This is the highly rot resistant and very attractive majoywoo wood. It has very interesting shapes and is perfect for the aquarium.

I soaked my pieces in a dedicated aquarium bucket for three weeks. I changed out the water to tap water every three days. This leaches out the tannins so the water doesn’t get tea colored. It also water logs the wood so it doesn’t float.

I just got the package and after opening it I found out that i only have 4 out of the 5, but with that being said the ones I did get seems good and I did get two very nice looking one. so Happy with that.

Update, not only was I able to get in contact with them, within a day time they got back to me offering a refund. But I only asked for them to just send the one piece I was missing. They where more then willing to send me a whole new package. Very kind and under standing. And fast on reply’s it was nice. So thank you again for all the help. Would buy from them again if I need more driftwood for my tank

Adequate sizing & length of wood. They do leak tannins even after 2 hours of boiling, but 4/5 woods sink. The largest piece floats (& is to be expected) so I’ll soak it for a while & use it as a centerpiece. Although the packaging itself was somewhat difficult to cut out, the obvious care in it was astounding! Tightly wrapped & bound to ensure no breakage. However, the smallest of the 5 woods was a bit of a disappointment, despite finding a place for it in my 10gal tank. In all seriousness, 7-8/10 stars if I could rate it more specifically. 🙂
Edit: the largest piece sunk after roughly 24hrs of soaking, but any piece has a chance of needing a(n) longer time to sink/anchor
08/19/2023: I rescaped two days prior to this edit. I’m satisfied with my scape as of right now. The woods fit together nicely, and there are spots where the betta can hide in, a “cave”. I did notice that it smelled awful in some places, like it was biofilm or whatnot despite it being in there for a month. And I noticed some sharp points that I covered with Java Moss. Little pieces of loose bark floated in the water. Still a little disappointed about the smaller pieces of wood. For any ten gallon tanks, I’d say get the medium size woods they have. These pieces are meant for nano tanks, or smaller tanks below 10 gallon. Definitely regretting a little I didn’t spend my money on the medium sizes. My male betta loves the hiding spots though, despite knocking and uprooting my plants like once/week. Still lovable. Buy at your own risk, will receive different pieces of wood, so experience on this seller will differ.

9/15/2023: Soooooo. The biggest piece of wood I had was peeling. For context, after I put it in, it built up a white “sludge” that STANK. I’d heard of biofilm, so I thought it’d go away eventually. It was a very sturdy piece, so it was solid enough for me to brush it with a (clean) toothbrush. To my surprise, the very top layer peeled off, and when I tried to peel it off thinking it’d stop there, an even BIGGER piece peeled off. At least part of the length of wood and 1cm in thickness. Not happy right now as I have shrimp, thinking they would eat the biofilm and leftover food. Keep in mind shrimp are small invertebrates, and are VERY sensitive.[-2 stars]
10/12/2023: after newfound research, wood softens as you boil longer. Soft wood or mulch does not affect shrimp or fish, but it does look undesirable. If you don’t want this look, I’d suggest boiling only for 10-30minutes to just get rid of undesired pests, pathogens/disease, and hitchhikers that may come on. If it is a larger piece of wood, you can choose to boil and pour water on top of the piece and soak it for 10minutes then top off with cool water to avoid softness and to sink it.

I like the piece I got, will make a great centerpiece for my 55 Gallon tank. Not as branchy as I would like but still a nice piece. Your piece may not be what is pictured nor will it look like mine. You will be getting a unique piece. Worth the gamble at this price, would of easily coated me more at the local pet shop.

    – This is one of several driftwood purchases I’ve made for use in aquariums. I have found that the quality of the pieces is highly variable, so while I recognized that these items are far less costly than what I’ve seen at the local fish store (LFS), I’ve felt at somewhat of a disadvantage since it’s not possible to look over the various shapes of examples in the store to get the best one for me. These are natural products so the variety of shapes is endless, and different aquarists might prefer some over others. I’ve ended up purchasing multiples of these items to increase the odds of getting pieces that I’ll like.
    – First, size. This product option is advertised as 6-10″ and in this regard the advertising is true. My three wood pieces are 9″, 9″ and 10″ long. See photo. SFSG.
    – The shapes are fairly appealing. I like the idea of complex shapes and a lot of variation in surface contour and interesting textures. These are pretty good, though only one of them is great. I probably wouldn’t have chosen to purchase all of these in the LFS, I don’t mind that 1 or 2 may end up on the shelf, possibly to be used later or given away.
    – Comes with an instruction note advising multiple/prolonged boiling to leech out all the tannins that will turn your aquarium water brown. Some people like this look and apparently the fish don’t mind. But most people don’t like that murky look. My past experience suggests that a 1 week bucket soak and then 45 min of boiling on the stove will mostly solve this. There was still slight tannin leech but eventually went away with the usual water exchanges.

I was not sure what to expect but the piece I received is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. I like that I can configure it a couple different ways. This will provide the cover my skunk bodia like. So now the boiling and soaking will begin. I will update with the final results.

I purchased for a red ear slider turtle tank but ended up returning because they just weren’t tall enough for what I was looking for. Good color, material and sturdy.

I got 2 large pieces that look great! I followed instructions for boiling before putting in the tank. I got this for my one and only fish: a pleco. Would recommend!
