Definitely the absolute best you can get in this price range! Fully adjustable spring tension, AND beater angle (not like the PDP DW pedals), so they’re completely customisable to your playing style! If you got these for playing a lot of heavy double bass as well as intricate bass patterns, put the beaters at rest around 4 inches from the bass and crank the spring tension, and you’ll be absolutely golden. These pedals cost only $30 more than other beginner pedals, but they’re worth HUNDREDS more!

This is a great pedal for the money. It’s good quality, easy to assemble, strong, and it performs well. I purchased this for my Alesis DM-10X drum set. I was using a DW4000 pedal, which was more expensive, but performed poorly. I highly recommend this for anyone who doesn’t want to spend a ton of money on a double-pedal, but wants something with some quality. I’ve had this for about a month now, and I can’t say a single bad thing about it.

As a beginner on a double kick, I found this very easy to set up, adjust and use……….
Just need to practice now 🙂

My son is learning the drums and was asking for a double bass pedal for some time. Eventually I gave in and apart from having to take loads of paracetomol it was a great buy. He sounds amazing and loves playing with the new pedals,. He is doing Music GCSE so lets hope that they have helped.

The single chain and adjustable bar connecting the two peddles is pretty good as far as response. My only complaint is that they are kind of clumsy feeling. The lift one (without the beaters on it) tips over sometimes. It doesn’t anchor to anything like the right one does.

I bought this for use with my Yamaha DTX500 electronic drum kit. It works a treat and is a huge improvement over the stock pedal that came with the kit.
Some have complained about build quality, but I don’t have any complaints at all. It was easy to assemble and adjust to the right distance between the pedals. It comes with a posh drum key that can be added to you tool box as it is the standard size and works with all equipment. There is an adjustment key on the side of the right pedal to adjust spring tension, and within 2 minutes (literally!) of opening the box I had these setup and adjusted to just how I like it. The pedal feel is fantastic and natural and does not require massive effort so it does not cause fatigue like some cheap, heavy pedals.
Shipping was fast and the packaging was adequate. The box was a little flimsy and came apart on one side when I took it out of the box from Amazon, but this should not detract at all on your decision to purchase this product. The contents were well protected and wrapped and it arrived completely undamaged.
Bottom line: I am really happy with these Mapex double bass drum pedals. If you want a well-priced product that will allow you to learn to play double bass, do not hesitate!

It is a great pedal. Worked well while i was still rebuilding my kit and before i could really bring the heavy drumming in. However, once i started drumming to rammstein or ministry i realized this pedal just can’t handle it.
Pros: it’s cost effective and great for indie, jazz, and easy paced playing. Somewhat sturdy foundation as well.
Cons: even with the carpet spurs fully embeded into my carpet the pedal still slides only its side to side not forward. If you’re bringing down 15lbs or more of force, especially with blast beats, its gonna come apart in a matter of minutes.
What i recommend is to use different beaters. These have a felt pad with a heavy plastic back. I bought 2 felt beaters with a small circular backing from Gibraltar and they helped a little along the way.
3 stars because I’m neutral on this pedal. Great for beginners or in home play. Bad for heavy drummers or touring.

I bought (locally) a Roland TD-25KV electronic drum kit. I had to buy a bass pedal, but getting things setup for me was a bit disheartening. I ended up buying the Mapex Double Bass Pedal so that I could play.
It’s a single chain per pedal. There was slight lag when pressing the left pedal. This was easily compensated by moving the beater forward a bit, and ensuring that I didn’t have any “kinks,” in the U-Joint links, and tightening the return springs.
While it is NOT a Tama pedal, it is a GOOD pedal, especially for my needs. It really is a good pedal for a budget, the instructions for setup were a bit lacking, but most any casual + drummer will be able to EASILY set it up.
I will advise though, if you play like or similar to how I do (4+ hours a week), then you’ll do yourself a good favor by getting down and checking the tightness of all your connecting lugs.

I spent some time deciding on which double pedal to go for and after reading many write up and reviews I selected the Mapex P500TW. First off the price was the first thing to grab my attention! There are many pedals at a similar price but all others seem to be unknown names and brands. But far from a flimsy cheap pedal!
The P500TW was a upgrade from my Mapex single pedal p500, so I knew what I was getting from the Mapex brand. The pedal is mainly used for home use on a electric kit so I don’t need a full on sturdy base plates and double chain.
I would highly recommend this pedal 10/10

Cannot speak enough to the quality of this double bass pedal. As an intermediate level drummer I was wanting to expand my horizons by purchasing a decent double bass pedal without breaking the bank. I have a variety of other single pedals made by other companies of high quality so I know what a good pedal should look like. the pictures depicting this pedal do not do justice to the quality of this pedal. It is very soundly constructed and can be put together very quickly. I adjusted it to the sensitivity that I needed and off I went. This double pedal is a companion to an Alesis DM 10 studio kit which now rocks even better than before with this new addition. If you are looking for a good quality double bass pedal that will not break the bank, look no further. I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this pedal and have absolutely no regrets after playing on it for a while on a daily basis. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

Great beginner bass pedal. They are fairly resistant meaning it can get tiring after playing them constantly, but helps build a lot of leg strength.

Great pedal, Good quality and value for money from a marque brand, easy to set up and adjust works well with electric kits.

Wow. That’s all I can say. Wow. I got this thing the summer of 2013, and I have had no desire to buy anything else yet. There are better ones out there, don’t get me wrong, but those are professional expensive ones that I just didn’t feel like saving up for at the time. I’ve been to music stores all over and looked at $200 and $300 pedals that I just don’t like as much as these ones. The movement is smooth and the whole assembly is easy to work with of any adjustment is needed. I tightened the springs once, but that was all I needed for them. I’ve played A7X, FFDP, and Lamb of God on these things perfectly fine. The only pedals that I have liked more were a set of $500 ones I found at a music store, and I may get those in the future if out band makes it further, but for how these things are great. Best buy I think our band has made yet.
