Great product for the money. Had a problem with the seat post dropping down into the mainframe but when I called the company, they were right on it. Got the problem solved quickly. That’s what I call great customer service. Highly recommend this product and this company.

The Marcy Upright Exercise Bike turned out to be exactly what I hoped it would be. I was looking for something that felt like my regular bike to use in the winter weather. I had one with a big fan in front that was noisy and blew cold air on me. I wanted a exercise bike where the peddles were directly below like my bike instead of out front. The Marcy is so quiet while watching TV or listening to music. The reviews I read before ordering seem to have a lot of complaints about the seat being uncomfortable. I imagine those came from non-bicycle riders. For those I recommend buying padded cycling shorts. I found doing step 2 first before #1 allowed me to attach post while the Main Frame was on it’s side. Then I attached the Stabilizers. I had to loosen the nut at the bottom of the Lower Tension Cable (20), and then re-tighten once the Upper Tension Cable (19) was slid in place.

This bike is excellent for those just getting into biking. No bells or whistles- just your basic needs. It was decently easy to put together. Like the other reviews- instructions are off, the screws/bolts are easy to figure out on your own. The computer is useless as the speed, distance is WAY off- but my iPad fits it well so I kept it. You will FOR SURE need a seat pad. I found a gel cover that fitted perfectly- do not get this bike if you don’t intend to get a seat cover. Overall good value for the purchase.

I assembled this product by myself despite the instructions suggesting two people tackle it. I kept the original box and used it to prop up some parts of the bike during assembly which was not overly difficult even by myself. I’m 71″ tall and have a 32″ inseam; and even with the seat-post extended to its maximum safe length, there is a noticeable bend in my knee when the pedal is in the lowest part of its revolution. While I do not find this to be particularly undesirable, I prefer a more extended reach with my legs while exercising. The best part of this machine is the magnetic resistance feature which isn’t overly difficult even on the highest setting, yet still provides consistent and smooth resistance. The machine does not require electrical power to operate (except for the monitor which requires batteries), and the magnetic resistance mechanism when in operation is nearly silent. The bike itself does not take up much floor space and can be used even if tucked into a corner of a room. I bought this exercise machine to replace an older elliptical-trainer which required electrical power, took up twice as much space and was loud while in operation. Overall, I really like the function and performance of this exercise bike. Well worth the money when purchased by those with appropriate height and leg-length.

I took a chance on this bike as it has mixed reviews. I was pleasantly surprised as it’s a good workout. It’s quiet and smooth to pedal. Everything fit together well during assembly, all the parts were there and working. I added a seat cushion for extra comfort as suggested. Overall I’m happy with my purchase. The bike seems a little bit smaller than a bike at the gym. I’m 5′ 7 and I’m using the seat at full hight. I’m not sure it’s for someone taller than myself.

All parts were included, clearly labeled, and fit together well. Two wrenches included but you’ll also need a screwdriver. Assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow–actual assembly takes a while, tho.
Two minor issues caused me to rate this item 4 stars instead of 5: 1) can’t get the monitor to stay in one mode, stays in scan mode, which I find distracting, and 2) altho quite stable, the bike rocks very sightly when I’m pedaling fast–I have it on a plastic mat w/ carpet underneath, so might not get this on a hard floor.
Minor issues aside, I would rate this item a good value for the price.

We have ordered this product and returned it and received it a second time and both times it’s always missing a piece. It’s getting ridiculous because it’s the same missing piece every time . It’s always missing a back leg. Never ordering this again

This is a very economical exercise bike. I purchased it in October 2017 and rode it for 2,300 miles. I started out at 241lbs with a goal of getting more fit (I was 50 when I started) and losing about 40lbs. I recently broke 200 and I’m comfortable in the 190’s for the first time in 15 years. Blood pressure is normal, blood sugar is normal, everything is normal. I feel great, cardio workout is really helping me stay strong and healthy. I lost a lot of weight using this bike and I am not historically a fan of exercise. Note that the weight loss was combined with a concerted effort to eat better (not crazy or on any particular diet). I cut down calories and I’m eating well but the big factor is the bike where I burned between 700 and 1100 calories a day riding and watching Netflix.

I started at level 1 and nearly died. I’ve been riding at level 6 consistently since early December 2017 but have not been able to move up to level 7 (too hard). There is an 8th level of resistance.

The bike has a simple monitor that tracks miles traveled, speed, calories burned, time riding and an overall odometer. This is not a fancy programmed bike with elaborate challenges or courses to ride. It’s pretty basic, but that is what I was looking for. It’s not too obtrusive and is not too heavy to move to the side or corner of the room when you’re done with your ride.

The bike has a 2 year warranty. I will say that it is not built to last if used in this way. In 4+months of every day use, the handlebar broke off. Weight limit on the bike is 300lbs, so for someone much lighter than me and/or someone using it less frequently, it might have lasted longer. I don’t see any other issues with it. The warranty has covered a replacement part and it was shipped quickly. I have to say there is high value for the cost of this bike, considering the extreme costs of the alternatives. If you are looking for good value and decent results, I recommend this bike as a good value-for-cost option.

PS. Make sure you get a gel seat cover for an exercise bike seat. This seat is rock-hard and will soften over a long time of use. It doesn’t feel soft, so it may be that my own rear-end may have just become accustomed to it over time. It was hard to get through the first few rides, but over time and with the gel seat, discomfort is lessened. I don’t know if I would have survived to lose 40+ lbs without the gel seat which I ordered immediately after the first few rides.

The bike was fairly easy to assemble and it is a very sturdy piece of equipment; HOWEVER, the seat is so painful that I haven’t been able to sit on the thing for more than 5 consecutive minutes. I’ll have to purchase a seat cushion in order to use the bike.

This review is to highlight the difference in this Marcy upright vs many of the other Marcy bikes available. I had an older Marcy bike that was lost in a fire (ordered from amazon) and when i went to the original product page, i was directed to the “newer model available” option. So i ordered it but it was NOT a newer model of my old Marcy upright. It was significantly different and poorer in quality.
I searched around more and found this Marcy upright instead. What i like about it (and what’s different from most of the other Marcy uprights currently available): the handlebars ARE adjustable. i repeat, the handlebars ARE adjustable. I don’t think they’re supposed to be but it’s easy enough to flip them around so they can point up or down and the bars themselves can be set at any level. I currently have mine tightened just enough to hold them in place but loose enough that i can ratchet them up or down if i want to. I like to change postures as i pedal and adjustable handlebars allows me to do that.
The other main difference from the “newer model available” Marcy to this Marcy is that this Marcy has long base/floor bars in front and back. The newer model one, and several others, have either two short bars or one long and one short bar. I am 130 lbs and i didn’t feel stable on the one with a short bar in front and a long bar in back. This Marcy upright has long bars front and back and I don’t rock from side to side as I pedal!
Could the seat be better? yes. my old one was awful but i just used one or two blankets as padding. I’m sure this one will be the same.
It’s a basic bike. there’s not many frills but it does what i want at a good price, the handlebars DO adjust and the bike is stable compared to other Marcy models.
Please note: the bike i received matches the stock picture except that the white area shown in the picture is light grey on my actual bike.
