A dog bed should be comfortable, portable, and easy to clean. This pet bed delivers on all that and more.
Aesthetically this is a nice bed. It looks well-made, has a nice but unobtrusive pattern on one side, and can be set in most rooms and not look out of place. The actual quality seems fairly high. It is reasonably thick and soft, certainly enough that a pet is going to prefer laying on it over the floor. The two different sides also have different covers, one side is smooth and soft, the other is thick and and a bit rougher. Both are pleasant and my dog seems to enjoy both on different occasions.
This bed is soft and flexible so it can be rolled up or shoved into a ball in the car and be taken with you. It has been many places with us and the dog and is always easy to bring along. Even the dog can move it, as she regularly grabs it and moves it to different places in the home when she feels like being in a different room. Since she isn’t chewing and shaking it like a toy, it also easily stands up to her biting it like this. Note that if you dog does chew and shake it, this bed won’t last long, as it is not a toy.
Finally, when this bed gets to funky or dirty looking, it can easily be tossed in the wash. I comes out just fine and ready to be used again. After five years it is just starting to look a little worn and thread-bare in places, but it still has plenty of life in it.
This is an excellent dog bed. The suggested dog weights for each size seem pretty accurate, it lasts for years, and does its job of being a comfortable pet bed very well. Go ahead and buy it with confidence.

I bought two different sets of Midwest Homes for Pets–MidWest Reversible Paw Print Pet Bed & Midwest Quiet Time Ombre Swirl Deluxe pet bed–because I was buying them sight-unseen and therefore a bit skeptical. I am a skeptic no more! Wow, both of these are great crate pads! In fact, I kept both sets and ordered more so all of my dogs could get a new plush bed to replace their (now flattened from years of use) old beds. The new Midwest beds are both very strong, well made, soft, plush and thick. My (spoiled rotten) collies love them…and they are very fussy! The beds are heavy enough so these 50+ lb. dogs can enter the crate without disturbing the pad. Once inside, the dog can move around on the pad without it ending up squished in a corner. However, I do have one collie who likes to “hug” his crate pad (he has the blue paw print pad) and, unlike pads/beds with orthopedic foam, these Midwest pads are pliable so he can roll up one end and tuck it under his chin as a pillow rest. Since these are new purchases, one thing I can’t comment on at this time is how the crate pads/pet beds will wash. The manufacturer states they are machine washable, and I expect they will be because they are soft, well made, and of a good material. But, they are a bit big and, at the 36″ and 42″ inch sizes (my purchases), bulky. We’ll see…Based on my past experience with washing Midwest’s large bolster/bumper crate pads/pet beds many multiple times, I’m trusting these new pads will wash well, too. The surface of the pads/beds do wipe clean very easily and thoroughly. Pet hair lifts off easily and other “debris” (cookie crumbs, pebbles, twigs, leaves etc.) shakes right off. Lastly (but not least), Amazon’s amazing pricing for pet beds of this quality make these an incredible buy! As the owner of multiple dogs, I tried to be thorough in describing the two pads, since every owner’s needs are different, and I know reviews have been important for my buying decisions. Hope these comments are helpful to your selection of the best pet bed for your best friend!

I just realized after almost a whole year that I never posted a review of this product. I rely so heavily on reviews at Amazon before I make purchases, so I feel I should also post when I purchase a product to help others determine if something is of good quality, etc. First let me say my little Lucy, a now 20 month old beagle, is notorious for removing stuffing from all of her toys, and she also had a fleece/lambs wool type bolster bed in her crate, which she also tore apart. I thought I’d give this pet bed a try, as it was more “flat” but still had two distinct sides to it. I figured, well, at least it will be nice for her to sleep on for a month or so, and then she would destroy that as well. I am happy to say that after almost a year’s worth of use, the entire bed is intact and washes easily. It takes up very little room in my washer, and I wash it with her other blankets that she uses. It comes out smelling all nice and sure, it still has some bits of dog hair remaining, but then I don’t vacuum it, I just shake it out before washing. So for all those folks on the fence about this product, I am here to say it is great, and I was going to order another one, but it is just not needed for now, but when I do get to that point and too many washings, I will reorder it for sure. It fits perfectly inside of an 18 x 24 inch metal crate base, and sometimes I also throw one of her blankets on top of it for extra coziness, but she loves to lay on it either way. I haven’t flipped it over to the fleece side ever, the paw print side is always up, as I don’t want it to remind her of the toys she has consumed that were made of fleece! Somehow she doesn’t seem to bother it and has never chewed on it at all! Hopefully this will help some people decide on what I feel is a very attractive, and certainly durable product!

It’s smaller than I was expecting and leaves room in the crate uncovered but the quality seems good and it’s really soft.
