Got this scan device for college kid to help keep the vehicle running while away from home. They can relay the DATA to me and we can come up with a solution from what we learn w/o wasting time & hopefully $$$.$$!
It extracts the basic OBD2 data you would expect! (That’s the bottom line is it not?)
Comments:
The start screen IMO was a bit too busy for my taste, making the highlighted lines a bit vague but still useful. In bright daylight, the usual screen wash out is a factor, but again doable. The data link connector cord is mostly for driver seat use length. We tried using it with a copilot to observe the tool during a test drive, made having to lean over the counsel uncomfortable for the test dr. Two more feet of cord should take care of that (Motopower?) Cord is fixed to device and not removable, no complaint really unless you like a more compact tool and less stress bending that cord around itself.
The ONE item I really miss here is a battery backup to keep data in memory.
( Motopower are you listening? ) Put that in (including the extra cost?) and this tool will really set itself apart from others!!!!

This scanner is the best for the price. It works very well and I like the battery tester on it. My brother ordered himself one because he likes mines so much. Unfortunately someone took it from my car at the dealership so they got themselves a great tool!!!

This unit is easy to use. I know my CAT is bad but can’t afford to fix it yet. This unit will read the codes & then I can delete them.
It’s gonna keep coming on but until I can afford a new CAT I can turn off the check engine light.

This saved me so much time and nonsense. There are still people out there that like to prey on elderly women, especially when it comes to their cars. Being a female myself, I got this to double check what my mom was being told about her car. I was able to open this and use it immediately and easily. I also found my mother was being lied to before wasting her money.

I bought this for an engine warning light that led to a breakdown. I was told what the fault was and repaired the car myself but had no way to cancel the error on the cars system. So purchased this to try to avoid paying a garage for what only takes a minute at most.. so it’s easy to use and immediately showed me the fault then I cleared it and no more issues, well except one.. the engine light wouldn’t go away. After further reading it turns out that my car needs a set number of start/ stops or a set distance for the light to turn off ( self diagnose ) but at least this tool got the car out of limp mode and fully cleared the error message. It does seem to have a lot of other features that seem to me as useful to.. definitely value for money as the garage would have charged me at least what this cost to clear that problem

I had a obd scanner but outside of giving you the codes and the IM monitor you got nothing else. This one gives you so much information and will come much closer to telling you what is really wrong with your vehicle. I highly recommend this obd scanner.
