Very low quality metal and material –
Works great. Feels well built

Starter is very lightweight. Great for hiking. Problem is if it is windy the spark has a problem lighting the gas.

Non accende il mio fornello windburner…quindi completamente inutile…un furto praticamente

I bought this because one burner on my stove doesn’t ignite, lol but it’s also cool because I can use it with my mini camp stoves, and save my ferro rod for emergency situations. It packs in same bag as my titanium stove. This item is great!!!!

Purchased one at a camping store and another on Amazon: Neither work –better said, won’t light a thing other than making a snappy clicking sound. Good for dog training I suppose. Use a lighter. If that is too dangerous for one’s taste, maybe one should not be in the outdoor. MSR products are great — have many of them, but this one is a total and complete waste!

Great bit of kit.. Mine didn’t come with a lanyard. It’s only micro paracord so I’ll fit one of my own.. Great brand as always..

Had the same one for several years now. I like it because it is very lightweight and does not get used up during my multi-week trips. Use it for Coleman liquid fuel and gas canisters on my lightweight backpacking stoves. It has limitations at high altitude; so if you are a lightweight backpacker like me, you might end up using some of your emergency matches at 11k or above when you get frustrated with it. In any case could usually get it to work after a few, a few more, or a few more tries; if I ran out of emergency matches or don’t carry a bit of emergency flint and steel. Definitely hold the nozzle down, so it accumulates gas. And it is wind sensitive, so build that windbreak when you need to – you will be saving fuel anyway.

Esse item é ótimo, bem compacto, ideal para camping, expedições, trekking, atividades ao ar livre em geral.

Worked fine to start up my camping stove.

A must for backpacking with a butane stove. I always keep it with my Jetboil after the one time my sparker became non operational, turning my fancy since into a paper weight. I fixed it later with sodder but always good to have one of these in the pack to get you through until you return to civilization. I recommend one per group. Works fine in rainy, wet and windy climate here in Hawaii

I purchased this to use with my JetBoil backpacking stove on a recent hike on the Appalachian trail. Since I was using air travel I could not bring my usual cheap butane lighter and decided to give this a try. The biggest trick that I had to learn was that I had to ensure that I held the ignitor vertically so that the gas would rise into the opening where the spark will ignite the gas. It worked successfully each time I used it though it did sometimes take several clicks. My biggest complaint it the loop for a lanyard on the side was too small and it took some time to locate a strong but small cord that I could loop through it and hang around my neck when I wasn’t using or storing the ignitor. It’s small and would be very easy to misplace especially in the woods.
