Was a very good extender , but then bit the dust after 22 days. I ended up returning it and getting a different model. But it worked flawlessly and then one day it didn’t and no amount of trouble shooting helped. So maybe just a lemon

Install is the same as adding a router but as an extender unless you have it hardwired, you basically cut your bandwidth in half and it running it with the same network name causes a lot of issues so you have to run 2 networks…might as well run another router and have less issues. But if all you need is another access point and maybe a few additional devices, this will work.

I was having a great deal of difficulty with range extenders covering my whole house. This is my second Nighthawk. The first has been working flawlessly for about 5 years, and adding this one has fully and seamlessly covered my entire house. A bit pricey, but more than worth the price.

I have had an extender before and it was a pain to setup. Oh, it was a Netgear also.

This thing was so easy, I thought, there is no way I am done, and it worked.

I did have to change a bunch of my devices SSID’s but, it has performed flawlessly since I got it. Now, there is only one SSID, it’s great.

Just FYI – We have a 1700sqft house and there were ‘dead spots’ in the back of the house with our wireless router only.

Setup and performance was fine. It can be a bit complex if you don’t have a baseline level of knowledge with wireless networking setup.

Unfortunately, my renewed/refurbished Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 8-Stream WiFi 6 Mesh Extender (EAX80) wifi extender failed after about 6 months of use – devices won’t stay connected to it and it repeatedly drops out when trying to access it with the Netgear Nighthawk app or or via //mywifext in a browser.

Since there is only a 90 day warranty on renewed/refurbished items – unless you spent extra for a protection plan or purchase a pro support contract ($99/year) from Netgear – you are going to be out of luck. Factor these costs in and you might as well buy New where you at least have a 1-year warranty without having to pay extra.

Sadly, this extender is now basically e-waste.

This is a combo cable modem and router…so one less device. It works very well. However use the IP for setting, not the nighthawk app which is rather worthless

so this beats my old tplink for staying connected.. still experience some drop out.. I absolutely hate the way it holds onto ip addresses that disconnect.. like family phones and tablets.. the interface of the app stinks and is not accurate often showing 4 extenders when I have 2.. two each.. I don’t know why except they end up with different ip addys even tho I reserved some.. that part needs loads of work.. that being the firmware and the app.. otherwise once it’s working…it does.. and unlike tplink I can connect locally which is a huge plus for networking.. makes me wonder why tplink needs that and what they steal or look at.

For my house it did not cover as much area as my ax6600, and if often dropped connections.
