Für mein “Gastsystem” ein absolutes Upgrade. Der Kühler ist in meinem schallgedämpften Gehäuse quasi unhörbar, war easy montiert und kühlt selbst bei längerer Belastung mehr als ausreichend. Empfehlung für Silent oder Eco Systeme geht raus! Für die Top CPUs könnte es allerdings ein wenig knapp werden. Ich empfehle im Zweifel eines der vielen Review/Test Videos zu dem Kühler.

This is an upgrade from an Intel stock cooler I have been stuck with for 3 years, and I will lay down the facts of this cooler!
Things to make sure you have before buying this cooler: The only thing you need is Ethanol or Isopropyl. I recommend at least 90%, which is what I used. You can buy 1L of 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol for £5.
Noise: It is so quiet. The noise levels are very low; it’s very quiet. At maximum 1500 RPM, it’s noticeable but nowhere near noisy. The noise in the video I attached was actually my GPU, which needs an upgrade (GTX 1650).
Accessories: The included mounting kits are great. If you, for some reason, struggle with manuals, Noctua has videos for installing this cooler for different boards. It was pretty easy; just make sure you follow carefully and don’t rush anything. The included screws were very well made and did the job; they even included an Allen key with a screw on the end, so don’t panic if you don’t have a screwdriver on hand. Also included is their thermal paste! They have very good thermal paste, and it spreads very well. Make sure you put no more than a pea-sized amount in the center of your CPU. Way too much and too little can both result in overheating.
How cool is my CPU?: Before my CPU was hitting 91° MAX while gaming on an Intel stock cooler. I have stress tested this CPU on 100% and it barely hit 60°. This is a HUGE difference; however, please note that this will vary from user to user, for variables like Case Airflow, fans, proper installation, usage, etc.
The Specs: It works fantastic. I have it on an i5-9400F, my motherboard is a Micro ATX ASUS PRIME H310M-R R2.0. Make sure your case is big enough, mainly due to the fact that if your RAM blocks the fan, and so the fan sticks out a bit, make sure there is clearance. I have a mid-tower case, and it fits just fine.
Is it worth it?: It’s on the pricier side; however, it was easy to install and works fantastic. If for some reason you don’t have the correct fittings for your motherboard, simply contact Noctua and they will send out what you need for free, no charge. So yes, it was absolutely worth it.

This cooler is made by Noctua. This is my first purchase from them, and they live up the their reputation for excellent quality and performance!
I was using the stock AMD cooler (Wraith?) that came with my Ryzen 3600. While the stock cooler was adequate for simple tasks such as word processing or the Internet, it fell short for intensive tasks such as video encoding. Starting an encode would immediately shoot temperatures up to 95°C and stay there, severely throttling the CPU.
After installing this cooler (it comes with a tube of Noctua’s own quality NT-H1 thermal paste) and a fan curve adjustment to accommodate the greater cooling performance, the CPU temperatures are much lower and the computer is much quieter! Idle temperatures are about 32°–36°C. Testing the performance with some video encoding, temperatures where at 70°–75° after an hour and the CPU never throttled once—Full boost throughout the entire process!
Mounting the cooler was simple and straightforward with excellent instructions and diagrams. All necessary parts are included in the box. The AMD and Intel components are separate to avoid mixing them up. Extra mounting pads and brackets where provided in case you wanted to install a second fan in a push/pull configuration.
The black color looks great, as black goes with everything! (No, I am not just saying that because the rest of my build is black as well.) I also used the included paste to reapply the thermal compound on my PS4 Pro, with more left over for future applications as well!
Overall, Noctua has earned a costumer in me and a spot on my recommendation list.

Awesome cooler 10/10, Prefer this over cheap AIO coolers. User with a good thermal compound like Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. Check case compatibility on Noctua’s site and Read last paragraph of review if you are replacing an existing CPU Cooler.

First up , incase you are replacing an existing cooler DO NOT remove existing cooler before running the computer to bring up the temps. Otherwise the CPU can come off while removing the cooler. Happened to to me. Best thing run Cinebech or other benchmark software to increase CPU temps so that the thermal compound would be easier to separate.

Look, the mounting system is worth the price alone. This was the easiest, most stress free installation of a CPU cooler ever. I’ve got a Corsair H60 AIO, a Deepcool Gammax 400, and a Hyper 212 EVO Black, which, Cooler Master -claims- is AM4 compatible but I had extreme difficulty mounting it to my motherboard (ASRock B450m Pro4). This cools better than all of them, and is nearly inaudible as well. I was very uncomfortable with the amount of torque the board had to endure to get everything to line up with 212 EVO, but this Noctua cooler has a superb mounting system. It’s the best. Ever. It took me longer to get the 212 EVO out of my machine than it did to put the NH-U12S into it.
Let me be the first to tell you this cooler is worth every single penny. Especially if you’re doing a black/white themed build like I am, but looks are the last you should care about. Currently, I have four tabs open in Firefox, am listening to music, and there’s a space heater on high basically right under where my PC sits and I’m at 24 degrees Celsius. When gaming, playing Destiny 2, Halo: Reach, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, etc; temperatures hover around 39-42 degrees Celsius, and AIDA64 stress tests yield an average temperature of 55 degrees Celsius under 100% load for 10 minutes, with the peak temperature being 65 degrees. There’s no sign of throttling or coming anywhere even remotely close to TJ max on my Ryzen 5 2600. Even overclocked to 4Ghz the highest temperature I saw was 77C.
Pros:
– Installation is so easy a child could do it
– Cools as well as an AIO, within reason
– Nearly silent, and under load the tone is a low pitch
– Incredibly sturdy construction
– Made from very high quality materials
– Anti-vibration mounts make color coordination simple

Il Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black si distingue per la qualità eccellente dei componenti e la facilità di installazione. Le istruzioni sono chiaramente separate per processori AMD o Intel, e all’interno della confezione è incluso tutto il necessario, persino il cacciavite. La ventola si inserisce e rimuove con estrema semplicità, il che rende il posizionamento molto agevole. Personalmente, l’ho installato su un AMD 7600x e, in condizioni di riposo con il profilo prestazionale attivato su Windows, la temperatura si mantiene intorno ai 33°C, mentre sotto stress, con tutti i core in funzione, la temperatura media arriva a 77°C. Sono estremamente soddisfatto delle sue prestazioni.
Oltre alla qualità costruttiva, un altro aspetto che mi ha sorpreso è l’incredibile silenziosità del dissipatore. L’ho installato su un Ryzen 3700x con overclock, dentro una Fractal Pop Air white RGB, e devo dire che il Noctua ha prestazioni eccellenti. La stabilità delle temperature è fenomenale: anche sotto carichi pesanti come After Effects, Blender, Photoshop o durante il gaming, il dissipatore mantiene la CPU sotto i 65°C, senza alcuna variazione nel rumore. A differenza dei sistemi di raffreddamento a liquido che ho usato per anni, il Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black è così silenzioso che spesso mi dimentico di averlo acceso.
In conclusione, se state cercando un dissipatore che combini silenziosità, efficienza e facilità di installazione, il Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black è la scelta perfetta. Dopo questa esperienza, sono convinto che i ventilatori Noctua saranno una parte fissa dei miei PC in futuro.
