D. Judy –
I bought the Vanilla flavor Rice protein. Alone the taste is not very good. But I think that is true for most rice proteins. I mix it at a ratio of 30 to 70 or 40 to 60 of the rice protein to Vanilla Pea Protein by Naked Nutrition in some plant milk, filtered water and a little honey or maple syrup. Mix with an immersion blender and it taste great and blends well. I do this to try to get a complete protein with all the essential amino acids.
I use it in other smoothies as well with frozen fruit, chia seeds, some honey and plant milk. Blends well and no over powering taste.
I suffer from IBS-C and I can not drink whey. I have had not had any gut issues with The Nutribiotic Vanilla Rice Protein.

Great alternative to the whey protein I always have. I love how there’s no added anything. I am a little concerned about the heavy metal content though – I keep it under 3 servings a day (I need A LOT of protein to maintain muscle). Also, I’m warning you it gets everywhere. However, it’s a small price to pay for pure.
Edit: 3/2/16
I can’t believe I originally gave this product a four star rating. A little concerned about the heavy metal content? I should have been VERY concerned.
Over the past four months, my health rapidly deteriorated. I admit I already have mold toxicity, but I knew something specific had to be provoking my worsening symptoms. Here I was thinking this rice protein was one of the only proteins I could eat because it is easy to digest. I failed to realize, however, that heavy metals decrease thyroid function! There is also a theory that mold binds to metals, so this was a double whammy for me. My body had begun aging rapidly – crepe skin, hollowed eyes and sagging cheeks, increased body fat and loss of muscle mass. And that was just the outside. Inside my chronic fatigue skyrocketed, my sinuses started hurting more than ever, and my breathing was impaired during increased activity. And let’s not forget what this does to your hormones. PMS is an understatement. My breasts were starting to hurt ALL month long. My estrodial and progesterone were abnormally high to boot.
It wasn’t until recently that I reread an article which officially tested Nutribiotic for its heavy metal content. I felt so foolish because I failed to realized I had to multiply this serving times two or three because that is the number of servings I had per day of it. And mind you, as a consumer, I shouldn’t have to worry about this because it’s not fast food or dessert!
Since my discovery, I have completely eliminated this product from my diet. And with the help of calcium disodium EDTA and chlorella (heavy metal detoxifying agents), I’m feeling like a new person.
Not everyone may be as sensitive to this protein as I am, but why would you want to endanger your body in the first place? Things may feel ok for now, but what about down the road? I’d been consuming rice protein for the past year and a half, and it took until now for crap to hit the fan. I look back, and to be honest, my thyroid function began slowing early last year. Coincidence? I think not.

Good taste, equitable price for the amount, (3 Lbs), very easy on my stomach. I’m late 40’s and work out really hard 3-4 times a week with short at home stints on my days off. Eating healthy, proper rest, cutting 90% of all sugar, bread, cheese, alcohol….there’s a lot of other items you could add to the list. Trying to eat mostly healthy with pushing yourself and not getting the proper supplements could be a deteriorating factor. This past August I noticed I’d gained 10 lbs over the past year going form a field to desk job. For my height, 5’8″, it was okay if put in the right places; this was mostly around my waist. Cut out those items listed above and went from 175 to 160 by end of January. It was too much loss. After one week of taking the protein, (every night, whether working out at the gym or home) ** (also mix a 1/2 scoop of two additional protein products, all organic all in the top 5 of best recommend healthy proteins), and I can already feel a big difference and see a small difference. I don’t know the science behind it or if it will work for everyone as it has for me….gained back 1.5 LBS, have more energy and look a little better.

Great product! I have been using NutriBiotic Rice protein powder for years. The price is fair for the quality of the product. The service and delivery from this company has been nothing but exceptional to date.

The taste is like how I would imagine the dust from your vacuum would taste. Feels like swallowing chalk paint.
1/10 would not buy again.

Tried this Nutribiotic Rice Protein powder this morning in my shake. It definitely has that typical plant based protein powder consistency, but it does blend well. It tastes better than pea and soy protein. The chocolate flavor is very mild, but I don’t mind it as I don’t like overpowering flavors.
I mixed 10oz almond milk, 3tbsp rice protein, 1/2 c frozen blueberries, half a large banana, cinnamon, and 2 tbsp PB2. Blended in my bullet for 30-40 second and it came out delicious. Not gritty or sand like, with the perfect flavors of banana and blueberry. I have IBS and diverticulitis, and so far no stomach upset, bloating, gas, etc. I eat a plant based diet and look forward to using this in my shakes pre or post workout. Low calorie, low carb, low sugar, and not too much protein. I’ll update in a week or so!

I’ve now purchased this protein 43 times.
I’ve been using it in my breakfast smoothie for a long while. If you were buying this just to put it in milk or whatever liquid and drink just that, I’d say hard pass. It’s taste is bad and it’s gritty. I use a fruit blend, plain greek yogurt, this protein, almond milk and some orgain super food powder. That mix at the right ratio in a blender works really well for me. Been doing this for years!
If you’re looking for a good taste out of the package or good dissolving look elsewhere.
