Its MIPS, great long tilting visor. comfy.
However, the glasses holder… Oakley did not think.
It holds some glasses, but as soon as you put your glasses on top, you will scratch,
or lose them the first tree branch.
My glasses got scratched immediately after putting them on top of the helmet by a branch.

I have seen a few reviews that talk about how they feel this helmet is too heavy, and not comfortable due to the BOA 360 tightening system.
After 3 hours of bike riding yesterday, this thing was very comfortable. There were a couple of times where I forgot I was wearing a helmet, vs my go-to ball cap. The BOA 360 system worked very well, as did the sweat gutter in the front of the helmet. You can tighten this thing to be pretty tight – yes. Although, it’s not a necessity to tighten it to the point where it’s uncomfortable. I am able to have it feel a little loose, yet it still wouldn’t slip off when I crouched over and head my head almost upside down (with the strap unbuckled). This thing is pretty form-fitting. Maybe I just have the perfect headshape for this helmet. But, this thing looks awesome, very comfortable, very lightweight, and the features all work as advertised.

As a disclaimer, I purchased this helmet as it did seem to check all of the boxes and then made the decision to buy it after finding it at a significant markdown combined with some credits from Amazon. It was hard to pass up. Overall I find it to be a good quality helmet. As others have mentioned in reviews, the feel on the head is somewhat like the way a “hardhat” sits on the head- a little high center, which must have been the design. Ventilation seems very good. I went with size L as I am on borderline, between M and L. But in past MTB helmet purchases, the M felt too small. This helmet I think I could have gone with an M and been okay. In this case, I do wear a “bandana” or “do-rag” under the helmet. Other reviewers commented about its weight, that it is heavier than most MTB helmets but after wearing it for rides lasting several hours, the weight of the helmet was never an issue or even a thought. I suffered no headaches from the fit and tension of the helmet as reported by other reviewers. Pos that stand out; 1. it feels substantial as far as protection & MIPs, 2. Simple design as far as headband tension system that worked well for me with the goal to be sunglass friendly. 3. comfortable. 4. Its basic design seems well made and simple (with KISS being the standard). And so being a good basic design, it feels like it will do for which it was designed, very well.

Absolutely love the “Look” of my DRT5 in white. However, the recessed area surrounding the “glasses holders” is not a glossy white as depicted in the pictures. Its a matte white, just like the rest of the helmet. Its not that much of a disappointment since I don’t even see it when I’m wearing it anyway. I left the brackets that are supposed to secure your riding glasses in place even though I don’t really plan to use them, but in the event I do, at least they’ll be there. The MIPS system works well and is a cinch to use, but as I have read in other online reviews, the thin “string” used can be a bit restrictive after extended wear if secured even a tad too tight. The system does work, however. I might recommend a slightly wider band-like strap be used in subsequent models in order to spread out the pressure over a wider area where it meets the rider’s temples. I used some Loctite Threadlocker 242 (blue, medium strength) to secure the allen head bolts securing the adjustable sun visor, also recommended by another online reviewer, as they are not that securely fastened in place by the factory.
My one and only issue, which may or may not be experienced by other users, is that the material which mates to your head when being worn, is not that comfortable. I think its the thin plastic-like material of the MIPS web/shell system located between your head and the foam shell. I purchased a generic helmet padding kit which I plan to soften the areas I feel could use it. Specifically along the four longitudinal “ribs” that run front to back along that plastic liner, and perhaps along both temples. I thought the helmet may have been too big, but my head circumference measured a 59.3cm, which is right for the size Large I decided to buy over the Medium. I figured I could tighten down the MIPS to fit my head vs not have enough adjustment left had I bought the Medium.
The chin strap doesn’t bother me at all and I did not have to adjust it other than making it a ted tighter than how it arrived out of the box. I’ve read the straps are difficult to adjust and are “complex“ when trying to figure out how to adjust them if needed. I did not encounter the need, so that was not an issue.
Lastly, although a great looking and secure-feeling helmet, it is not lightweight by any means. There could have been a handful more vents incorporated into the overall design, but I think what is there has been adequate so far.
Would I buy another one? Probably. If the areas I mentioned were addressed by Oakley, then absolutely. I am a huge Oakley fan and loyalist, so I’ve been purchasing their products over the period of a couple of decades & change. I would honestly gravitate towards a lighter helmet for more casual riding, but for off road excursions this DRT5 fits the bill and I’m more than satisfied with my purchase.

This helmet is perfect! The matte black is sharp looking, it is comfortable, has good airflow, and fits great. I’ll never go back to a basic Walmart helmet.

Excelente casco, muy cómodo, la vicera es ajustable en diferentes posiciones.

Me gusta mucho la marca pero creo que ya solo es el nombre, sus productos ya no son como antes de calidad.

I just received this helmet as a replacement for my old one. I have used it only 3-4 times so far, so I will probably update my review down the road. So far, it is very comfortable once you get it set up correctly; it lets you adjust pretty much everything (chin strap, internal support), and it came with additional padding, which I used on the back.
The feature to place the sunglasses work well and is convenient, as it is also an adjustable visor.
As of right now, I love it, it is light, comfortable, and well-designed, and it is of good quality and materials.

It’s a good product

Me gustó el diseño y la forma en acomodar los lentes en la parte trasera del casco. Trae almohadillas que evitan que te caiga el sudor en la cara.
