Informed Buyer –
So I picked this up after a nurse botched my BP reading by taking my pressure OVER a shirt sleeve, causing my doctor to recommend a home kit. Well after some research I picked this one and am not disappointed, it takes up to three readings at a time and stores them in memory, found out my BP wasn’t that high after all. If only I could sue for malpractice in this country, lol!

This model of the OMRON BP machine is NOT serviced by OMRON Australia. The machine upon arrival was giving some erroneous BP readings. The service center in Australia was contacted. They stated that since the machine was the latest model (shipped from the USA), the local OMRON service center was unable to help. This is a HUGE problem as this machine was purchased for monitoring a critical health parameter (ie Blood Pressure)!! If the machine is giving inaccurate results (when compared to the doctor’s machine at the local clinic) and the Australian service center is UNABLE to help, then what is the point of buying from Amazon.com.au. Might as well buy from local suppliers of the NOT the latest model. We need Amazon and OMRON to address this problem ASAP!! Does Amazon liaise with local OMRON center to inquire whether the latest version of their (OMRON’s) machine is serviced by them??? Return or exchange of this product is complicated and time consuming and we do need a BP machine that is reliable!!! Please HELP, it is a HEALTH ISSUE!!!

This unit arrived quickly and without any signs of damage. Right out of the box this 7450 monitor worked flawlessly! I was able to set up the Omron app and sync it with absolutely no problem to my cellphone. The information on the screen is bright and the numbers are large. I was used to my old Omron that still works with a bulb to pump up the cuff! Oh! did I mention the cuff is easy to wrap around the upper arm and feels comfortable too! I don’t understand the negative reviews about this monitor. In fact Consumer Reports in their January 2024 issue gives this monitor a best buy check rating! Don’t hesitate! The accuracy is spot on! Buy it!

I have been using the Omron 10 Series BP785N for the last five years or so. Lately, it would occasionally error out and sometimes it would act funny, so I was not sure I could trust the results. The price for this unit was a lot cheaper than the comparable unit I bought in 2018. Plus, the BP7450 includes Bluetooth. So, that was a nice plus.
First I tested them side by side, doing a “TruRead” 3 time Average with both units, the Systolic was off by 1 and the Diastolic was exact. So, based on that reading, I feel comfortable using both of them. Since I can still use my old one, I have decided to keep my manual log along with the Bluetooth updates, running my BP in two locations.
I have used other cheaper BP monitors that offer Bluetooth and they did not work all that well. I find that the BP7450 does an excellent job with the Omron Connect Android App. It is very simple to use and has fingerprint support. My current procedure is to take my BP, leave the BP Monitor on, open the Omron Connect App, and synchronize it with my phone. (For some reason, Omron forces you to use location services in order to update readings, so I temporarily turn that on, get my reading, and turn it off. I don’t like being tracked by Google.)
The app shows my goal as being 135/80 while the BP monitor expects you to be below 120/80. My old BP monitor also reads over 135/80 as being high. My BP is never going to be below 120/80 unless I’m reading it after an hour long workout. It can be a bit depressing being told your BP is high every day.
I think that should/could be an adjustable setting. But, that is a minor nit.
Another plus is that the power plug and the Arm Cuff are interchangeable with my BP785N. The “air plug” is a little different, but I could swap it out if needed.
Overall, I think this is a great product. I think it is worth the extra to get an upper cuff unit, and at this price, it is not much more than a wrist cuff unit.

I got the blood pressure monitor and was starting to set it up. As part of that I downloaded the app. When I started it, the app made it clear that my data, not just blood pressure but whatever else it can scrape out of the Apple Health app as well, will be stored in the US. It will be shared with 3rd party companies and used for tracking, tracing, and marketing. I’d have to be mentally deficient to agree to this. The monitor is going back TODAY. What’s more this is the last Omron product I will buy.

This monitor ( Omron 10 Series Wireless Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor BP7450 ) is a good one. The cuff is very easy to wear. I haven’t verified this device reading with my doctor. Will update the accuracy later.
The only thing is changing the TrueRead mode setting is not a straight forward. The TrueRead mode takes 3 consecutive measurements and apply the average. You can set the interval between the readings ( 15,30,60 or 120 seconds) If you would like to turn-on TrueRead mode later, you need to press the Bluetooth button and accept all the date prompts to change the TrueRead settings. They should have a separate button to turn off or turn on the TrueRead setting. I am not removing Arm Cuff Air plug from the monitor. I always attached the air plug to the monitor as I read some reviews says the air plug can break if you remove and insert often ( I didn’t do any research whether it really breaks or not). The BlueTooth sync is easy.
Please note while adding the monitor to your mobile app ( 1st time ) , you need to select an user on your phone . If you do not select an user ( 1 or 2 ) , it gives a misleading error saying that “the selected user is already assigned and do you you want to overwrite?” Make sure to select an user on your mobile app while adding your BP monitor to your iPhone App. I synced with Iphone X ( iOS 14.7.1) and no issues.
The App has a nice graphical representation of your readings. You can also change it to list view.
You can share the result to the registered email. I don’t see anyway to send directly to any other email except the one you used to register with “Connect Omron App”. I don’t see sharing through other apps like whatsapp.
Overall the monitor is good one. I still need to validate the reading with my doctor, but the readings looks correct from my history.

Bought in June 2020. Used less than 10 times. The blue connector connecting tubing to unit started to leak. It clicks in but does not create an adequate seal to allow reading of BP. This has been reported a number of times by other buyers. So, while the actual unit is great the flaw that actually allows it to work makes it not worth wasting your money on this device. Look elsewhere for another unit that has a secure attachment. According to other buyers of the same unit the only solution Omron offers is to purchase an entire new cuff/tubing unit. Disappointing!!
