JonniKray –
I recently started using Orgain Organic Vegan Protein Powder, and it has quickly become a favorite in our household. As someone with celiac disease, finding a truly gluten-free protein powder that takes the necessary handling precautions to ensure minimal cross-contamination is crucial. I’m happy to say this product fits the bill perfectly. I would rate this product a solid 5 out of 5 because the nutrient values and the flavor are unmatched by anything else I’ve tried. Even my kids love it, which is saying something!
What I Like:
– The flavor profile is fantastic. I’ve tried many other protein powders that have a very artificial taste, but this one has a rich, chocolatey flavor that even my kids love. It’s a treat to have a little bit of this every now and then.
– Each serving provides 21 grams of organic protein and 7 grams of organic fiber, which is great for our daily nutritional needs.
– It’s USDA organic, gluten-free, kosher, vegan, non-GMO, and soy-free. There are no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, which makes it a healthy choice for everyone.
– It mixes well with water or milk, making it a convenient option for post-workout recovery or a quick snack during busy days.
What I Don’t Like:
– My only recommendation is to use a smaller container. The product is measured by weight, and the large container size can give the impression that you’re getting less product for your money.
My Final Thoughts
The Orgain Organic Vegan Protein Powder is an excellent addition to our diet. The delicious chocolate flavor and high nutrient content make it a winner in our book. It’s a hit with both adults and kids in our family. If you’re looking for a protein powder that tastes great and is packed with good-for-you ingredients, I highly recommend this one. Just be mindful of the container size, but other than that, it’s perfect!

The packaging quality is excellent, and the vegan protein tastes delicious. Compared to other brands, this one works best for me.

I have many food restrictions for medical reasons, so finding products that I can use safely can be challenging. This is my go-to protein powder because it’s plant based – no dairy, no gluten – so as someone who is lactose intolerant and wheat sensitive, I can use this without any repercussions. There are 21 grams of protein per serving, which helps me reach my daily protein intake goals. I usually use the powder in smoothies, but I also stir it into oatmeal for a different taste experience. It mixes in smoothly. I always buy the chocolate flavor because, like every protein powder I’ve tried, the chocolate helps mask the taste that seems to be inherent in every product of this type that I’ve tried.

This protein powder is tolerable but I wouldn’t say that it tastes great by any means. I was looking for a product similar to the HMR Protein Shakes and I would say this isn’t a good option. I will finish the container I have but will not repurchase.

I have used this product for years. It blends well in the different smoothie recipes I make. The chocolate is by far my favorite, but I also use the vanilla for the fruit based smoothies that I may not want chocolate in. It has a slight grainy texture but that is with most powders. It does not compromise the taste and well worth it. I use this product as a way to boost my health as I have autoimmune diseases that prevent me my living my fullest.

I love this , I mix into my oatmeal shake /drink gives it a good taste to it. Gives me the energy I need for the day. Definitely recommend it.

I bought this as a meal replacement. I also do 16:8 fasting, and this is my first meal every day. I needed something that was always at ready and also good for me. Otherwise my hunger would drive me to eat bad things.
For my “base” recipe, I mix 2 scoops with 12oz almond milk, 100 g frozen banana slices, and 40 g avocado.
It’s around 400 calories, but it fills me up and keeps me full for hours.
Taste:
I noticed an aftertaste from the sweetener the first couple of times I tried it, but I hadn’t at that point come up with my recipes. I don’t know if I’m used to the taste now, or if something I add masks that. But I don’t notice it anymore.
To be honest, I’m not crazy about just the base recipe. I need more flavors, and I also need variety to keep from getting tired of it. So I have created little flavor pouches that I assemble ahead of time to throw in with it. The packs I assemble range from negligible calories (mocha) to around 100.
Mocha (2 tsp instant coffee) – add to vanilla or chocolate
Peanut Butter / Chocolate Peanut Butter (3 tbsp pbfit powder) – add to vanilla or chocolate
Blueberry (1/2 cup blueberries) – add to vanilla or chocolate
Chocolate Orange (1 orange, 1 tsp special dark cocoa powder) – add to chocolate
Gingerbread (1 tsp ginger powder, ½ tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp molasses) – add to vanilla
Snickerdoodle (1 tsp cinnamon, 2 tbsp pbfit powder) – add to vanilla
Mixed Berry (½ cup frozen mixed berries) – add to vanilla or chocolate
Peaches and Cream (1 cup peaches) – add to vanilla
Strawberries and Cream / Chocolate Strawberry (1 cup strawberries) – add to vanilla or chocolate
Texture:
I have always used a blender, and I’ve never experienced graininess. To me, this feels and tastes just like a milkshake, which is awesome because it has stopped my cravings for actual ice cream. Ice cream has always been my biggest weakness.
At work, I use a $17 blender: Hamilton Beach (51103) Personal Blender with Travel Lid, Single Serve, For Shakes & Smoothies, Black. It works fine for this. You don’t have to have a great blender.
The key for me is to prepare ahead of time. When I get the container in, I go ahead and measure it all into snack size pouches I can split between work and home. I also freeze avocados in individual servings. I slice the avocado meat into a snack size baggie and then smash it and freeze it. When I’m ready to throw it in, I microwave it for 10 seconds. I do the same for spinach. There are instructions online that go into how to blanch and freeze spinach for smoothies. I add spinach randomly when I feel like it, since it doesn’t alter the flavor or texture. But I’ve found that if I add it to every smoothie, I get tired of the smoothies faster. Not sure why.
Do your research, play around, and you’ll probably figure out what works for you.

From all of the plant based proteins I’ve tried this is the least chalky. I find when it’s mixed with coconut milk or other dairy alternatives it gets thicker and makes it more of a meal consistency. I keep buying this brand.

The product is good.

Taste like hot chocolate 🍫
