I appreciate that the gate is not very bulky or heavy—it works great for deterring our very old Chihuahua! I would not recommend it at all for keeping out any pet who might try to push it over; it is definitely not able to withstand any weight put against it at all. But, it is actually cute and works well for any small, older dogs who wouldn’t attempt to break/push through it. It is incredibly easy to pick up and move to another location.

This simple gate is very lightweight and quick to place. I would not use it at the top of the stairs because it is light, but to block access to a room, or at the bottom of the stairs it works very well.. I have purchased more, I like it so much

As an under $20 item, this would get 5 stars. It works, it looks nice out of the box. I don’t expect it will hold up for a long time since its so light. I think it can be damaged easily and I think the paint will be chipping.
For what I’m using it for, (to barricade my porch while outside with dogs) it serves its purpose. If you have dogs that jump on the gate, this is not going to work without securing it to something. My dogs are mannered in such a way that they Naturally stand back from it and don’t even try to touch it. But for $40 I will replace it with some sturdier material when the time comes.

I have a small but clever 6 pound toy poodle mix and he never fails to escape into places around the house he should not be in. I bought this gate the first time for the top of the staircase, leading down to the front door and it has been extremely useful to keep him from running down the stairs. Recently my family got a new carpet and he loves to dig around and bite it so I purchased a second one. It’s really helpful and it’s the perfect size for him. However, it is a little short so if you’re looking for a wide, long gate you should be careful when measuring. I measured the length and width of the areas I planned to use it in and it’s extremely accurate. He is small and thankfully he does not try to fight the gate that much where he always escapes. However, if he was bigger he would probably knock it down. It’s very lightweight and easy to carry around. Super happy with this gate.

I initially started to return this because I did not think it was sturdy enough. However, if you put it in a doorway and use that to support it, it works just fine. It does not have support legs, but for the price, it is a good deal. I use it for my puppy to keep her out of areas when I do not want her underfoot, so the portability and light weight of this gate is perfect! It’s made out of sturdy painted wood. She has not attempted to chew it at all. And she loves to chew!!

The amazon photo shows the door open for human to walk through. Both gates I received the doors open only for an animal to go in and out. Amazon did offer an exchange or refund. However, I already put them together before noticing. Amazon did give me 15% refund. I thought that was very nice offer after stating I’ll keep them. The positives are: The wood lovely, heavy. The size is 32” which is high for jack russell yo stay in place. The fence comes with 5 feet to keep it standing. I purchased another company and I had to buy extra feet. Maybe i received 2 defect doors. Too heavy to box up and drag to post office so I am very happy with my outcome. -easy to assemble, sturdy, strong and lovely wood & the discount allows me to find attachment to make a door. In the meantime we slide an end open.

I’m really like the gate :):) I ordered a second one (shortly afterwards) for my friend to use at her home when my poodle visits. It’s light weight to carry. The paint has a sheen to it making it smooth on the hands when handling it.
I bought a different style a few years ago from Amazon that was designed to fit into the doorway frame – it had to be manually adjusted to fit – it was always awkward to get a “tight seal”. It had a built-in gate which added to its heaviness to pick up and carry. It had alot of vertical slats which added to a bulky overall look.

I like them aesthetically but they’re pretty flimsy/easy to break as I ordered 3 and one arrived with a broke post. I tried to reach customer service but I couldn’t and only had an option to return not replace. They’re also pretty light weight so I’d only recommend for a small dog as a larger dog could probably knock it over.
I also caught these on a crazy lightening deal and got them for like $8.99 or $9.99 each? Definitely not worth $50-$60.

This gate is usable right out of the box. It’s free standing and stable. It doesn’t scratch hardwood floors. The accordion design is flexible – you can open at both ends. The gate is lightweight yet sturdy and looks good. Suitable for cats.
