This Pioneer head unit replaced a decades old cassette player/radio in my boat. So far i have no complaints. İt was easy to install. İt is very lightweight and at first felt cheap in my hand but that’s because there are no mechanical parts in this unit like a cassette/CD/DVD/BR player. The unit produces enough clean power for my 16′ boat. İt has all the features that i need in a boat stereo and more. Happy with the purchase.

This is a pretty good radio if you if you really do a lot of streaming or your Bluetooth to your phone you got to remember there is no CD player in this radio which is no good for me I’m a CD guy

For $79, this is EXACTLY what I was expecting! Excellent quality, easy install – you can’t go wrong. Sounds great in my old pickup.

I’ve always used Pioneer head units in all my vehicles and I have always been very satisfied with the quality of the products. If you are like me and you’re looking for a simple head unit with just the basics to play music easily in your vehicle then this is the head unit for you. I am not an expert in installing auto electronics and this unit was simple to hookup by just following the instructions provided and a little research on my specific vehicle application. The Bluetooth is very easy to use and never gives you any connectivity issues and the sound quality is exactly as expected from Pioneer. Could not ask for more out of this head unit and the price was unbeatable!

This is a great little radio. It fit perfectly and the Bluetooth is easy to set up. The power of the unit is perfect for powering my aftermarket speakers. I plan on expanding it with a pair of subs in the near future.
Eric Gladwish –
I had a subpar brand unit that failed in my golf cart. I replaced it with this Pioneer MVH-S230BT when it came up on a flash deal. I have been a fan of Pioneer products since the 80’s and have never had a problem with their head units, speakers or amps. I still use a 30 year old Pioneer amp to drive two 10″ subs in my truck. This MVH-S230BT is a basic non-CD head unit that fits my needs for my golf cart with 4 speakers. I may need to add a subwoofer and this unit has the RCA outputs for an amp/sub. The Pioneer units that I have owned in the past have always had better than average FM tuning and this one is great as well. I get much more FM channels now. All other features work as they should. If you are looking for a quality brand basic non-CD digital media head unit, then this one is recommended by me.

Tired of the aux cord to the tapedeck. Road trips are a breeze and I should have bought this year’s ago. Sound quality is amazing. Worth every penny, I feel like I have a stereo system and all I did was go digital with a new Bluetooth deck.

What a piece of trash. The radio plays fine when its connected… but,
Ill be playing from spotify and it will randomly play some unknown mp3 files built into my samsung phone. Like out of nowhere mid song. Every time I drive, multiple times.
The app will alert me at random times that it nots connected to the car when im on the couch or in bed. I silence the app, wish I could uninstall it but need it to play tunes.
You need the app to play it. My samsung and my wifes Iphone have both been unable to play via usb, or the aux jack.
Charging your phone through the usb, no music will play no mater what I do. CAnt even play bluetooth.
Connected via bluetooth, it will play music on your phone while also playing the radio stationS. Cant figure out why your music sounds lofi, your probably on radio while on blue tooth.
App wont auto connect and start playing. Its about 50/50 you turn the key on and its rocking, and the other half of the time your in the drive way for 5 minutes figuring out how to get music going.
Its not worth the hastle. Trust me. Now im looking for a more expensive radio. Im not even willing to sell this to someone else, im going to trash it.
