Makes a cheap violin sound great.
Natalya –
Good string set for my violin, last 5 years I used to use this brand. Thank you!
Steve Nunley –
I’ve been through at least 10 sets of strings trying to find the sound I want. I believe these will do the trick. The quality is substantial. The tone on my fiddle is beautiful now.
Brian T. Clem –
I bought it last month and I keep it until this month because my violin is not ready for set the string up. Today, I unboxed the package. I saw G string is already used and there is a wound near the ball end. I think someone might bought it and used for a while and then return it. I am very sad but I got a lesson from it. I will not buy violin strings via online.
BillV4 –
These strings provide a good, clean sound on my Fiddlerman “Artist” violin. It took about 2 weeks for the strings to settle in, requiring frequent tuning during this period (as expected). But now they are sounding great and play well.
Bobbyk –
Will substantially diminish wolf tones on student violins.
David Emery –
I love Tonica strings. Really best bang for the $$. So I was excited to try the NEW formula. SAME as the NEW COKE back in the 80s. WHY?! Why change a great thing? At least the ONE SET that I have tried, and it’s only one set… so don’t take this as definitive, but just my experience with this set of new strings was very disappointing. The old formula stayed in tune from the first day. Like a ROCK. But this set took a lot longer to settle and even after a few weeks it still isn’t rock solid stable.
Could be just this batch. I am not going to avoid Tonica. I still need to try out more sets of the new formula before I give up on a string that I loved so much.
