Light arrived today. Charging was straight forward. I’m using the rack bracket mount instead of seat post or seat stay mount. Installed easily. Other reviewers said the light was difficult to turn on. That is an understatement. I had to use the end of my house key to engage the switch. Other reviewers suggest the switch becomes less stiff when usage. We’ll see. Otherwise, it does what I want.

Update: I just learned there is now a revised version of this light that fixes the flaws. Five stars for the new version.
Original review:
I purchased this light, because of it’s combination of a trusted brand, low price, low weight, small size, decent battery life, and good brightness, and mounting options.
One of the big advantages is the mounting system, which allows you to easily mount the like to the bike, or to just clip it to a bike jersey pocket, backpack, or pannier. If you have several bikes, this can make a huge difference.
The button: I was about to return this light, because I thought the button wasn’t working properly. I figured out that the button works just fine, but you have to push it on the back edge, not in the center!
Lastly, the light bizarrely refuses to charge via a USB-C-to-USB-C cable. I tried three different power sources, and five different cables. All combinations of USB-A-to-USB-C worked, including with a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter, but none of the USB-C-to-USB-C did.

This light really packs a punch. Even in bright sunlight, it is easily visible. If you accidentally look directly into the light, you will see spots; that is how bright and effective it is. Wow.

Set this up along with a front light for my new road bike. It was super easy to install, and also includes a few different attachments in case you need to install it in a non-standard way. It has a quick release mechanism which will be very convenient for recharging (similar to it’s front light brother). No issues that I’ve found so far!

Now I have always been a fan of the original Planet Bike Super Flash and have a Planet Bike mounting bracket on my active bikes (a folder for the Light Rail commute, and a touring frame urban bike with racks for shopping bag carriers) and transfer the Super Flash from bike to bike. I had just purchased a Super Flash USB, and was looking around Amazon.com when I saw a Rojo 100, and not listed on the Planet Bike Amazon shop. Since I was accessorizing a large heavy and expensive cargo Ebike, with a secondary role for the Bike commute, I thought, $35 isn’t too bad a price, and I still had the Super Flash USB if I didn’t like it, And as it turns out I really really like it. It is much brighter then the original Super Flash, still has the same Super Flash flash pattern (but much brighter) plus additional flash patterns that are less eye annoying and suitable for daytime running light use.
The only real improvements needed would be in the documentation. The usb-c port to charge it, looking from the rear, the bottom rubber cover peels off from left to right (and do this to avoid prying off the rubber cover) And you will need to take off any thick hand gloves before you can get your thumbnail to activate the on/off switch (which also changes flash modes) that’s on the top of the device
Highly Recommend This !!!!

It’s USB-C. Waterproof. Battery life is good. And the modes are both “someone can’t miss this” without getting close to “carve the eyes outta the person behind me to inspire their hate”.
The button on it sucks; you can’t really turn it on and off without swapping modes once or twice. If they made the button suck less on a newer model, I’d buy it. I am in somewhat disbelief that in 2023 USB-C charging is super rare, but here we are.

After trying several lights, I finally arrived at the Rojo 100 and this is exactly what I wanted. The USB-C charging works well. I can plug it into my computer, to a wall plug, wherever, and it charges just fine. The attachments included offer plenty of variety in mounting options. I have it attached to my rear bike rack and it is sturdy and clips off and on without ease. The light is bright and the four modes offer all the versatility I need. The power on / off switch is a bit difficult to press but gets easier to use over time.
All in all, this is a solid product and I am very happy. Thanks Planet Bike!

I really want to like this light–but can’t recommend it in it’s current iteration. Fit and function on the bike are fine. The light charges via USB-C, **but it has to be a USB-A to USB-C cable**. I have various Apple and Anker USB-C power bricks and USB-C to USB-C cables at home and at work, but none of them charge this light. Only the included USB-A to USB-C cable with an old iPhone power adapter worked. Contacted Planet Bike customer service, they advised that the behavior is expected–it can only be charged with a USB-A to USB-C cable, and some future revision will allow USB-C to USB-C. The A to C conversation was bad enough, now I have to worry about having the right combo of an old USB-A adapter with an A-to-C cable, for my bike light? Sorry, it’s going back.
