I received the cage very quickly. The Pervue cage was easy to assemble. The cage was to replace my old bird cage. It is very sturdy. It is easy to clean. Pervue cages are pretty good quality so I am very happy with my purchase.

The shape and size of this cage are pretty unique in providing a good amount of space inside for birds while having a shallow profile that won’t take up a lot of room in a small apartment. It also fits perfectly into the back seat of my car for traveling with my budgies. I really like that there’s a slide-up door inside the large swing-open door, as well as the two small slide-up doors at the sides of the front, and I like that the side bars are horizontal, both for budgie-climbing ease and for hooking additional food dishes onto. Speaking of the food dishes, these are some of the best I’ve found! They’re a nonporous hard plastic; they’re clear, so you can easily see the food or water in them; they have a removable hood to help reduce mess and keep the dish contents clean; and there are no sharp-angled corners for microbes to hide in, making them really easy to clean well. I bought several extras!
I would love to see this cage with a small swing-out door on each side, but it works pretty well as-is, too. I took off one star because the hooks that hold the roof of the cage onto the front and back sides all face outward, rather than having the center face the opposite way from the outer two, and this means that when I carry the cage by the top handle, the roof can come unhooked from the front and back of the cage. Obviously that’s dangerous for the birds inside! I’ve had to zip-tie the roof to the front and back to make it travel-safe. The hooks holding the wire part of the cage to the plastic base are very large and secure, at least. The pull-out tray makes daily cleaning pretty easy; the bottom grate wasn’t well made, with no bordering wire going around the whole thing to contain the wire ends – the ends of the wires were just sticking out at the sides – and I dislike having to disassemble the whole cage to remove the grate for cleaning anyway, so I just threw it out. Those issues aside, it’s a sturdy cage and a great design that fits well on top of my bedroom dresser.

This is the exact same cage that we style and company we bought from years ago. My singing finch who is over 12 years old has been a happy camper in this cage. It’s easy to keep clean once you get the hang of it and the bars are spaced perfectly for these little birds. Any wider and they may squeeze out or worse get stuck and strangle.
The longer design of the cage is important for these birds who fly back and forth rather than up and down as parakeets and cockatiels do. It’s so important for your birds safety and happiness to have the right cage.
We’re delighted that the company still makes this durable cage and is available for our new finches. Highly recommend and suggest you look into what’s best for your pet bird!
