I is absolutely amazing, you can put there everything, and you need only this case and nothing more to take with you, notepad, cables , microphone, notes, shoulder straps, everything you want you can take with you in one case, very good material, color and quality, thank you , it’s not very heavy but not very lightweight, it’s between , thank you 💜

This is a very good saxophone case. I did a lot of research both online and in the music shop and landed with this case. The functions are very well thought out and my son‘s favorite part is the pocket in the back to hold his music folder so he only needs one hand to carry everything. He uses the handles and the backpack function. Extremely lightweight especially compared to his old case. We are very happy with this Saxophone case.

This is my review months later after travelling and using the Protec alto sax case and I’m thoroughly impressed. Not only does the vibrant purple colour make it stand out, making it incredibly easy to spot amidst a sea of cases, but its functionality and durability are truly top-notch.
One of the standout features of this case is its exceptional security. The robust construction instills confidence that my saxophone is well-protected at all times. The thought of accidentally dropping my instrument is no longer a source of anxiety, as this case provides a level of security that gives me peace of mind.
Moreover, the interior layout of the case is intelligently designed, providing a snug fit for my saxophone while still allowing for easy access. The padding is plush and provides ample cushioning, ensuring that my instrument remains safe from any potential bumps or jostles during transport.
The best part about this case, however, is the AMOUNT OF SPACE!!! So much room for books, reeds, extra mouthpieces, and an entire sectioned-off part for backpack straps makes it AWESOME and super easy to care by hand or on my back.
Overall, the Purple Saxophone Case exceeds expectations in both form and function. Not only does it look fantastic with its eye-catching colour, but it also delivers on its promise of providing superior protection for my instrument. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and would highly recommend it to any saxophonist looking for a reliable and stylish case.

UPDATE: I could not find a contoured alto sax backpack style case that had padded storage pouches, so I reordered the Protec Max contoured case and created my own padding and hacks to protect needed items. I stitched a double layer of quilt batting onto an old sturdy placemat folded in half (perfect size) and velcroed it into the top pocket of the case. For further protection of items, I wrapped my spare mouthpiece in soft cloth and tucked it into a sturdy spare glasses case. I also gathered loose items (cork grease, pencil, earplugs etc) into another glasses case just for easy access. These helped form a protective “bridge” across my reed case. (see photos).
In addition, I was happy to find that the bottom pocket of the Protec case was sufficiently sized to accommodate my JazzLab Sax Holder “neck strap”.
It took some time and work, but now I feel confident in this case to protect my sax accoutrements
as well as the Yamaha 82Z itself.
This alto sax case seems convenient with its back pack straps sturdy and and its protection for the body of the instrument, the neck and the mouthpiece. However, I was disappointed that none of the exterior pouches were padded. This creates a lack of protective space for my reed case and my spare mouthpiece. (Also no padded place for my glasses case). I suppose I could wrap my spare mouthpiece in a large soft cloth and tuck it into the bell of the horn, but that is not exactly convenient for quick set up of my sax. And it still puts my reed case at the mercy of any forces that might bang or bump into the case. That’s not a chance I am willing to take. So, sadly, I will be returning this and just sticking with my old rectangular case with the extra storage area built into the protective interior of the case.

Needed a new case and this was perfect. Nice and snug and lightweight with plenty of storage

Great quality
Much lighter than my original Yamaha case
The alto fits perfectly
Expensive but worth the big $$

Well made and efficient. My Alto sax fits in easily but securely. There is really good padding all around although the outer covering is canvas. I believe this case will and does a good job of protecting the instrument. May not hold up if thrown off a building roof, but, I don’t usually do that. It has a top pocket that is good for holding your reeds and other small items of that type. You have different options for carrying. As a backpack type for which the back straps are perfect, over the shoulder or by either of the two carrying handles, one at the top and the other along the side. When it is on my back I hardly know it is there.

Bought this to replace a gig bag I’ve been using for 25 years. Lightweight, good protection, great price. Couldn’t be happier with this case.
Eric –
Light and sturdy and plenty of pockets space. The non-zippered pocket used for backpack strap *does* fit 8.5″x11″ letter paper with room to spare (see pic) and so does the zippered pocket under it. It can also fit folders that are a little larger than letter size, and I even tested a small ringed binder fits in that zippered pocket. Presumably also A4 letter would fit. But large folders or binders won’t fit. Also the front pocket seems big enough for a regular flute, but my glory flute with B extension case seems is just slightly too big to fit. The interior fits my vibrato plastic alto, though not absolutely snugly, but provided I ducktape a bit of foam at the spots where it is loose, presumably it will fit perfectly. And plenty of options for how to carry the case. I also have their bass clarinet case and am pleased with that, too.
Eric –
The alto sax fits in it like a glove! Tight and secure. The original Yamaha hard shell case is too heavy. Our daughter has expressed so many times how happy she’s now that she can easily carry her sax. I was concerned not being able to find this case in town. Our other daughter has a trumpet case of the same brand (bought locally). These cases are high end and worth every penny.
