Fits YAS-62 well, just needs a gap cap, or pad saver to take up the space at the neck. If you use Protec’s bell storage and fill the pouch well enough, the horn won’t budge when you put it in the bell. As a bonus, I found a place to stuff an airtag below the built-in mouthpiece cup. This is a very well thought out design, seems protective and is really compact.

At $270 CAD this is excellent value for the money. The outside shell is made of very similar material to a Boston Sax Shop Ambassador Case which sells for a lot more money. The inside cushioned compartment is very nice and soft while being supportive for each part of the instrument. The mouthpiece holder is a nice update to all previous Protec offerings and is rigid but plush. The mouthpiece and ligature fit snugly but it doesn’t accommodate my mouthpiece cap. Big or odd-shaped ligatures may not fit IMHO. The neck slot is also greatly improved over the Protec Pro Pac design. A nice cozy spot that keeps it in place without a Velcro strap-over system. Everything seems high quality and the backpack straps are very useable. The magnetic “snap” around the carry handles doesn’t add extra protection in case the zipper ever failed, but you could reinforce the whole case with an inexpensive luggage strap to prevent accidental opening in any situation. I don’t foresee the zipper failing from any reasonable use. The zipper is great quality and has the eyelets in the zipper pulls for a wire luggage lock to hold the pulls together for a little security. The case will not protect your instrument the way a larger case will, but the trade off is size and weight. This thing is small. Adding a pouch or bag for in-bell storage of accessories is a must. There’s simply no other real estate here for anything. You may have to reevaluate how your reeds travel and the size of your neck strap – which is even more relevant for Altos where space in the bell is tight. Tenor bells afford much more space inside. Large bell horns such as Keilwerth, Cannonball or P. Mauriat are not recommended – I don’t think they will fit in this model. Featured here with my Mark VI, which “standard-sized” modern horns are all essentially patterned on. Overall a very cool gig case that currently sells for a lot less than anything from BAM. I would recommend this case for any minimalist type Saxophone schlepping!

Just purchased for my Yamaha Yas-82z. Fits perfect. Very sleek case. Zipper appears very sturdy. Sax fits snug. Enough room for mouthpiece and neck. I use a pouch in the bell for neck strap and reeds. I recently tried crossrock case and returned. This protec case is a nicer quality build and better price. I have a P. Mauriat 67, it will not fit in this case or the Crossrock. Way too tight. If you are looking for compact, protection, and nice design, this Protec zip case is it. Can only pack the essentials.

By its compact nature it doesn’t have much padding around the horn though. Good enough for hand carry but I wouldn’t submit it to any more significant impact at risk of damaging the sax.

以前からネック＆マウスピースをベル内でなくケース内収納するフライトケース(ハードケース)を探していたため良い仕様です。以前ゲーター製フライトケースを使っておりましたが、それより上ではと思います。なによりこの楽器本体とのフィット感は素晴らしく標準と遜色ないようです。無理なくかつ必要充分でしっくりとした収まりです。中身のクッションもある程度の弾力性があり安心です。ゲータ社のシェイプハードケースより中身の形状が丁寧な仕上がりの分楽器本体ヤマハYAS62がバッチリ収まり一切のぐらつきも反対にストレスも無く収まってます。寸法は楽器の外観を多少大きくした程度のサイズ感で大袈裟な大きさでない為背負った時の移動がとても楽です。とにかく62の収まり感は特質もので素晴らしいです。純正品以上と言うのは言い過ぎでもなさそうです。ジッパーはスムーズです。丈夫なハードケースの割に軽く持ち歩きの負担が軽減されてます。車の助手席へも楽に置きやすく快適です。おそらく飛行機搭乗で機内持ち込みサイズかも？フライトケースでは小ぶりコンパクトです。コンパクトな割にケース内にネック及びマウスピース各々別個なスペースで収納場所があって安心かつ使い勝手が良いです。街歩きではストレスレスですし練習に行くモチベーションもアップします。ショルダーの背当ての幅8cm長さ32cmのサイズも気が利いて丁度良く楽です。常に身の周りに置いての旅行であれば一切問題無くお供出来るフライトケースと言えます。自立が出来ないことをどう考えるかですが私は端から立てないので差し支えないと考えます。列車では座席に立て掛けるとか、車なら助手席とかに、デザインのベル部からの急激な傾斜(細まり)がなくとてもバランスの良いケースと思います。ヤマハ製サックスのフライトケースでの推奨ケースです。
