UPDATE: it’s now 2024 and both of my units are still working beautifully. Even if I haven’t used it in months, I’ll pull it out, find it not working and think, okay, this is finally it, it’s had it, hubs just snickers, replaces the batteries and it’s back in business. 🤠I actually got on this morning to see if they still sold these because I want an extra unit to travel with that I can always leave in my suitcase. I was thrilled to find they’re still being sold. Please don’t hesitate to buy this. It’s a FABULOUS price and when you can get 5+ years of service out of it (my original unit was purchased in 2017, so 7 years for it) that’s less than $5/yr for solid technology. If either unit died today, I still got more than my money’s worth and I’d immediately order a new unit.
UPDATE: it’s now 2022 and it’s still working perfectly! Granted, I don’t use it daily, maybe a couple of times a month but still. That’s impressive.
2020 my dog had some spine/leg issues. Vet wanted him to have TENS therapy and told me to bring my unit in for her to test the settings we needed for the dog. She was so impressed with how strong this was for a home unit, she asked me for the Amazon link and ordered one for herself and one for her mother! It’s an impressive little unit and I hope, if it ever dies, that I can get another.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I never knew I could get a Tens unit that worked as well (and feels just as powerful) as the one my chiropractor uses, and at such an amazing price to boot! And it’s a wonderful, portable size too!
I have a chronic disease that causes a lot of pain, this unit helps take my pain away and allows me to do more things that I wouldn’t have been able to do without it.
I wish I could give more stars than 5, as I feel in this case 5 is too low. I’d rate it a solid 10, I’m that happy.
If you are considering buying a Tens unit, I recommend this one. Both hubs and I love it!

Shattered my femur and incurred some other injuries in an accident recently, and TENS was recommended as a way to clear up the inevitable aches and pains involved in getting used to wheelchair living (and such). There’s also some (fairly contradictory) research showing that electrostimulation can assist in promoting bone growth, so I was anxious to try it, especially as it’s so expensive.
It’s relatively simple to use: You peel off the 4 electrode pads from the supplied plastic sheet, attach them to the affected body part, snap in the leads to the electrodes and the unit, and turn the thumbwheels on either side to dial in the intensity you want. (Tip: Start low, at 2 or less, and gradually dial up, or you will literally get an unpleasant shock) Then you choose the stimulation pattern you want.
The unit delivers a 15-minute session, which is one of the cons: There doesn’t seem to be a way to lengthen or shorten that time. Several research studies I found indicated that very low-voltage stimulation over several hours helped when healing fractures, so the ability to simply set an intensity and leave it there for an hour or so would be welcome.
Another con: The thumbwheels on either side of the unit control intensity, so you must be VERY careful when you slip this device in and out of a pocket. I’ve dialed all the way up to 10 a couple of times; doesn’t really injure anything, but it’s certainly not pleasant.
Not necessarily a con, but don’t expect the electrode pads that come with the unit (4, one for each lead) to last very long. I get 3 or maybe 4 uses out of one pack before it needs to be replaced. Syrtenty sells 44 replacement pads for $18.99;if you’re planning on regular sessions, get at least a couple of packs.

I had heard of TENS therapy for pain. To be truthful, wondered if it really worked, as I really didn’t understand what it was & had never used any before. I do see a chiropractor for adjustments & such fairly regularly, and am surprised that something of this sort was never offered to me. But this product is wonderful! Does it get rid of the pain permanently? – No. However, it greatly eases the pain, offering lots of relief! I have suffered from back pain since I have hit puberty (not trying to tell my age, but slightly more than 30 years now). Most of my pain is in my lower back – specifically sciatica. I often frequently have pain in shoulders & neck, as I was in a car accident 12 years ago with a severe case of whiplash. This product significantly improves the pain if not alleviating it until the next set of muscle spasms hit. I haven’t noticed that it helped my crampy feet after a long day yet, but I can’t say that it doesn’t at least feel good for a little while. Even though I can only stand it turned up to about a 3 or 4 at most for my feet. My back can withstand it to at least an 8, probably more. I didn’t want to spoil myself right away though. My calf muscles could only stand a 3 at most, as they are very sensitive. After only having this for only 24 hours, I immediately ordered the 10 4-pack of replacement pads, as my roommate is going to be using it also. She may purchase one for herself eventually, so we don’t have to fight over it. But the original pads that came with it – I have already used many times. Although they definitely appear very used, they still stick with no problem. I do keep them on the plastic & in the baggie in between uses though. I will agree with other commenters that it would be nice if there was a tick with each number adjustment, but that’s really minor. Maybe it will be used by the manufacturer in future upgrades to this product. I would have liked to receive a case of some sort (other than the original packing & box it came in) to store it in between uses. But I went to the local WalMart & purchased a pretty little pencil case from the clearance aisle for $1.00 to store it in. It fits in there a little tightly, but it serves it’s purpose enough. Great price for this item also! I definitely recommend giving this product a try before you knock it! You never know if it will help your pain if you don’t try it!
