This is a good value for a 2 person disk type tube..paid $85 vs $120+ for other models. Yes, this tube will absolutely nose dive if the riders start too far forward or are up on the nose when you are idling out. It’s simple to manage…just have people slide back a bit and just make sure you have a snappy start to pop the tube out of the water quickly. My 10 and 12 year old love the nose dive..for them it’s a great feature. They like to sink the front and dump their friends off it….they call it duck diving and it’s good sport with a cooperating driver.
If you want to tow 5 year olds around the lake at low speed, this is not your tube. But for older kids and adults looking for low and fast ride, it’s just fine. Another bonus is that it’s reasonable small when deflated and fits in the nose area of our Ski Nautique with room to spare.
4 stars vs 5 in recognition of the basic feature set. Features are fine, just not fancy. Construction seems fine as well….we’ve had the tube out mulitple times now and all is good.
Buy this if you are looking to save a few bucks, are ok with managing the nose dive and want a low and fast 2 person disk.

We bought two of these tubes to pull behind our boat. We used them ONE time and they’re TERRIBLE quality. They have vents under them for water drainage and one already is ripping and fraying (again 1 day on the water)
Also, the zippers on the sides are constantly coming undone resulting in a ton of water getting in the tubes and weighing them down.
These tubes also like to go under the water easily so you have to ensure you are sitting on the very back when you are starting otherwise the tube will nose dive under the water.

This tube is pretty good! It doesn’t rip easily. Lots of cushion. Also when you go on it, don’t go so far up on the tube because when the boat starts going, you’re gonna go under. But it super good for the price, overall it’s mostly better than the $300 ones.

We bought this for a last minute boat outing. The size is great for one large or two small adults or kids. The inflatable side bumpers do actually help you stay on when getting flung outside the wake. And it has a low profile so is easy to board in the water. Two complaints – the material at the bottom back end was shredded after a few hours of normal use (on a calm river and not at crazy speed), and two, it lost air throughout the day. It is still usable but I will be sure to take a 12volt pump on the boat with us next time.

I am very satisfied with this towable, especially for the price! Large and very comfortable, easy to board, works well as a floating dock when resting. I can’t speak to the longevity but it is built well and seems sturdy. The material is nice and thick. Since it is bigger it is not very extreme, which makes it perhaps a little less fun for older, experienced riders but works well for smaller kids starting out as well as riders who value a comfortable ride over getting tossed around (ie. Mom).

Im.5’7 160lbs and the diablo 2 is a blast. It’s super stable way outside on the glass. It handles the bumps with ease. Of all the towables I’ve ridden this is by far the easiest to get back on. I like the low center of gravity. If your an adult or teen who likes to rip around behind a boat the diablo 2 will not disappoint.

We had a great time with the Rave Diablo this summer. The inflatable fins in the rear help the kids (especially smaller ones stay on board during turns and bumps. The only negative we found is that it tended to submarine occasionally during starts if the rider wasn’t heavy enough to keep their weight in the back and the nose up. Our 7 year old was unable to ride by herself because of this. To be fair though, this was probably less of a reflection on the Diablo’s design as it was us towing with an old classic style Boston Whaler with hookups very low to the water. I don’t think bigger boats or ones with a center pole where the tow rope hooks up higher will experience this issue.
UPDATE 2/28/14: I just wanted to leave a quick comment on durability since others have had negative experiences. We’ve used the Diablo for 3 seasons now and it is still working perfectly with only normal signs of wear. Looking forward to another season with it this summer.

I bought this tube for our recent boating trip. I chose this one as it seemed to be good for children and those who want a “smoother” ride. It didn’t disappoint. This tube is very easy to mount from the water and the inflatable sides does a great job of holding on to the rider. The only thing that could be a problem is if the riders don’t weigh enough to keep the front of the tube up during take off, it has a tendency to dive under the water causing the riders to fall off. The remedy for this is for the riders to start as far back as they can then pull themselves up after it takes off. Quality raft for the money.
