As a student and teacher, I’ve always liked the Rubank books. However, many students I’ve had can find them dry because they focus mostly on technique and don’t always include many recognizable tunes. This is very true of this particular beginners book, so I would not use it as the ONLY book a for a beginner. However, it is very good at what it is designed to do, so I would use this book to develop technique in combination with a book like A New Tune a Day, which focuses more on playing recognizable tunes. For a student who really enjoys the clarinet and wants to excel, Rubank offers a focus on developing technique that is missing from most of the band method and other beginners books.

This is THE book to use to begin to learn clarinet. Exercises are tuneful and build in a logical way in keys of C, F, Bb, G, Eb, D. Increasingly complex rhythms are worked in progressively along with dynamics and articulation. The fingering charts are useful once you decipher them. There is not much explanation of how to choose among different fingerings, as instruction is assumed. This book is great for someone who is already familiar with musical notation and note reading.

Nella parte iniziale ci sono degli esercizi davvero molto semplici per poi passare a cose più complesse come qualche motivetto.
Penso che sia un metodo progressivo abbastanza valido..
