The seller of this item should really change the photos for this product. Fancy double tailed (fantail) goldfish get a minimum of 8 or 8 inches long and cheap feeder goldfish get over a foot long. The photos for this product are inappropriate for this product. This tank is sized for a couple cherry shrimp (Neocardinia davidii), a nerite snail and some small live plants. Possibly you might be able to keep a single Scarlet Badis or Pygmy Sunfish in this if your house or office is warm enough (because they are very tiny fish and this is filtered.) I would recommend an Anubis nana petite or bucephlandra super glued to a rock or tiny piece of driftwood and some salvinia minima as plants for this fish bowl as being appropriately sized plants. Plants will consume the nitrate produced by the nitrogen cycle in the fish bowl. This is a little too small for a Betta fish or a school of nano tetras or rasboras. I’ve been keeping fish for 37 years and this is my honest, knowledgeable opinion. I think that with the addition of an intake sponge on the filter, we will likely put our female ghost shrimp mama in this bowl to drop her shrimplets once she’s berried up with eggs, so the babies get a good start. Could also be used to get baby guppies past the vulnerable baby fry stage if you can find a 5-10 watt heater or your house stays over 68 degrees.

We were excited about this because we loved the look and size for two goldfish.
Unfortunately the filter never worked, and the water would be cloudy again after 12 hours. Extremely disappointing, would not purchase if given another chance

This fish tank perfectly fits with my home decor absolutely beautiful and our goldfish Guy Wilbur loves it. We just didn’t put the fake plant. Didn’t want to cut our goldfish when he swims. We put a lid on it too, to keep dust out. I don’t know why the Light stopped working but that didn’t last long.this is a picture when we just finished cleaning it so the wooden bottom is not it the picture.

 This is the perfect desktop aquarium. The instructions on the included pump/filter are completely in chinese so I used google translate to read it and found out that I needed to fill the pump with water first. Thank goodness for technology! The led lights seem too bright when looking from top but the lighting is really nice when viewed from the side. We arranged the provided plant and stones to diffuse the light for the fish’s sake. The pump is practically silent and circulates the water well. A very nice addition to my office.
UPDATE: I have had this Mini tank for 6 months now and it is still working great. I know pet stores recommend 1″ of fish per gallon tank but I have to admit I don’t want lonely fish so I have two Rasboras and one catfish as tank mates. It seems to be a great combo since the catfish helps keep the bottom cleaned up. Once a week I use a large syringe with a straw attached to suck excess debri off the bottom and cotton swabs to ‘wipe down’ the interior of the filter to keep everything fresh. I always keep a container of room temp bottle water handy to add back. I also added live plants tied to a rock. See new video.

 The rank of very nice, the filter is small and convenient BUT I was unable to slow the flow as bettas don’t prefer water current. So I had to raise the water level and the. Makeshifted a top so my betta doesn’t jump out. Looked almost perfect on my desk until these small issues

This is a cute little fish tank for any room. I think that it is better suited for a Childrens room or a book shelf.

This is a great little aquarium. I love that it lights up from the bottom. Its well made and durable. The only problem with it is the filter is a bit to strong for the fish. My poor beta kept getting stuck on the intake tube so I had to turn it off. The plant and rocks that came with it are nice, I just wish it came with more rocks. There were only enough rocks to cover a small portion of the bottom and I prefer the entire bottom is covered. Overall, this is a very nice aquarium, and Im very happy that I got it.

The motor to the Water filter is cheap quality and does not work. It’s a waste of money.
