This is absolutely the best stick vacuum. It surpassed the stratos stick vacuum which is an excellent vacuum also. It is more powerful than even the stratos if that is possible. It has a reconfigured floor head and it stands on its own. The powerdetect on it is great. This vacuum will possibly replace every vacuum cleaner you have ever had. I purchased the shark powerdetect upright and loved it but had to return because of the weight. This vacuum is as powerful as that one and is lightweight. Great Job Shark.

Right out of the box this vacuum feels like it’s worth the money. I have previously owned vacuums right in that $80-$100 range, all designed for pets, and they’ve gotten the job done but the difference this vacuum makes is amazing.
It’s lightweight and compact, but it’s not made of cheap plastic parts. The storage canister is very small, but I still found it perfect for my needs. I’m in a 1,000 sq ft apartment, carpets only in the bedroom. I’d say I’m 60% hardwood, 40% carpet. I have two dogs and a cat which all shed a LOT. I am able to do the hardwood area without needing to empty the canister, but I need to empty it once to get the full carpet area. Makes sense since that’s where the pets do all their sleeping.
The POWER in this thing. I notice it more on the carpet than the hard floor but this thing makes it feel like it wants to just go ahead and do the vacuuming itself without you. The lights are such a nice touch, something I’ve never had before and now I’m not sure how I ever vacuumed without them. The autofloor detection works great and immediately. If I pass over the door mat or crate mat, it immediately switches to carpet mode. It’s very powerful. While it didn’t suck up my door mat, I did need to wrestle it a little bit to make it let go of the thing. The maneuverability is great too, it easily turns and twists to get tough corners I’ve never bothered with cleaning before just because of the awkward angle.
Getting the handle to unlock can be a little tricky at first. You have to step on the base of the unit and the pedal at the same time, which I find a bit awkward but you get the hang of it. I also love how easy it is to switch to handheld mode. This is the first vacuum that’s actually done a good job pulling pet fur off my couch. Normally I have to use that pet fur rake to get it all off, but with the included attachments on this one, it sucks it all up immediately.
I LOVE this vacuum and highly recommend. I’m ready to toss out my ‘old’ one already and she’s only about a year old. I just cant imagine using it again knowing it doesn’t have the power that this one has. I’d much rather use this one and have to empty it one or two times than fuss with the weaker one.
I personally don’t mind the scent of the floor freshener, but I wish there was a way to turn it off on the hardwood floors. It seems a bit pointless and wasteful to use it there and would prefer it only apply when in carpet mode.
All in all, very pleased with it and I recommend, even for multi-pet homes.

This vacuum is nice and compact, so it’s easy to store. Assembly was easy, though it’s not clear to me where the hard floor attachment is meant to latch on or how it’s meant to be used. I don’t totally understand how you’re ideally supposed to use the wand either, since its end is so weirdly-shaped. I think the narrow attachment is pretty necessary to offer precision. So far, if I pretend it’s a flame-thrower, it seems to make more sense to me, so I’ll just stick with that (which is really fun). At least it’s easy to pull out and use while the vacuum is still running.
A packet was included that contained what is referred to as the “Odor Neutralizer Technology.” That’s basically a scented ring that you pop into a spot on the vacuum to perfume your area. I have no clue what industrial chemicals are used to create that fragrance, and I don’t see them listed anywhere, so there’s no way whatsoever I’m willing to implement that. Just taking note of it after unwrapping it, it produces a very strong fragrance that is not kind to my allergies, reminding me of what it’s like to get an instant headache. It was important to open the package, at least, since that’s where the cap for the item is, and I needed to be able to pop that specific part onto the empty slot on the vacuum to give it a complete, cohesive appearance. This fragrance ring is the sort of thing that’s meant to be tossed and replaced as it wears out.
The cord is nice and thick, though it’s not as convenient as my stick vacuum that uses a rechargeable battery. This vacuum is way better in pretty much every other way, though, so I offer it forgiveness. Anyway, the way the cord wraps around encourages it to bend at too severe an angle from where it issues forth, so I make sure to leave some slack before winding it.
This vacuum is really cool and super powerful. I pre-vacuumed an area with another vacuum and then followed up with this one, and I was seriously impressed with how much extra dust and debris this picked up in even a small area. This really gets things clean. You simply press the power button up top, and it gets moving, sucking up everything. On carpet, if I don’t hold it back and just let it loose, it propels itself forward at such a speed that I can literally jog along with it. On hard floor, it offers more resistance. Though you can toggle it manually, it automatically senses whether I’m vacuuming hard floor or carpet pretty much instantly and shifts its function appropriately. On my hard floor kitchen, as soon as I run it over the short rug in there, it switches to carpet mode, and then once I’m off the rug, it’s right back to hard floor mode. It’s extremely accurate and instantaneous. I tried it on every various rug type and carpet I have, and it chose the correct option every time. For reference, I have some of the shortest pile carpet, I have shag carpet, and everything in between. I love that it has a readout at the top showing what mode it’s toggled to. And down at the vacuum base, it indicates whether it’s vacuuming hard floor or carpet via another digital readout.
When you stand it up, it does stand up on its own without moving. To get it moving, instead of stepping on some switch, you simply hold the base down with you foot and then start lowering the handle downward, where it unlatches automatically and gets to moving the vacuum forward.
Once I figured out and performed the process a few times, I was relieved that it’s easy to remove the small debris tank and empty it into the trash. There a mesh cone in there that always has hair wrapped around it after a vacuum, and the hair slides right off of that and into the trash.
