I am blown away by the performance of this vacuum. I have vacuum on each floor of my 3 story house (don’t judge, I’m in my 60s—they’re awkward and heavy on stairs). I have a Sanitaire and an Oreck (uprights) as well as a Oreck canister. I recently purchased this Shark vacuum for my finished basement. Well, it has out performed both of the other two and has established itself as my go to vacuum. It has great suction. It’s lightweight and highly maneuverable. I love that it can be used as an upright or as a hand held unit. There are plenty of attachments for any number of needs. I also like that it can be set for hard floors or carpet at the touch of a button. But its best feature is that it pulls a LOT of dirt out of carpets you never realized was there.
I’m a homemaker. Cleaning is my job and I’ve been at it for more than 40 years. I vacuum every week or two. Today I vacuumed two large rooms, one average room and a walk-in closet. I emptied the (about 2 cups) dust bin 5 times!
If you’re looking for a reasonably priced vacuum the does its job and does it well, then your search is over. I would not hesitate to buy this vacuum again or recommend it to anyone.

After having a Dyson upright and an Electrolux canister vac (both over $500 each) I finally found a practical vacuum that does what I need it to do without all the hassles of the previous ones, and for $200 less!
Pros: It has great suction and is lightweight. It’s smaller head vs. the bulky $500 units is actually a huge PLUS considering the extra few passes it takes to cover wide open space. This is due to fitting into tight spaces better AND fitting under things! I could not be happier that it fits under not only the bed easily but also the large dressers and other furniture that are not easy to move. It fits under EVERYTHING. It seems to have good edge suction also. I like that the soft brush roll pops out easily and can be washed easily. Everything is user friendly and the hand pet tool with roller works well on upholstery, though not as much roller power, it’s sufficient for light duty. The odor neutralizer seems cool but for myself, I like that you can run the unit without the scented cartridge if you want. I like to keep things organic and I’m guessing the cartridge isn’t made with essential oils. But I really don’t know. The power cord is high quality and is super long. So you do a lot less plugging and unplugging. So refreshing for a change. Cons: Dust cup is small so you have to empty it frequently. I’m able to empty it once per room but I do have a smaller home. But it’s quick and painless to empty so it isn’t a big deal for me. The motor vents which exhaust heat are on the side so it does hit you with warm air. That’s kind of unavoidable with stick vacs it seems by the nature of the design, but they could be facing forward rather than on the side. But all vacuums put out heat and I sweat no less with this one. The only other thing, and it is a small thing, is when laying the unit flat to get under something you have to be mindful of the power button on the top or you can bump it by accident, but that’s ONLY when laying the unit flat. Frankly it’s a simple user adjustment to circumvent, especially compared to my poorly designed Elextrolux with the controls ON THE HANDLE. lol Lastly, it has a bit of a higher pitch sound which may take getting use to. Kind of like the sound of a blow dryer. Oh well, I can always use ear plugs if it should be a nuisance. All things considered these are minor 1st world complaints considering all the problems you can have with vacuums and poor designs. I’m super happy with this unit and NOT just because I was abused for so many years by the Dyson and Electrolux, but because it just treats me right! I’m calling it my NON-STICK VAC because I finally found one that doesn’t stick it to ya!

Knowing my carpet is clean!! You can feel the vacume working. It feels sturdy and strong. The odour technology is a bonus. The vacume seemed to warm up after 20 minutes of vacume. The only recommendation I have is is maybe not so much for a petite woman. It seems quite tall. I’m 5’6″ and it seemed tall, but maybe I have been vacuuming wrong all along. The pictures were taken after 1st use on a already vacumed carpet. AMAZING..hope it lasts!

Es silenciosa lo más que se puede en aspiradora, si cierras el cuarto, ni se escucha que estas aspirando. Es potente. Aspira muy bien. NO PESA. Ocupa poco espacio. Muy bien con el polvo y pelaje mascotas. Tengo 2 gatos y 7 perros…y solo con esta aspiradora esta limpia la casa. Muebles camas, piso, La recomiendo mucho

Where to start???
First off, cordless is fine but has it’s own issues such as battery life, charge time, and battery longevity (they stop holding a charge after a while). Eventually they hold such a short charge the product is unusable. Buy new batteries. Yes…. Because a cordless stick vacuum isn’t expensive enough as it is. LoL!!
So, having to plug a vacuum in is far from an inconvenience. Also, having a corded motor means more power, more suction.
The Shark HZ2002 Vertex stick vacuum is a MONSTER with a whopping 380 watt motor and a 30 foot cord.
It has dual rollers in the head (which is a powered head to add). One at the rear with bristles and the front with a polymer rubber fin design. So it’s abilities to scoop up debris from laminate floors, linoleum, hardwood or any hard floors is flawless.
Vacuuming kitty litter and afraid of getting 500mph granular projectile blasted back at you? No fear. The HZ2002 Vertex doesn’t let a single morsel out of it’s vortex. It sucks everything in and nothing escapes.
As for carpet, the suction is also unparalleled by any vacuum on the market in this price range. My carpets look brand new. I was ready to rent a bin and chuck all of my area rugs. The Vertex HZ2002 had such an incredible impact on these carpets because it lifted deep dirt and tracked-in debris with it’s impressive suction power.
The triple air filter system is another bragging point. Easy to clean, and recirculates the exhaust air without worry of blowing dust or allergens back into the air you are breathing in.
In addition, this vacuum is GREAT on pet fur that gets dug into the fibres of carpet and furniture.
It comes with a smaller furniture head as well as a bristle fitting and a long tappered hose for hard to reach, tight spots.
What else? It is VERY maneuverable and agile. The LED lights on the front are awesome and bright.
The canister SEEMS small but it is perfect. And super easy to clean.
Cordless vacuums have to conserve power so the head on them is powered by air flow and gearing which is inferior for proper suction.
This vacuum has restored my faith in companies again. I started to think everything in this world was low quality and overpriced gimmicks. Thank you Shark!! I will be a loyal customer for the rest of my days if you keep delivering phenomenal products like this that work flawlessly. You raised the bar in the vacuum industry.

The problem with stick vacuums is that they don’t last more than a few years. Replacement parts are costly so just buy a new one. The way of the world. This is my fourth in 13 years. The first was a Dyson. Never again. Bought a Shark that held up except for the roller. Next one, another Shark. Was an OK machine but was very hard to separate the hand held unit from the wand. It was very noisy and started to fail. So now here comes the Shark Stratos. Of all the ones I have owned this one is the best so far. Easy assembly, lightweight, no problem separating and reattaching components, noise level is reduced from the others. The dual roller works great. No hair tangled on the rollers after use. Easy to empty dirt cup. And it does pick up lots of dirt. Easy storage of hand held unit on the hook attached to the wand. Extra long cord. I am in a condo and if I plug it in a centrally located outlet I can vacuum the entire place. Hope this one lasts. I really am satisfied with it.
