Replaced my Specialized Roubaix 105 11-27 cassette with 12-23 “corn-cob”. Requires Park tools FR-5G Cassette lock ring tool or equivalent. (Not the freewheel tool). It is also recommended to use a sprocket removing chain wrench Like the Park Tools SR-1.
This freewheel was the only option to get a 14 tooth rear sprocket. (i.e. 20 MPH at 93 cadence). The change-out took 20 minutes. This unit comes with an extra spacer and it is unclear whether you need it or not. In my case installed without the spacer the inner cog ran into my plastic spoke guard. I installed the spacer and it did not. The shifting is much smoother than my existing (4,000 mile) cassette. It would probably work better with the short cage version of the Shimano 105 rear derailleur. This is definitely not a cassette for climbing hills, but on the flat it is a dream.

Wheel and Sprocket sells high quality bicycle parts at very affordable prices. This Ultegra Cassette is one example of the large inventory – with prompt shipping and great return policy. This is a great source for bicycle parts. Highly regarded and highly recommended !

used it on a wahoo Kickr to fit my older 10 gear bike

Here’s a scenario: You go down to your LBS and pick up a bike off the shelf. “Wow, this is a great deal!” They tell you its a 105 bike and you are super excited to get a bike with great kit for a great price. You get the bike home and go for a few rides then a few weeks later start looking through specs to find out how you can make the rig faster (without training harder) Your local bike shop probably didn’t bother giving you a full run down of every component so you go bike them on the Makers website and then you have this epiphany! “This isn’t a full 105 bike or Ultegra (or what have you)” The brakes are actually a cheap Tektro variant, the crankset is probably something by FSA and the cassette in likely Tiagra.
Now you know why your bike was so well priced. If you’re smart you take the FSA crank off right away and post it on Ebay. hopefully you get $40-$50 and that can be plopped down for a new Ultegra crank that is super stiff and provides instant response. After that you tackle the rear Cassette and the jump from that Heavy Tiagra to Ultegra is immense.
This Ultegra Cassette is fantastic. If you live where there are hills (10-15 degrees and up), you’ll love this cassette. you’ll be the guy laughing on group rides when your buddies on their fast racing bike with 11-21 cassettes or 12-23 cassettes are killing themselves out for the saddle crawling up big hills while you sit down and enjoy a nice casual stroll up the hill.

Cassette was as expected for Ultegra level quality. I was trying to decide between XT 10-32 cassette and this Ultegra 10-30 cassette. I am replacing an older Dura Ace 10-27 cassette. Looking for additional lower gear range. Dura Ace is super light. The XT was the heavier than the Ultegra. Decided to stay with Ultegra since I have Ultegra road group. Did not disappoint. Flawless shifting and smooth transition gear to gear. You will need cassette chain whip and cassette locking tool to remove and install the new cassette. Otherwise is very easy to install.

3 words..:Great, Great, Great!!!
Ok…some more words…buttery smooth. Wonderful! This fixed my very annoying chain skip and gave me a really excellent excuse to upgrade!

Amazon me dio la oportunidad de conseguir este casete que ya no encuentras en tiendas, ni de broma ni sobre pedido. En este aspecto Amazon representa una oportunidad muy práctica

This was my first time buying and installing a cassette and it was very straight forward. You do have to have a chain whip and an adapter key to install any cassette but otherwise it was done in 15 minutes on my first attempt. After 5000km and now on my bike trainer, I have no complaints.

Mit Shimano macht man keinen Fehler. Die Verarbeitung ist wie gewohnt super.

I use this cassette on my GT Road bike with an Ultegra chain and it works great. Durable, reliable, and a nice low gear for getting up the steepest of hills with just two rings in the front. I would normally give this 5 stars – but I am deducting one for Planet Cyclery. I will NOT order from Planet Cyclery again. I received this cassette in a bag. There was no Shimano box or labeling of any kind and the unit was in pieces. It was a joke. It doesn’t appear to be used and I’m going to try to put it on my bike. But when I’m buying a new unit and paying a new price – I expect a new – in the box unit in one piece.

I continue to use my older bike group sets as they are extremely reliable & give me any gear ratios I need.

Good quality as expected.

2009 SRAM Force short cage derailleur is recommended to work with a max 28 tooth cassette but this 12/30 Shimano cassette works great once the B-screw is adjusted to fit the 30.
