I definitely give this case a 5/5 rating overall. It’s sturdy, built well, and fits both my old Taka-Guild F366S and Alvarez ABT610E very well.

I took two stars off for value, just because $188 is WAY more than I’d pay for this case under normal circumstances, flight-ready or not. I got mine through Warehouse Deals at a great value, and that’s the only way I’d be able to afford one of these.

One star off for weight, but I’d much rather have a case that’s a little weighty and protective rather than something lightweight that will break easily.

Overall, I like it very much and will keep my eyes out for another good deal on one.

Excellent case. On a par with Hiscox cases.

Built like a damn tank. It’s heavy, yes…..but that’s just the quality talking….I put my Yamaha CJ-818SB in here and it’s perfect. Plenty of room in the accessory compartment. I love this case. I bought an SKB case in 2000 for my Takamine and it has survived numerous trips around the world. I knew it was SKB for my next guitar and I’m pleased with the updates to design that they have made since 2000. Great latches, molding and handle. I think I may replace my old 2000 case also, but it still works and looks good, so I’m in no hurry.

Doesn’t seem all that well made to me. I bought it for airplane carriage which it handled just fine. but the original case for the guitar (Taylor GS5) actually seems a lot stronger/better made and certainly fits the guitar better. But since the SKB has the TSA lock, you can lock it so there is less chance of the case somehow popping open when the baggage handlers deal with it. OTHER than that, the stock Taylor case is better in every way.

Excelente cómo todos los estuches SKB. Le queda a una Gretsch Falcon y similares de cuerpo Nashville como guante. El precio algo elevado, pero lo vale.

I don’t know how it fit so perfectly. Sturdy and excellent TSA locks included. Lined internally with some kind of felt lining. This will travel well and for a long time. Went to the Guitar Center and they were selling some $120 piece of crap. Should’ve been a gig bag and $50 – though I wouldn’t but it from them.

This is so worth the cost and it was delivered in 2 days. All I hoped it would be.

My guitar is just a bit too long to fit “Dreadnought” cases. I asked around at local music store and was told Fender and Gator could built me a custom case for $1000.
Money being tight, I decided to keep looking until I stumbled on this SKB case. I the internal dimensions, found on another site, looked perfect so I ordered it.

This case safely transported my guitar on 2 plane rides so far and I’ve been using it as my primary case since. I’m definitely going to look at SKB first for any future needs.

I found only one thing I would change and that is the hinge on the upper part, towards the neck. It is very floppy. Other than that, I can highly recommend this case. It fit my “Inspired By Gibson” Epiphone J-200 like a glove. I mean there is absolutely no space for that guitar to move in the case, zero room. That’s how a guitar case should fit. If they would fix that one, small issue, this would be a perfect guitar case.

This case fits my ’96 Taylor 815c well. The strings can ring freely with the lid closed but there is not obvious movement and the padding seems nice enough. The external plastic is thinner than I thought it would be and I probably wouldn’t check it as baggage but it does seem sturdy enough for daily use. I doubt you can stack any weight (other luggage) on top of the case and have good protection. For back and forth transport to church and storage in my closet it is more than adequate.

The main issue I have is the scalloped bottom of the case at the neck. This shallow profile means very limited storage in the pocket under the neck. In a “regular” case I can carry roughly twice what this case can transport. Iv’e attached picture to show the profile of the case as well as the pocket which is full with the following:
    Leather strap
    Snark Tuner
    Capo
    picks
I’d like to be able to have an instrument cable in there as well.

It’s fine basically. But no better than the run-of-the-mill hard case most guitars come with anyway. I was hoping this would be good for flight. I can press down on the front and the back with not much effort and travel quite a distance. If some baggage due was climbing around the compartment and put his knee on it, it would crack your guitar for sure. Don’t let the TSA latches fool you. This is NOT a flight case.
