It’s an excellent sound system with Sony’s crisp clear sound quality and high quality built and materials.
While it’s not a full theater sound system and does not provide a full theater surround system experience, it still is a huge step up from the TV speakers. It doesn’t give a huge “wow” factor but it does a great job providing a crisp clear sound. The bass is not over bloated and is smooth, which is great for watching the movies. It’s ok for listening to the music but it’s not what it is designed for.

The TV used to pair this soundbar with is Sony Bravia XR X90K. I tried to use Bluetooth connection, which was immediately recognized by both devices and the sound quality was good with no delays or whatsoever. Also, tried with an 8K UHD ARC HDMI certified high quality cable through an eARC port on TV. The TV immediately recognized that there is a Sony Soundbar connected and offered to complete a setup. The bass lines do sound slightly crispier through the cable but the difference between BT and HDMI is hardly any noticeable.

La Sound Bar se escucha genial. Tiene control de volumen general, y otro específicamente para el bajo (para quienes nos gusta que retumbe). En mi opinion fue buena la relación calidad precio y si lo recomiendo.

For reference, I use the HT-S2000 in the primary bedroom, paired with a smart TV which I stream all content from. I also own two other Atmos soundbars, being the Sony HT-Z9F and Samsung HW-Q930B. I would not cross-shop the HT-S2000 to those as they both have the obvious benefits that come from separate subwoofer and surround speakers. However, I have used the HT-Z9F both with and without the surround and subwoofer, and the HT-S2000 is significantly better sounding in that scenario. Just make sure to set up this unit correctly!

Where most reviews miss the mark on this model is that it’s better suited to rooms where you don’t want to add a subwoofer or surround speakers. Both the bass and the sound field from this standalone unit is impressive.

For setup, you must change the Sound Field setting from Sony (default) to Dolby, as I found the Dolby setting gave me the clear and full sound I was hoping for. By contrast, the Sony setting sounded compressed and required higher volume level to hear dialogue. To emphasize how important this setting is, if the only option was the Sony setting, my rating would change from 5 stars to 3 stars and I would not recommend it. There is also a DTS option, but I wasn’t able to test it.

Conclusion: This is a a perfect small room soundbar for watching TV and movies. It is loud and has enough bass to enjoy movies without a subwoofer. The Dolby sound field setting provides clear dialogue and good surround/Atmos decoding without the need for surround speakers. Highly recommended if your use will be similar to mine.

I had a budget of $1k so I got the A2000 along with the RS3S bookshelf speakers and I’m loving the upgrade from the s100 I was using. The bass is actually pretty good without using a subwoofer!

I have tried this in croma and compared with all available soundbars (JBL, Samsung, Croma, Boat etc) but in this everything is just perfect. We have -+ bass settings in remote. No need to connect woofer from soundbar with wire as you can place them anywhere you want separately. Many features are there but the best one is sound+bass quality, it’s seriously next level.

I looked at a lesser version of this at Costco that wasn’t much cheaper and didn’t get very good reviews. This item was a little more expensive, but had great reviews. When there was an open box unit available at Amazon Warehouse for less than half of the regular price, I ordered it immediately. Set up was pretty easy, though the open box unit was missing the optical cable that was supposed to be included. Once it was all hooked up and the setting changed within the TV, it worked just fine. It turns on/off when the TV does, and the regular volume controls for the TV remote control it as well. After the initial setup, I haven’t needed the included remote control. The sound is certainly an upgrade from the regular TV speakers, and the bass can thump pretty hard when asked to. Does it sound as good as a higher end unit, of course not, but it’s fine for daily use in our family room. Two little gripes. The volume is slow to respond…it takes holding the volume button down for a bit to get it have any noticeable change in the volume. Also, there is some weird “feature” that if the volume is pressed too many times in a row quickly, the volume will go up to max or min (depending) all on its own…which can be deafening. I should probably read the manual about this… Anyway, for the warehouse price, I’m thrilled with this purchase.

Easy to set up. Impressive sound with sufficient bass—you don’t need a subwoofer. I love the performance, and you certainly get value for the money you pay.

What great sound! This Sony sound bar is quite impressive when paired with my Sony tv. The set up was a snap as I used hdmi 3 on my tv, the arc connection. Next I paired it using -blue tooth- with my phone for music. I listen to Amazon music and use an I phone. I mention the I phone as the Sony OS is android (google tv) and some might think Apple users could have issues, not so in my case. Furthermore, I do not use any of the google settings on the Sony platform and instead run my tv through a Roku 4k stick, and great wifi, which is how the sound-bar operates as well. If you have a Sony tv, the integration will be automatic and work well. I did have some disappointment in the remote that came with the sound bar. Not much customization possible and even digging deep into the audio settings and sound field options on the tv there still was no way to increase or decrease treble, very minimal bass control, and no equalizer at all. Having said all of that, I am still loving my purchase and very, very pleased with the sound from both the hdmi connection and the bluetooth on my new sound bar. The remote is very basic, but works. I ended up putting an app on my phone as the little light on the front of the bar was on bright all the time. I knew there had to be a setting- it is called dimmer, and for some reason the remote that comes with the sound bar is missing that setting! The app I put on my phone is available using a QR code on the quick set up paper, it is called “Home Entertainment” and has the dimmer setting buried within the settings options. I also found other remotes from Sony that had the dimmer button included and have ordered a cpl to try. I am not wanting to grab my phone and open an app each time I watch tv- and the light will come back on (I turned it completely off) if you power off your equipment – I said power off, not turn off. Turning off the tv and bar leaves them in a ready state and they pop right back on… Powering off is what I do each night at the surge protector, or if I am to be away for the day.
Overall this is a finely tuned piece of sound equipment that can more than stand alone as a tv bar, or bluetooth music streamer. The sound will surprise most, with NO satellite speakers of any kind needed. It is possible to add on, but for me this sound bar is very impressive and provides much better sound than the tv alone while giving me an option to bluetooth any number of music options from phone, tablet, or Alexa device. The bass is good, the depth of sound is very good and I plan to use it daily. You will fall in love with the sound as I have, and this price for “Sony sound” is an excellent bargain in my opinion… PS, if you ever carried a Walkman, you know exactly what I mean! Update: I did purchase a compatible remote w/ the “dimmer “ control, worked immediately- the light now stays off, have not had to change the setting since… purchased right here for a very low price, I actually ordered two different models to try and they both worked! Love my Sony sound!

This sub has seen very little use. I bought Sony soundbar rear speakers and subwoofer. I intended to change over from Samsung to Sony. My next purchase from Amazon would have been the Sony OLED 55 inch BRAVIA XR A80L Tv. After having the Sony wireless speakers hooked up to my Samsung for a little over a year the Sony SA-SW3 200W Wireless Subwoofer would not power up. I contacted Sony support they refused to warranty the Sony SA-SW3 200W Wireless Subwoofer since it was out of warranty a few months. The young lady then gave me a number to their consumer repair service. I talked with another young lady at their consumer repair service. She informed me that they do not work on products out of warranty. I replied so this subwoofer is essentially a paper weight. She answered yes said sorry but their is nothing we can do. Definitely not changing over from Samsung to Sony after this experience.

If you decide to purchase this sub I recommend you get it from your local retail store. Make sure you purchase the extended warranty. There is a reason there are so many online stores selling this sub as a refurb.
