Da ich hin und wieder ein paar Videos mache und diese auch mit Sound & auch etwas Musik untermalen wollte bestellte ich hier SOUND FORGE Pro 18.
Wobei ich auch gleich bei einem und bisher einzigem Punkt ankomme, den ich bemängeln würde, denn hier bekommt man den Vouchercode nicht per E-Mail, sondern noch richtig oldschoolmäßig in einem Versandkarten, der diesen enthält. Warum es nach wie vor bei MAGIX so gehandhabt wird bleibt wohl deren Geheimnis.
Auch ist eine Registrierung und es muss ggf. ein Kundenkonto bei MAGIX angelegt werden. Was aber wirklich nicht schlimm ist, denn es hat auch seine Vorteile. Da ich die Software für das Editieren von Videos schon seit langem nutze, habe ich da schon seit Jahren ein Kundenkonto. Selbst nach Jahren hat man hier noch die Informationen der Lizenz gespeichert und kann über das Konto das Programm neu herunter laden und auch auf einen neuen PC übertragen, was bisher immer wunderbar funktioniert hat.
Auch wird man von MAGIX nicht min unnötiger Werbung bombardiert sondern bekommt lediglich ein paar Infos oder Angebote, wenn es für die Software ein Update oder Upgrade gibt und natürlich auch ein Angebot, wenn es eine neue Version gibt, die dann kostenpflichtig ist. Dabei ist das Angebot preislich oft recht fair.
Nachdem man die Lizenznummer eingegeben hat, kann man das Programm herunterladen. Ca. 2GB an Daten müssen den Weg durch das Internet zum Zielgerät finden, bevor es los gehen kann.
Natürlich sieht es für den Anfänger erst mal alles etwas überladen aus, da das Programm richtig viele Möglichkeiten bietet und zusätzlich noch diverse Plugins installiert werden können.
Auch wenn man ein wenig Zeit braucht, so kommt man doch ganz gut rein und auch zurecht.
Eine ganz tolle und auch hilfreiche Sache ist z.B. die Möglichkeit sich die Oberfläche einfach individuell auf und für sich ein zu stellen und diese auch zu speichern. Top!
Ein weiteres nettes Feature ist das “Text-To-Speech”. Hier generiert die eigene AI aus einem geschriebenem Text eine sehr realistische Stimme, die diesen Text spricht.
Auch wenn SOUND FORGE Pro 18 sicherlich nicht die günstigste Software für Musik und Soundedition ist, aber sie ist auch nicht nur sehr umfangreich, sonder auch richtig gut. Gerade für Menschen, die sich dann auch gerne etwas mehr in dieses Thema vertiefen wollen kommen hier voll auf ihre kosten.
Natürlich konnte ich hier bisher nicht alle Tools ausnützen und ob ich überhaupt mal alle brauchen werde könnte ich wohl auch anzweifeln, aber das was ich bisher genutzt habe gefiel mir sehr gut und es hat mir auch wirklich Spaß gemacht, da auch alles problemlos und stabil funktioniert hat.
Somit empfehle ich auch sehr gerne die Version 18 von SOUND FORGE Pro weiter und vergebe selbstverständlich auch volle 5 von5 Punkten in der Gesamtwertung.

Ich habe dieses SOUND FORGE Pro 18 über das Amazon Vine Programm zum Testen zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen. Die Software kommt in einem praktischen Versandkarton und enthält sogar eine Backup-DVD – ein toller Zusatz, falls man mal einen Download-Fehler hat.
Die Verarbeitung und die Benutzeroberfläche sind wirklich gelungen: alles fühlt sich sehr intuitiv an und die Funktionen sind gut strukturiert. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Vielseitigkeit des Programms. Von grundlegenden Schnittarbeiten bis hin zu komplexen Audioeffekten ist alles dabei. Ich habe es für die Bearbeitung meiner Musikprojekte verwendet und war erstaunt, wie präzise und schnell ich meine Tracks bearbeiten konnte.
Alles in allem eine top Software für alle, die im Audio-Bereich professionell arbeiten oder einfach ihre Aufnahmen aufpeppen möchten.

I like the software and think it’s great, but the price is a little high for what you get (in my opinion). I would recommend if you edit sound for a living, but not if you’re getting it for small or indie projects. Also, make sure you have a disc drive prior to purchasing. I thought I had one and found out after I got it that I didn’t. Haha Other than the price, does what it says it’ll do, so I would recommend if you can get it cheaper.

As an avid musician, I love messing around in the home studio, playing and editing, but you are only as good as your gear, and this DAW is good gear. I have used many DAWs throughout the years, some easier than others, but all somewhat difficult and having their own learning curve. This program is no different, so expect to spend some time navigating, but it is feature rich once you get rolling. It is hard to simplify how diverse and comprehensive this software is without you trying it or watching some videos. Maybe that is the ticket, go watch some videos about it, then you probably won’t question it. I have used previous versions of Sound Forge (when owned by Sony) and it was wonderful then for recording ad spots and track mixdowns. It may not be quite as user friendly as Adobe Audition, but just as powerful. Quality is worth the price and most programs this comprehensive come at a high, but well worth it, price.

This is a bit overwhelming and intimidating at first. Like most audio editing programs there is a bit of a learning curve to get proficient at it but it does make basic functions very easy to get access even for a novice. I’m not super sold on the AI features quite yet but the program is definitely very loaded if you find a way to leverage them. It is a bit on the pricey side but fair for what you get.

Ich wollte das Programm eigentlich, um den Sound meiner youtube Videos zu verbessern oder irgendwelche Soundeffekt hinzuzufügen. Meine Videos sind in 4 K, 3840X2160. Bearbeiten kann ich das alles, nur leider lässt es sich nicht brauchbar abspeichern. In der Grundeinstellung gibt es beim Speichern gleich eine Fehlermeldung, ich habe dann über benutzerdefiniert noch einige Formate ausprobiert, die dazu passen, dann klappt zwar das Abspeichern, nur leider lässt sich die Datei wegen Fehlermeldung nicht öffnen. Für mich also ein nutzloses Programm.

I won’t pretend to be an expert in audio editing, I just dabble in music making as a hobby. As a hobbyist, this software more than meets my needs, providing tons of capabilities that I don’t use. My typical suite of software includes Native Instruments Komplete and Cubase. I mostly have used this software for some audio editing and playing around with mastering. I am not at a level where I am taking any music, mastering it, and then putting it on any store platforms, this is mostly because I enjoy the process and learning. I found the toolset for these things to be very intuitive and pretty fast on my middle of the line gaming computer. Overall I am happy with this.

Ich kenne die Magix-Programme seit bald 20 Jahren und ich kann nur sagen: ich war begeistert.
Für knapp 50 € bekam man ein Video-Programm als auch ein Audio-Aufnahme-Programm, das an den die großen Soundmaster, die im vierstelligen Bereich liegen, zwar nicht heran kam, sich aber absolut sehen und hören lassen konnte. Und ja, sogar für öffentliche Shows waren / sind die Programme tauglich.
Also, keine Frage, griff ich bei Sound Forge zu, als es mir zum Testen angeboten wurde.
Leider hat es nicht die guten, alten Magix-Vorteile: super Preis und einfache Bedienung.
Für 300 Magix-Euro hatte ich sehr große Erwartungen. Die sehe ich nicht erfüllt. Vielleicht war meine Vorstellung, hier ein Studioaufnahmeprogramm zu erhalten, ganz einfach falsch.
Ich finde die Oberfläche nicht ansprechend und die Bedienung nicht einfach. Man muss sich ganz schön reinfuchsen.
Vielleicht nur etwas für Spezialisten, und für die, die ganz genau wissen, was sie damit machen wollen, sollen und können.

Seit weit über 25 Jahren ist Sound Forge meine erste Wahl, wenn es um Zweikanalrecording, Schnitt und Mastering geht. Ich bin quasi alle Versionen mitgegangen, auch, als die Software von der Sonic Foundry zu Sony und dann zu Magix ging. Und ich bin wirklich Fan – bis heute, ich glaube sagen zu dürfen, dass es zum Editing kein besseres Tool gibt. Schon die frühesten Versionen hatten die Möglichkeit, mit VST-Plugins zu arbeiten – das ist dankenswerterweise bis heute so geblieben. Und auch der semiprofessionelle Anwender kommt schnell und sicher in die Software rein.
Was ist über die letzten Versionen gleich geblieben bzw. was macht die Software für mich aus? Zuerst einmal werden quasi alle relevanten Codecs unterstützt, auch die exotischen. Wird einmal ein spezieller Codec oder eine besondere Samplingrate benötigt, z.B. weil bestimmte Dateien für die Verwendung auf einer Telefonanlage mit proprietären Formaten zurechtgemacht werden müssen, vereinfacht es den Workflow doch erheblich, wenn aus Sound Forge gleich das richtige Format rausfällt und man sich nicht erst mühevoll mit separater Konvertierung herumschlagen muss.
Als Schnittsoftware empfinde ich Sound Forge immer noch als mit das Beste, was man haben kann. Ich schneide inzwischen wirklich alles in Sound Forge, früher hatte ich einen DAVID/DigAS-Schnittplatz und selbst da habe ich eigentlich immer alles in SF gemacht.
Man kann halt bis runter aufs einzelne Sample genau schneiden (was man extrem selten braucht) und mit dieser Möglichkeit selbst hundsgrobe Versprecher glätten/editieren. Klar wird hier in Zukunft KI noch eine bedeutende Rolle spielen, aber gegenwärtig braucht man solche Tools nach alter Väter Sitte einfach noch fürs tägliche Arbeiten. Wenn man sich einmal daran gewöhnt hat, will man nichts mehr anderes. Kompressionen über dünne Stimmen rechnen, eine Aufnahme final normalisieren und dann für die CD oder fürs Airing fertigmachen – alles ist in SF ein paar Klicks entfernt. Freilich ist es immer eine Frage, an welche Software man gewöhnt ist – aber SF ist für mich immer ein enormer Produktivitätsfaktor gewesen. Was hinzukommt, ist einfach die hohe Kontinuität: Seit 25 Jahren komme ich mit dieser Software bestens klar, auch dann, wenn mal größere Versionssprünge drin waren, war man als Nutzer nie “abgehängt”. Auch das ist der Grund, warum ich Sound Forge nach wie vor mein Vertrauen schenke. Was bei Sound Forge über die Versionen auch immer bestens und zuverlässig geklappt hat, ist die Hardwareunterstützung. Ich hatte noch kein Interface, sei es RME, Focusrite, Tascam oder selbst Behringer, wo Sound Forge die Arbeit verweigert hätte.
Was ist neu?
Diese neuen, exklusiven Reverb-Effekte sind schon nice. Um ehrlich zu sein, ich weiß nicht, wann ich die einmal brauchen werde, aber es macht schon Spaß, damit herumzuspielen und jeden noch so dünnen Sound richtig dick klingen zu lassen. Dieses Text-To-Speech-Ding ist für meine persönliche Arbeit weniger relevant, aber ich kann mir vorstellen, dass so etwas für Podcaster, die kurze Einsprecher brauchen und nicht auf beliebig viele Voices zurückgreifen können, ganz sinnstiftend sein kann. SF ist inzwischen zum 32-Kanal Recorder geworden und dann gibts zur Audiorestaurierung auch noch iZotopes RX 10, fals mal ein altes Tonband oder Kassette als Quelle herhalten muss.
Warum mag ich diese Boxed-Version?
Ich kann es nicht wirklich sagen – denn heute wäre es eigentlich nicht mehr nötig, diesen kleinen Schuber zu haben. Man muss die Software eh aktualisieren und sie wird auch online aktiviert (soll wohl auch offline gehen). Irgendwie fühlt es sich für mich aber gut und richtig an, selbst bei Software ganz oldschool was in der Hand zu haben. In dieser Version wird ein kleiner, generischer “Magix”-Pappschuber mit DVD geliefert.
Fazit: Sound Forge ist und bleibt eine Macht. Wer mit dieser Software noch nicht arbeitet, sollte es sich aus meiner Sicht aus den oben genannten Gründen sehr ernsthaft überlegen. Und mit knapp 300,- Euro für die aktuelle Pro-Version ist SF im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Mediasuiten noch nicht einmal teuer. Also ich kann SF wirklich uneingeschränkt empfehlen und auch die 18er-Version! Aber ich bin auch Fan.
