I am a first grade teacher. We are doing informational writing on insects. My class chose spiders. I was looking for an informational book that I could read to my class and use to take notes. My class LOVED this book and it had great information. Some of my higher readers were able to read it again on their own, which was an added bonus!

This was one of the National Geographic books bought for our 8 year old granddaughter for Christmas and she loved it. She said the pictures were really colourful and it contained a lot of information and she couldn’t wait to take it to school to show her friends. We will certainly be purchasing more of these books in the future

I like how simply-written this spider book is. It has a lot of information in it, but the sentences are short. The pictures are great, too. My grandson loves it.

It’s a nice book. It came in great condition. My little one carried it with him for a week straight so any damage in the pictures is from being appreciated by the owner. Images look nice and lots of color. Easy for a 4 year old to understand. My only complaint is that the book doesn’t have the names of the spiders on all of the images.
The book tells a bunch of different facts about the spider body, it’s webs, and how it lays eggs, and eats.
    Little one loves it.

This book is intense, haha. I bought it for my 2 year old who is taking an interest in bugs, thinking he’d find this book really cool. He likes to look at these types of books while in his car seat. Well, when I handed him this book, he was horrified and kept yelling ‘ewww!’ and getting more and more upset the longer he looked at it. We had to physically remove the book from him to continue the car ride. Let’s just say the pictures are amazing, a little too amazing. Very bright, colorful, realistic, and honestly hard to look at for some. It had litttle facts in big print through out. I’ll reintroduce this when he’s a little older. 🙂
