What a difference… from the noisiest bike on the group ride, to the quietest one. My bike shifts smoothly now. I had no idea how much difference a worn chain makes in shifting performance and drivetrain noise level. I also put in a SRAM rear cassette along with this, which I’m sure didn’t hurt, going from 11-25 rear to 11-28. The quick link included with the chain worked fine. I took out a couple links with my Crank Bros multi-tool chain tool, leaving 2 more links on than the original chain, to allow for the bigger cassette gears. It feels like the better chain also resulted in a small speed increase, maybe 1/4 MPH.

Nice 10 speed chain, long enough for 58 / 11 combination on a TT bide, with even more links available. Includes the quick links too.

A really great replacement chain. I have about 580 miles on it now and have seen no change in performance. My application is mountain biking so I am not kind to my chain. I attached an image of my old chain to demonstrate my lack of kindness toward bike chains. Notice how I have cracked a roller completely off of my old chain. The new chain runs very quiet with no sticky links. The new chain looks to be of a more precise manufacture. Although Onogo US delivered promptly..ahead of schedule..Amazon still thinks my order is in transit. As such I will rate Onogo as a great seller here in my review since I cannot rate sellers until Amazon thinks they have delivered. Thanks Onogo US!

Stocking up for the upcoming biking season. The price was right, but the shipping wasn’t.
These arrived in a manila envelope. The packaging is each chain is in its own plastic box. There’s a fair amount of mass to a bike chain, and sliding around inside the shipping envelope pretty much destroyed the individual plastic boxes. The chains should be okay (there’s still snow here so it’ll be a while before they’re deployed) but I would have liked the boxes to have been intact. So there you have it: if neat packaging is important you might want to spend more somewhere else. If that’s not important then this price is hard to beat (believe me, I looked!).

It’s a good “working man’s” chain. By that I realize it’s not the chain to put on your $8,000 carbon-everything race bike. If you’re weighing everything to the gram level, you’re better off with a hollow-pin chain (KMC has the best prices on those, IMO). For a robust, get-the-job-done chain that comes at a very reasonable price, these are a great way to go. I’m a bit of a large meathead type on a bike (former wrestler and football linebacker turned cyclist) and sometimes I just don’t know my own strength and I’ll start with way too much power on the pedals from a cold start. This has resulted in a snapped chain more than a few times. For that reason alone, I’m not willing to shell out $80-$100+ for each chain I get. I’ve put these on a few bikes now and I’ve always been pleased with the result. I also recommend getting a pack of the KMC Missing Links here on Amazon as well and throwing them in your cycling pack (helps out with those aforementioned snapped chain incidents).

I’ve tried chains from various bands including Shimano and KMC, but this one is the best I’ve had. it run very quit, easy to install and remove (if you want to clean it or other parts like the cassette) and it last well (my Shimano XT chain broke). I was using it throughout the winter in mud and dust and it really held up well. and the price is the icing on the cake in this case. BTW I’m running this chain with Shimano cassette without any issues, so don’t worry about comparability issues

I had never changed my own bike chain before so I had to YouTube it, but once you do it once its super easy after that. A pair of chain pliers makes it really easy and a little less messy. A couple quick tips;
You will need a chain break tool, which is included on most bicycle multi-tools. This will allow you to size the chain to fit your bike.
The job is made easier with a set of chain pliers, but you can also use your hands or a set of regular pliers to remove the quick link with a bit more difficulty (depending on the condition of the chain), chain pliers just make it easier because of the special notches that perfectly fit chain links.
If you use the “large sprockets, plus 2 links” sizing rule, the length may fall in between links or land on an outer link instead of an inner link. Just move to the next inner link and break the chain there.
Once you’ve sized the chain and connected the quick link, you may see a small gap in the quick link and wonder if you did something wrong or got a manufacturer defect. The chain just needs to be pulled all the way tight and this might not be possible with greasy hands, but holding one wheel and pressing the pedal should provide sufficient force to tighten the chain the rest of the way and snap the quick link all the way into place.
