I really like this machine so far. I’ve only had it for a day so I cant say how effective it’ll be for weight loss, but having used it 2x since it was put together this afternoon, I can definitely say you will break a sweat easily.
What I like about this:
It’s easy to use and doesnt take up a huge amount of space which is a plus when you need an effective workout in a small setting. It was fairly simple to put together – but I recommend having a second set of hands because it is a bit awkward to put together (even with 2 people it was a little awkward). It’s sturdy and holds your weight and it is easy to move the seat and handles to workout – I havent gone higher than the 4th tension setting yet because I need to carefully work my way up to that due to health issues. You will absolutely get a good workout in even if you’re only using it for 10 minutes at a time.
Things that I dont like or feel could be improved upon:
The seat is a bit uncomfortable. The listing says it’s a “wide” seat but I would call it narrow because it’s really only about 10-12″ wide at a best guesstimate. It’s also sort of hard, so if you have any hip or tailbone issues, you may want a cushion for it. The foot “pedals” have an awkward strap on it that require you to wear shoes which is a downside for me because of health issues, but if you dont wear them your feel will eventually slide out of the straps – even with shoes, it’s still possible no matter how well the strap is tightened. It would be nice if there was something to secure the seat in place for ease of getting on and off of the machine for people with mobility issues (like me). Also, the seat is a bit wobbly with the way it attaches to the bar. And lastly, the grip on the handlebars is weird – after my first full 10 minute usage of the machine, it feels like it’s already starting to wear off because the texture is very off-putting – so if you have sensory issues at all, you may want to get some sports tape or something to cover it with.
Overall, Im pretty happy with my purchase and I definitely recommend this product. If that changes, I’ll be sure to update this review.

The good news is: I estimate a 500 calorie burn just for assembling. The hardest part was fitting the rowing arms into the machine, due to the awkward angle you must position yourself in, to fit the arms into the proper holes. These arms are not light, and you’ll need LOTS of space around the unit in order to get “just the right angle.”
1 person assembly (me)
Total time: 1 hour 10 min (from opening box to finishing assembly:). And this includes a break to go and find my yoga mat to place under the unit for wood floor protection, once I got finally retrieved the main part of the unit out of the box. See breakdown below:
15 Minutes: cutting all the tape off each part, and unwrapping
20 Minutes: assembling the front “base” and the back “base” (then I turned it over, as I realized I had it bottom side up)
35 Minutes: assembling the pedals, timer unit, two arms, and “placing” the seat onto the machine. This took me at least 5 minutes to figure out, as the instructions just said “insert” the seat onto the unit. What it really meant was “fit the seat onto the unit, and it will slide back and forth, requires no assembly or screws.”
I predict that 2 people could set this up in 15-20 minutes.
Literally, there are only 8 pieces to assemble, and this includes the timer unit, which just slides into a groove and plugs in.
I got on the machine and tried it out right away (of course!!) and it works REALLY WELL! I was initially disappointed, as it seemed too easy , so I figured I’ll just have to do dozens of reps to get a workout or tone up. THEN, I read the instructions (fully) and realized that the main “base arm” (I’ll call it) that is angled underneath actually has a rotating cup (like a dial) that includes 12 SETTINGS FOR RESISTANCE! So, I turned it from 1 to 4, and the #4 setting was much more difficult. I dared not try any harder settings as it’s been way too long since I’ve used a rowing machine (about 1.5 yrs).
It’s definitely more of a workout than kayaking.
This unit is so basic, which is why I love it so much. For the price, it’s definitely worth it, too. And no bells and whistles means “less can go wrong.” I’m more into body weight resistance these days, vs. spending hundreds or $1000+ on machines that include apps (what happens when your internet is wonky??) and bells and whistles.
I own a watch that includes a “paddling” measuring tool, so I wasn’t that concerned with the digital unit. It requires 2 AAA batteries, which you see from the pic are included — a $5 savings right there!
I include pics of the instructions for those who are curious before purchasing. Enjoy!

This rower is amazing. It was affordable. Very easy to put together. Fits perfect in my closet or hanging on my wall! Keep track of your time and how many reps. The slide is smooth and the foot slats tilt with ease. It is low impact on the ankles and knees. Love the intensity control very easy to use. The arm rotators swivel with ease. This machine is so quiet I am able to workout right next to my sleeping baby. Love this machine!!!

I was looking at a lot of the fitness machines available online, wanting something that would work many different parts of the body and also strengthen my leg muscles without stressing my bad knees, so was extremely happy when I found this rowing machine.
When I opened and read the assembly instructions, I was a bit intimidated – it looked like so many parts! Rest assured – this was easy to put together with the help of the video found on their “help with your item product support” page once purchased. I had originally thought I was missing some parts to finish assembly, but after watching the help video for this product, I learned that the pieces were attached to the unit, and all that was required was to unscrew and reattach to the unit, then tighten up with the tools included.
I used the rower after assembling and can already tell this is something I will use regularly. It is quiet enough so I can listen to music or watch TV while using. I have it initially on a low resistance until I can build up to a mid-point which is my goal. I hope to lose a few pounds by using this rower, but also retain or increase muscle in my arms and legs, and I feel that this will do the job. I am 135 lbs., but love that the machine will support up to 350 lbs. since my husband has shown interest in using this, and he admits to about 240 lbs.
The machine feels sturdy and comfortable. I took the advice of another reviewer that left a pair of shoes anchored in the foot straps to help my feet from slipping out of the foot pads (I just slip into the shoes and go). I will leave the rower laid out on the floor rather than standing up after use since it is near a wall that won’t interfere with traffic in our den, but it is a nice feature to stand if necessary.
Overall, I am happy with this unit and plan to use ongoing. I like the range of motion using the arms, back, and legs with this workout. I was not looking to buy an expensive gym-level rower so I was impressed that this rower is rated highly, gives a decent workout, and is priced affordably.
Gotta go row now!

This is a really nice rowing machine. It was very easy to construct, it didn’t take long at all. It’s a really sturdy build, doesn’t feel flimsy or likely to break, and has a nice big comfy seat and good size foot rests. In terms of its use, the little computer it comes with is extremely basic. You can count your strokes and the time you’ve been on the machine, but it doesn’t have a timer, and you have to calculate the SPM yourself. It has 12 adjustable levels, but even as a beginner, anything under 7 doesn’t give a great workout, so that’s a bit limiting. The hydraulics heat up pretty fast, so it’s advisable to stop after about 20 minutes and leave it to cool. This can be a bit annoying if you’re just getting into it and want to carry on – but you can also do a decent workout either in bursts of twenty minutes, with gaps, or just doing sprints for 20 minutes. Its really quiet, you can listen to music or even watch TV while using it without any problem, and the arms fold in making it easy to store. The leg space is good – I’m 5’7″ and have loads of space, it would definitely accommodate someone much taller without any issues. Overall, despite its limits, its a really great machine for the price, and I’m extremely happy with it.
