Previously I used a cane tip as a foot for my bass. Every time I moved it creaked like I was on an old schooner. This one is perfectly quiet. I had to put a little gaffers tape around the end pin to make it fit.

The product is fine; it’s the EXCESSIVE PLASTIC packaging that I am not happy with. It could have easily fit into something smaller and non-plastic.
MR.BLLO –
Was a little big for my pin. Easy fix w/ a little tape.

I did not realize the threaded tip portion of my Christopher 10mm endpin was a smaller diameter (7mm!) until I removed the old rubber tip. This tip did not fit because of that, but a quick trip to the hardware store for an inexpensive piece of plumbing tubing (1/4″ inner diameter, 3/8″ outer diameter) worked well as a bushing after I roughed up the outer diameter with some sandpaper to keep it snug. This Superior endpin tip was also too long for my endpin at the knurling, so about 1/8″ needed to be filed off the length at the opening. A bit more work than I anticipated, but afterward, it fits well, looks good and is small enough to keep the bass from sliding on the floor without deadening the resonance the way a larger rubber tip would. Overall happy.

Stick it on and tahdah no scratching

This fits on my bass but doesn’t prevent sliding. I would not recommend this.

EDIT: These Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors are basically the same design and everything for half of the price, you get 2 for 8$, they include the little metal washer in the hole.

The first time I order this it lasted a couple of days before my endpin ripped through the bottom of this. I thought it was just defective tip and I ordered it again. The second time it failed in a matter of hours tearing through the bottom again right in the middle of a gig. Nothing special about my bass, the end pin is flat/not pointed and its 3/4 size bass these are just poorly designed and cheap.

My bass has an 8mm endpin with a short 6mm diameter section then a 12mm flange. This tip slips on over the 12mm section, but is tight enough so it doesn’t easily come off. The washer inside should keep the tip from punching through the rubber at the bottom. Hopefully, it will last a long time without falling apart, but at least it is inexpensive if I have to replace it occasionally.

I been a upright bass player for about 15 years now and I know how difficult it is to replace one of these on your bass. Please do not try and put this on bear and dry and say it doesn’t fit cause most likely it does but you need to do the proper prep work first. Boil the piece in water first till it’s pretty soft and elastic almost then you try and put it on. Have a rubber mallet also near by just in case you need a extra push. It should be good once it dries after you got it on.
