I replaced an older fan cooled NetGear ProSafe for my home network. The noise of the older unit was the only reason I made the change. This unit is smaller and completely silent. I notice no difference in performance (which is good). So far so good.
Luz Jimenez –
This was easy to plug into my network. As I slowly migrate all of my servers over to 2.5 Gb interfaces, they all come up on this handy little switch. I like the indicator lights on each port that shows you the speed that it is running. Green for 2.5Gb and Orange for 1Gb. The box is warm, but not hot, when running. No fan, so it runs silent, which is nice.
Kris Karl –
Immediately noticed a problem when the internet would randomly cut out. I already threw the box away so I can’t return this anymore, but beware that the stability is questionable at best.
Enrico –
Even when you split the signal, the speed is still good.

I bought this to solve a problem. I have great internet but too many wireless devices for my router. I was tired of my firestick and game console lagging due to internet traffic. Slow your roll… I have 5 people living in my house. That’s 5 TV’s that stream shows, 5 phones, 3 tablets, about 4 computers + a bunch of wireless camera’s and smart home devices. All that throughput causes some slowness when everyone is using it. I bought this to get the fastest speeds. I hooked it up behind my TV (after running a CAT6 cable) to use for my PS4 and Firestick. It worked well for that and no problems with performance at all.
I recently added a router to this switch that controls a good portion of the devices listed above. This thing is working great to handle it all. Haven’t noticed any performance outside of throttling from the servers.

We had an issue with the internet speed, we ended up replacing the switch and ethernet cables and that fixed the speed issues. This unit gives full max download and upload.

Needed this to open a couple more ports at a remote location for a user that only had one difficult line to that area. This allowed for the PC, laptop, printer and AP to all receive Ethernet and a much more stable connection. Worry about the potential long term use, but considering metal ones were twice the price at the time of need, it can be replaced once before sunk costs.

Nice little thing, you just plug it in and it works. I have 2 machines connected to it and got almost 1gbps on each at the same time, up and down.
I have it for almost 5 months already, without issues.
Luz Jimenez –
I have tested this switch for its performance at 1GB Internet speeds, with tests on computers and also with another switch connected to the network, I have tested it with multiple connected devices such as computers, routers, TVs and 4K cameras, the performance has been excellent.
I didn’t believe when they said that it wouldn’t get hot when using it, because generally switches get a little hot, but it’s true this switch doesn’t get hot, I’ve tested it for more than a month inside a drawer, it worked perfectly there without generating heat, since some months, I have had it running with many devices connected on a desk and it has worked perfectly.
The design could be the only detail I have found, but it is not a problem, the device seems to be designed to be inside a rack or to be installed screwed “upside down” rather than to be installed on a table, but the It really doesn’t get hot despite not having a fan and allowing 16 ports to work simultaneously, for me it has been an excellent choice to expand my network in the more than 5 months that I have been using it.
Joseph Fuller –
It’s really cheap, and it works. Fine for normal home use, maybe not for a network with heavy usage as it probably has very little buffer and limited switching capacity but it’s fine for just giving multiple devices access to an Internet gateway. It weighs almost nothing and is tiny. It gets the job done, and is probably 99% as good as a switch that costs 5 times as much. No idea about reliability/longevity but the price ought to make up for any shortcomings there.
