My friend recommended this bag to me in 2018. I love the weight, reliability, comfort, and ease of packing with the compress pack. I took mine to hike Mt. Fuji in 2018, where it got completely soaked for 4 hours as I hiked down the moutain and typhoon Jebi caught me off guard. It dried out well and went on many more adventures and counting. It’s small enough to comfortably use for sleeping in a compact car on long road trips, random camping trips, survive the freezing nights of the Mojave desert, and can be spread out roughly on top of other blankets as an extra precaution against the cold. In 30°F weather, it gets too hot within an hour. I always have to open the zipper and let it breathe more. It was comfortable to as low as 20°F weather with no wind-chill when fully zipped. The thickness is nice and adds extra cushioning that helps me sleep or camp out in the most random places that I’ve ended up in. Bang for buck, this is the best sleeping bag I’ve ever got at this price point and one of my most reliable. The zipper and build quality is durable and beefy, while staying light weight. The comfort is amazing. I wish I could recommend this sleeping bag more and give it a 10 out of 5. My family members and friends loved it too and some have been buying it after trying mine.

primeras usadas y primeras impresiones

First and foremost, this is an excellent sleeping bag for the price. It’s a very warm bag (perhaps too warm for all but the coldest nights) but it’s also not excessively heavy or large. I purchased the bright orange bag rated for 0F (-18C) and the bag itself comes in at only 1295g (2.85lbs) and with the included compression bag the whole things is 1455g (3.2lbs). It packs up reasonably small for a 0F bag, but it’s still a significant volume even when compressed.
Pros:
– Extremely warm bag
– Packs up to a respectable size given the insulation value
– Very light given the insulation value
– Material feels soft and comfy, if not a little cheap
– Very good neck baffle, and mummy top drawstring
– Zippers are well baffled
– Shape is snug but comfortable
– Color is pretty cool
Cons:
– Zippers feel cheap. I wish they used a better quality zipper and charged an extra $10
– The bag is warmer and larger than most people will ever need, but it’s their lightest bag
– Zipper frequently snags inner baffle when closing
– Drawstrings feel a bit cheap
I find Teton’s ratings and weights to be incredibly confusing, and there are several nearly identical looking products spanning the $99 up to $300 price points all with pretty non-sensical weights listed, with significant discrepancies between their website and Amazon. This matters a lot for those backpacking and looking for a lightweight sleeping bag, so having unreliable numbers there isn’t great.
Finally, I wish Teton would make a truly ultralight and compact 30-40F bag using the same general construction as their 0F bag, but with less insulation. There is a lack of good options for simple fall camping where a bag like this one is really too warm, and as a result, larger and heavier than needed. If they could make a bag like that at this price point, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I just took this sleeping bag, the 0 degree synthetic version, on a two night backpacking trip. I am a pretty warm sleeper and temps hit about 40 degrees F the first night and 25 degrees F the second night. I was in a thermal baselayer, hiking pants, wool socks, waffle shirt, winter hat, and fleece zip up and was toasty the first night but a little cold the second night when it hit 25 F. I would call the comfort rating about 30F. Worth noting I had a r value 7 sleeping pad so that was plenty insulating and most of the cold was coming from the bag being inadequate.
All that noted, this bag packs down very well and did keep me super warm in cold temps, had I put on a puffy jacket the 25F night I would have been nice and warm I think. The value is fantastic with this bag, compared to a true 0F bag like the paria thermodown. The draft color and face sinching works nicely once you get used to it and really makes a difference. My feet also never got cold!
I am 5’10” about 175 male.

Very warm even in very cold and exposed environment

Did a three night trip right after it arrived (arrived very quick) and worked great, was nice and warm even though I got slightly wet one morning from a tent mishap.

Just took this on a 3 day trip in the Rocky Mountains. This was the best sleeping bag the first night we slept by the river and it was in the 30’s and I stayed warm. The next night we were at 11000 feet and I was a little worried about being cold. That night I was very warm and was very comfortable. I even had to unzip a little to allow some cool air in. The next night I was worried because the bag had gotten wet at the foot box. The dew from inside my tent had gotten on the sleeping bag in many places. Was unable to let it dry the next morning before packing it up so I knew it was going to be damp. When the night came it had rained that day so the ground was wet and it was getting cold. I got my bag out and it was real wet at the foot box and damp other places on the bag. I felt the sleeping bag it was real wet. I got in and could tell it was damp and cold so I prepared to be cold so I put on everything I had including my puffy coat. After 10 min I was hot my feet were hot and so I took all the extra off and was just fine it was in the upper 30’s that night in a wet forest at about 9500 feet. The best purchase I have made for backpacking. Packs super small and I could fit it and all my cloths for the trip in the sleeping bag pocket on my 70l pack. Very good quality and would buy this bag again when it gets old and in need to replace. Probably will buy another for the family. Can’t say enough good about it. If you are a little wide at the shoulder get the bigger size. My brother wished he had got the little bigger one. If you are wondering if you should get this or the $200 one. This is the better one. I feel the 20 is its comfort level. I was hot at upper 30’s and wet. For the price it is worth it for sure. Just buy it and you won’t regret it!

So this product performed better than I expected. I decided to test it out on my back porch last night since I received it yesterday, and I knew that the temperature was going to be a low of 28°, so I expected this 20° bag to keep me fairly warm, but most people agree that the temperature rating on the bags is a survival rating and that you shouldn’t expect to be comfortable at the actual survival rating and that you should probably buy a bag that is 10° warmer than your intended temperature if you want to be comfortable. However, this bag, paired with a 4.4R value pad, kept me very warm and comfortable at 28° without a tent or tarp, without wind, on my back porch. The sleeping bag itself is about 2 and 1/2 lb and the material seems thin , but it works and Is much more compressible than my 0° bag. You can get a thinner, lighter, more compressible down bag if you’re willing to drop significantly more money on it, but for the price, this is an extremely good value and a good bag.

Love this for winter camping. It’s very light so easy to hike with. We use this sleeping bag when we go skinning (skiing to the top of mountains in VT) camp out, then ski down in the morning, after sunrise. Have used it about 10 times, it’s holding up good and well made.

Sleeping bag looks great but the cover bag is just too bulky and a bit heavy, not that good design, so inconvenient for putting it in the backpack!!
