I love you much water seems to push through this for a smaller filter. It seems its right up close to the larger at least of the aquatech 30-60 I have on my 40 gallon. This also has the old style Tetra Whisper filters which you can get cheaper unassembled or assembled whichever you prefer. It also can be turned up and down for slower water flow of preferred or for feeding. It’s very quiet also because the motor is not as it used to be on the bottom under filter box. I had been using a canister filter and my mom gave me her whisper the bigger one sorry drawing a blank with the curved on the bottom filter bags and I am running this and that one both on my 55 gallon and the tank seems so much more clearer now.

Best filter I have bought in decades, provided it endures. The flow control was tricky, the difference between trickle and waterfall is a tiny move of the dial, but just having flow control is the main point. It’s VERY quiet. I hear the trickle of water, not the filter. The filters themselves are sold as kits you can make for very cheap. The flow control/suction goes pretty fast, i suspect you could use this for a 50G freshwater tank in a pinch.

I love this filter. I love that the flow is adjustable. I love that it comes with a filter bag that can be refilled but has enough room so you can still add your own filtration such as sponges, filter floss, ceramic media balls, activated charcoal, etc. It’s quiet, my tank became crystal clear within 2 hours of setting it up and I will buy another one for my other tank. 5 stars! I had it up and running in less than 5 minutes too!

It’s a pretty good pump, has a very minor downfall but the operation of the pump itself is flawless….
The only downside I am experiencing is the lid of the pump is often rattling and be annoying would be easily fixed with some type of sealer for the lid to keep it from being plastic on plastic and help seal the lid on more secure
If not for that 1 minor flaw ide give it 5 stars it’s easy to take apart and clean every single component 😌 and the pump itself really is quiet as you see it’s in my room so I need to be able to sleep this pump is perfect 👌 I can make it almost like a really soft running creek noise and pass out almost instantly 😴😴😴😴

Read reviews that others felt it was very loud. It is whisper guite. So far it’s working great. Really keeps my tank cleaner than my old one. Haven’t had any problems with fish swimming around intake tube. Was easy to set up. Think cleaning it may be a problem. I’ll have to remove the whole pump in order to clean it correctly. Otherwise so far so good

So much better than the smaller version! The small one is so loud you can hear the motor across your apartment. This one you can hardly hear the notor standing right next to the filter! Adjustable flow is nice!, especially if you have fish that dont like a strong current!!! Fairly easy to disassemble for cleaning, and you can take off all the adaptable pieces to the filter siphon if you have a crawfish like i do that likes to escape climable features its nice that i can put on just the siphon gaurd so that its higher off the ground so he cant reach it!

This is a nice filter, it keeps my aquarium clean and clear and causes good surface disruption for oxygen, although I may still want to add a bubbler with my tank layout and fish type. I use the 45-gallon filter for my 30-gallon tall hexagon tank with a couple of fancy goldfish. I does a good job filtering out waste and keeping the water from getting cloudy with their repashy food, but of course the weekly water siphoning is still needed. My one issue with it is noise: I don’t mind the water noise, it’s the vibrating that sometimes randomly happens and I have to go move the filter around to get it to stop before it drives me nuts. It’s nothing too bad, I’ve heard worse, but it is annoying for something called a whisper.
