I think this book hit the spot with overall information about this topic! Even if I gave it four stars…it just feels like something amiss. The author gave a trove of information from all directions. That’s amazing because not many authors do that nowadays. It is nice to see there were various fields to discuss – smell, vision, health, consciousness, education, psychological diagnosis, and more. It hit me when I had extreme fatigue lately and I read this book. I told myself that it was a while since I went on a short hike for a day. When I did, then I felt better for a week…it is telling.

I was so excited to read this book and was really enjoying it in the beginning. But I guess once my excitement wore off, or something, the book started to drag. I want to keep reading it because I was truly enjoying her insight on nature, the human condition, and how to survive modern day. This book really makes you appreciate the outdoors and gives a new perspective on how to relax and unwind from daily life. I took the book with me on a hike through a nature preserve and couldn’t stop thinking about how there is not one place left on earth where you can’t hear man-made noises. I stopped in the dense forest and felt as though I was surely away from all man-made machines, and yet, a plane flew overhead. It’s pretty incredible.
Even if I’ve lost my momentum, I still recommend this book to anyone who is interested!
