I love the look of this oven but it simply does not work. At random times it will refuse to go above 350 degrees. the temperature knob does not reflect the temp in the oven – which would be fine, I just bought a thermometer for the inside. The problem is that even when you turn it all the way up past 500, it will still barely reach 475 at best, and at worst hovers around 350. It concerns me that the temperature is so wildly variable and i have considered whether or not it is safe given this failure. I will be trying to enforce the warranty but based on other comments here I have low hopes.

We purchased the 36″ based on great user reviews. It’s a fantastic oven until it needs service, then you’re on your own. We made it a couple years before the heating element for the oven went bad and we discovered that there isn’t a servicing dealer anywhere near where we live. We had parts shipped and found a local dealer who services competitive ovens who agreed to install the element. 15-months later we’ve got the same issue again. Calls to Thor have yielded NO help. They gave me a phone # of the nearest certified service tech, more than 250 miles away. I’ve tried calling multiple times for help over the past 2 weeks and received ZERO calls back. At this point we’ve got nothing more than an overpriced boat anchor. I don’t even know how much we would have to pay to dispose of this useless oven now. If you buy from Thor Kitchen, you do so at your own risk. DO NOT BUY from Thor Kitchen!

Solid stove. Looks great in my newly renovated kitchen. Tight fit, and a little work to get gas hookup done, but works great, and in the end that’s all that matters.
