TIANSE Binding Machine, Spiral Coil Binder Machine, Manual Book Maker Punch Binder with Electric Coil Inserter,Suit for Letter Size / A4 / A5– so it is a hole punch for alot of little holes needed to spiral bind paperwork. i have not tested how thick it can do as i havent needed to. it comes with some i think its 5/16″ spirals. the punch seems to work without issue, again capacity not tested. then there is the spiral-make-go-on-faster doodad. this was not effortless. i found it quite often not wanting to seat the spiral into the next hole. i think there may be some operator error to consider here, so keep that in mind. the idea is, you put your paperwork you want bound into the punch set up. punch the holes, then start the spiral into a few holes and press the on button press the spiral against the spinning wheel contraption on the top and it feeds the spiral thru into the holes you just punched. it sort of works. i almost feel as though there needs to be a registration guide or bar that puts everything in the right place for this feature to work flawlessly, as i found it to be flawsome. not terrible, and i will use it again, but not without some extra effort to restart things when they pin off axis and you have to back it out a little then reengage the spinney wheel. also, the price dropped 30bills from the time i ordered and the time i wrote this review. i dont know if that means anything or not.

I got this binding machine to try out spiral coil binding in my print shop and see if I wanted to invest in a larger one. It’s easy to use and works well with standard letter size papers. The manual punch and electric coil inserter are efficient, making the binding process smooth. This machine gave me a good sense of what to expect from a larger model for my shop, and I will continue to use this one for my own needs.

As a homeschool parent, I bind a LOT of things. We purchase mostly digital curriculum and print/bind it ourselves because I don’t like to keep track of what our independent study charter school wants us to return to them at the end of the year. Physical books you often have to return to our school, digital you do not. Anyway, I’ve been using a ProClick binding system and it’s been great but it’s a 3:1 pitch and coils only come in fairly limited sizes; mostly smaller than I need. This binding machine uses the more standard 4:1 pitch coils so I’ve had no trouble finding inexpensive coils in even very large sizes. I like that there’s an electric roller thing on top of this machine to help you insert the coils but honestly I find it easier and faster just to do it by hand. It’s not at all hard. The plug disconnects from the back of the machine and isn’t necessary for anything but that top roller so I am able to just store it elsewhere and it’s not in the way and I love that. The punch does around 12 sheets of paper at a time if you’re using 20# paper; less if you’re printing on higher quality paper. I print on 24# and find 8 sheets to be the sweet spot as far as efficiency and ease of punching. The machine does come with a box of smaller-diameter coils to start with but they’re only good for books with only a few pages (around 30) so I’d recommend ordering a variety pack of sizes along with the machine. The pliers they include work alright but I prefer another pair that I already had because it creates a longer bent part at the end of the cut that keeps the pages from coming off the end of the coil. If you’re having any issues with the books uncoiling themselves, just try another pair of pliers — they’re not that expensive. I’ve had this machine about 2 weeks and have bound 5 books totaling over 1000 pages so far and it’s worked flawlessly for me. Overall, this is a very useful and well made binding machine.

love this. It cuts so smoothly and I love the electric wheel that pushes the binding through. So handy. Great price and it isn’t super heavy. I can move it around to where I’m working with ease. It made putting together books so easy and way less time consuming then putting the binding in myself. I also love the orange color just as a side note.

I have a confession to make. I LOVE binding machines. Which is a bit of a problem, since the extent of my “binding” efforts is three or four calendars a year. Still,
I am always looking for a better way to finish my calendar projects, and this might be it! With this coil binder, you can punch a row of correctly spaced holes, (12 pages at a time), feed the coil binding through the first couple holes, push the red button, and hold the piece up next to the binder, and ZOOP! Your book is bound! It actually happened way faster than I expected.

The machine is well made, and the punch handle is removeable for stoarge. There is a tray to catch the holes.. or what was removed from the holes, so you don’t have tiny little dots all over to vacuum up. If you don’t want to use the motor driven binder, you can easily spin the coil through the hole by hand… which is kind of fun.

Now that I have this machine, I might find other uses for it… like recipe or scrap books…. or memo pads…

I’m a homeschool parent and I often need to bind a lot of booklets at the office store. So, I decided to purchase a binding machine myself to save time and money. I was surprised by how heavy the machine is, but it works well and is very easy to set up and use. One of the things I love about it is that it uses standard 4:1 pitch coils. However, it only comes with one size of coils, so you’ll probably need to purchase more if you’re making larger books or booklets. It also has an electric wheel that pushes the coil through, so you don’t have to do it by hand. Overall, this is a great addition to our homeschool setup!
