Alarms: This watch is good if you want one with up to 3 silent alarms. That’s what makes this watch different from many other watches. The alarm can vibrate and flash only, or have sound. Some watch alarms vibrate but also chime, which may not be good if you don’t want to wake up your partner or want a silent alarm for any other reason.
Size: It’s huge (too big really), so I should have measured how wide it would be on my wrist before ordering. It’s about the diameter of a baseball stadium. Ok, that’s an exaggeration, but it’s extremely big (wide). The strap width is fine.
Strap: The strap stays tightly closed. I doubt the strap will accidentally come out of the small sleeve that it goes into after the buckle. This sleeve is called a free loop or free ring in watch jargon. To remove the watch from my wrist, I lift the sleeve over the nub that sticks up from the band. I can’t just pull on the strap.
Display: It’s dim unless I press the button to light up the display, so it’s a little hard to read. I have to tilt my arm to the right position. Maybe this helps the battery last longer, but it doesn’t seem worth the tradeoff.
Waterproof: I’ve had it for a couple of days and swam with it (sometimes several feet underwater). It is indeed waterproof.
Manual: The user’s manual has little information. It refers you to the online manual for more information.

The watch is great! The only down side of the design is that when I flex my wrist it hits the mode or set buttons and changes the display. Other than that it’s a great watch.

I work a very physical job and I break watches a lot.
I was very dedicated to Casio for a long time but after buying this watch I’ll never go back.
It’s better in every way.
The buttons are easy to push
You can “hide” functions you’re not using so you don’t have to scroll through them to set an alarm.
And most importantly it takes a ton of punishment.

Es la segunda vez que compro este reloj por sus caracterÃsticas únicas, diseño y tamaño que no encuentro en ninguno otro.

O relógio atende as expectativas. A função alarme e outros comandos com a função vibrate também é o diferencial. A prova d’água e pulseira bem resistente. Melhor que outros modelos da marca timex.

Update after three years: This watch is still going great. I use the countdown timer for my town workouts, I use the stopwatch for my kids, I swim with it in the summer, and I use the light on it in the mornings for an easy glance to check the time—and three years in the original battery is great. I know that if anything ever happens to this watch I’m buying the same thing again. No more Omega Seamaater and no more Citizen watches (two have failed me). Simple, functional, dependable and strong.

I LOVE THIS WATCH!!! I bought it to replace a popular 100m iron man watch that let in water while swimming at my local pool so I shopped for a 200m watch. For me the Casio’s are way too busy–I was attracted to the big easy to read open face on this watch. It is so easy to read the time, especially in sunshine. It has spent a summer in the pool w me and there has been no problem. Unexpected bonus: the band is great. I have worn it every day for seven months and there is ZERO crease in the band–it is very high quality. I have a large wrist and I wear it in the third hole as a FYI. I use the timer function all the time for different activities w my kids–very easy to reset and use. One last point–the light is very bright. I have had two Casio G-shocks but I will stick w this from here on in. One draw back–it is a bit thick for formal wear with cuffs and suits–I will wear my citizen analog then. Still, an easy 5 stars.

Light function is great . Easy to read without being excessively bright
3 Alarms.

Very well built, buttons easy to use, display is extremely easy to read. In the accompanying picture you can see the size compared to my Timex Ironman 10 – much bigger display, and the positive display is strongly recommended over the negative display, but be forewarned the case is about the diameter or slightly bigger than an Oreo Mega Stuff. Only hitch is that the Indiglo works differently from on an Ironman – it lights up the actual character elements rather than backlighting the entire display. As a result, it’s not really that beneficial other than when it’s actually dark where you’re trying to look at it, and in fact in normal to bright light conditions it somewhat washes out the characters (making them light blue on a gray background). All in all, solid watch and a great value.

Had this watch for about 2 months now. Really like the big display, good for my old man eyes. I have no problem reading the display in regular indoor/outdoor daylight. Indoors at night, it is harder to read, but not a deal breaker.
Am thinking about swapping out the watchband, it’s not that comfortable to me, but again not a deal breaker.
All features work well, the vibration alarm won’t wake me up, but I’m a sound sleeper. Have swam with this in open lake, and the ocean, no problems yet with the water resistance.
Update 8/2. watch stopped working. Screen froze on the stopwatch screen, buttons all non-responsive. No idea why – since it didn’t take any damage from anything. Amazon was nice enough to replace it. Thanks!
Update 8/21 – replacement watch indiglo button stopped working. returned for refund, and will not be replacing it with the same watch.

Other reviewers had similar comments. The watch is just so dim! I have to look at the watch for several seconds to tell the time when indoors but I have to use the indigo light 99% of the time just to tell what time it is when I am in a normal to low-lit place. Outdoors is better. However, what good is a watch if you can’t read the time when inside??? (The one I ordered was – Color: Black/Negative – Numerals are yellowish green). I had opted to return this one and purchase a different model – (the Color: Black/Positive). Hoping there is enough contrast to read the time without using a backlight. I believe Timex had an opportunity to make a great watch for the $. However, TIMEX couldn’t seem to get the contrast correct with the lighter numbers and dark background. A few good things are: The watch has some heft (weight) to it and programming seems rather intuitive. Hope my review helps save you some time. (Pic to the left – is inside the house at my desk with a lamp and the pic to the right is the time just after pushing the indigo light). To me – this is a “No-Brainer.” Returning tomorrow.
