Use these frequently for APs, VoIP devices, and network security cameras. Good PoE budget, plug and play, unmanaged, and does a good job at a good budget friendly cost.

This switch has been a game-changer for my network setup. With its handy features and solid build, it helped me effortlessly tackle my connectivity challenges.

One standout aspect of this switch is its four PoE+ ports, which provide power to compatible devices like IP cameras and wireless access points. The 65W power supply is more than sufficient, ensuring reliable and consistent performance. Plus, the plug-and-play functionality made the installation a breeze, saving me time and hassle.

The sturdy metal construction and shielded ports are worth mentioning, as they enhance durability and protect against electromagnetic interference. The fanless design keeps things quiet, which is a major plus for those seeking a noise-free environment.

In terms of performance, this switch excels. The QoS (Quality of Service) feature ensures smooth data flow, preventing bottlenecks and optimizing network efficiency. Additionally, the IGMP Snooping functionality has been invaluable in managing multicast traffic, allowing for seamless streaming and video conferencing.

While the switch has a lot going for it, there are a few aspects that could be improved. One limitation is the number of ports. With only five ports available, it may not be suitable for larger network setups requiring more connections. Additionally, some users have reported occasional issues with firmware updates, but I personally haven’t encountered any problems.

Overall, the TP-Link TL-SG1005P V2 is a reliable and efficient PoE switch that simplifies network management. Its robust design, easy setup, and useful features make it a solid choice for small to medium-sized networks. Just keep in mind the limited number of ports if you have extensive connectivity needs.

Slid right into the rack and screwed in perfectly. Connected the equipment, fired it up and and it started right up. So far, it is working as expected, no complaints.

Una gran ventaja es que sólo necesita alimentarse de un sólo cable de red tanto para datos como para energía. Bastante útil si quieres conectar más dispositivos por LAN, y te ahorras metros cable, en vez de jalar cables desde el Switch principal.

The TP-Link TL-SG1005P is a solid choice for a home lab switch. My home is older and didn’t come with any pre-installed Ethernet wiring, so I ran a single Cat 6 cable to a central closet where I’ve set up this switch. It’s been perfect for my needs—providing both power and LAN connectivity to my Ubiquiti Access Point and Zigbee Coordinator, as well as LAN connections for my PC and TV.

I’ve had zero issues with this switch, and it performs exactly as expected. It’s a reliable, no-fuss solution that does what it’s supposed to do.

Before I start my review, I would like to state that the Amazon listing title was not accurate at the time of purchasing. The listing title stated the switch could support up to 56W of PoE; however, upon receiving the package, the box states that it can support up to 65W (an additional 9W for free!).

This switch has worked amazingly in my network setup. This is a quality switch at an affordable price point!

I ordered this switch for two reasons:
    1) I needed something to give me more LAN ports as there was a limited number available on my UniFi Dream Machine.
    2) I needed to power 3 PoE-powered UniFi Access Points and did not want to buy three separate PoE injectors and three more patch cables.

Some of my favourite features about the switch:
    – Sturdy metal casing.
    – Operates silently.
    – Produces very little heat.
    – Dedicated LEDs at each port that blink to show data is being transmitted and change colour based on speed.
    – Dedicated LEDs at each of the 4 PoE ports to indicate if PoE is being supplied to that connection or if there is a fault.
    – Dedicated LEDs to show if the switch is receiving power or if it is supplying Max PoE.

Works as expected. Added to my Omada home network setup. Here’s how it’s set up:

ER7212PC PoE → EAP615-Wall PoE passthrough → this TL-SG1005P-PD → PoE splitters powering my Hue Bridge and Lutron Hub

Bummer that it’s not managed so I can’t tag specific ports with VLANs but it’s a great PoE powered switch and nice addition to my network!

I replaced a really expensive Ubiquiti Switch with this and it was a life saver. The price to value is amazing. Save me lots of money with a better performance. I will definitely invest more in TP Link hardware.

It worked completely fine with my Ubiquiti UDM. Just connected to the UDM, allowed the subnet to set and then plugged in my APs. Did not have to reconfigure my WiFi AP Vlans, everything just worked.

Love Amazon’s same day service, saved my life!!!

Zero regrets! This switch might be the best bang for the buck for its price.

I bought this because it supports both VLANs and PoE pass-through. I’m powering this using PoE from another room in the house and this, in turn, powers three Unifi access points using PoE without any problems. I need VLAN segmentation, which this version supports.

This switch can be managed centrally using their software, but I chose to instead manage it from its built-in web interface. I was pleasantly surprised by both the number of features exposed as well as the ease of configuring these; it was all very intuitive (if you’re familiar with VLANs, in general). I’m also happy to report that it can be configured to route both IPv4 and IPv6.

The case itself is also pretty good for an outdoor installation as it has protection that goes over the Ethernet ports, though I chose to install mine inside. I would have gone with an ‘indoor’ version of this if I could find one with the same capabilities for around the same price.

It works great for data, but did not work regarding PoE. That was disappointing, but not enough for me to send it back. Easy setup and was still cheaper than other switches. It’s small so that’s a plus.
