Everyone finds themselves needing a cotter pin at one time or another, whether you’ve lost or broken one as a component to a tool, or you are DIY-ing a fix and find that a cotter pin is the fastener or fixative that you need to complete the thing you are making from whole cloth. For me this has always required a trip to the hardware or big box store to buy just the right size at a premium markup. Therefore, this wonderful assortment in a nice transparent case is a workshop necessity. It has enough of an assortment of sizes from very small to large to meet every individual need. Reasonably priced, too. The pins and quality, well-made, and sturdy.

I wish that I had this collection of cotter pins years ago. You never realize that you are missing this set until you need a cotter pin and have to use a bent nail instead. At about 6 cents a pin they are worth purchasing just to have on hand.
There is a good selection, and I especially liked the fact that there are 8 of the 3″ pins included. They are plated and shouldn’t rust. The reason for 4 stars is that they have not been deburred or tumbled. The ends of the wire have burrs and they are especially sharp on the smaller sizes. If you don’t mind the sharp ends, it is a well-priced selection.

I use cotter pins on some of my projects, but never seem to have the ones I need at hand. This set is a great solution for that. It comes with a variety of sizes. The quality of the pins seems very good. They also have just the right amount of stiffness/springiness. They’re not super easy or super hard to put on or take out. However, they do hold well once inserted.
They also come in a decent case, which will certainly help me keep them organized. Its also nice to have the variety of sizes so you always have what you need available, rather than having to run out or order and wait for the part.
They’re a good set of pins.

I do my own work on my lawn tractor and utility tractor. On the lawn tractor there are at least five cotter pins holding the mower deck in place, and it is really easy to lose one when you’re working on it. I am happy to say that with this set, I will never have to look through every can and container in the garage when I lose a cotter pin. I think this set will last me a lifetime! There are a number of different sizes, depending on the size of the hole that you need to push through.

Nice set of R pins or Hairpins, that’s what we call them at least, not cotter pins lol. Regardless of what you call them this is a great assortment and at a very fair price. I have these on my tractor, utility trailer, etc., and these will definitely come in handy. 5 stars, recommend!

The Zinc plating should be good for most environments and last just as long as an original cotter pin. It’s a good kit to have on hand either around your workshop or portable hardware collection.
