I’ve had several Ultimate Support guitar stands over the years, and they’ve all been durable, easily adjustable, and fully supported. One of them had a head that would rotate out of position, but it was never a real problem. We’ll see how the newer push-button leg lock works in the long run, but so far, so good. I doubt I’ll ever buy another kind of single-guitar stand.

I like these stands but I don’t know why Ultimate went away from the simple turn lock on the bottom. I find the new button design to be more difficult. Still a great stand though…

As a road musician, it is imperative to have high quality equipment that is durable.
I have been a fan of Ultimate Support since I first introduced about 1994. If you are looking for an excellent stand, then this is it. I primarily play an Ovation guitar, and because of its rounded back does not sit nicely on any other brand of stand. The greatest thing about these stands is that they safely and securely hold the guitar by the neck, right behind the nut. The tripod base is wide, and nearly impossible to tip over…even in windy stage situations. Height is adjusted so that the guitar hangs with no pressure on the cords.
They work well for solid body guitars, and standard acoustic guitars. Don’t let the price fool you. This is worth every cent.
Note: If you are comparing this stand with the Ultimate model that has a gravity twist/lock – My recommendation is don’t bother; The lock ends are not durable if you actually use this stand a lot, every week, all year. I have had that model, and the higher price is not worth the frustration when it breaks.

I am Using this to hold a tenor Ukulele. It’s working out fine. It’s a little bit too long for the ukulele. To compensate, I wrapped a cushion adhesive farther up the legs so that when you deposit the instrument onto the stand it doesn’t knock the bottom of the instrument. I use this stand to play music on stage. One of the most important things is ease of access. I need to grab the instrument quickly Without the impediment of superfluous straps or pieces that jut out to hold the bottom in a wobbly way. This stand has some weight to it and I am confident that I won’t be knocking it over on stage. I believe I ordered the best quality stand. It’s heavy, well-built, and most importantly, it folds down completely flat so that when you pack it into a bag there is no danger of injuring the stand. There are no flimsy welded parts at risk of breaking during transport.

I use these at home and for gigs, and trust no other stand. Very sturdy, good padding, and safe for my guitars. They fold up easily and compact, and I stick them in my stand bag. In over 10 years of gigs (5-10 per month), I’ve never had any issues with these stands, and recommend them to my colleagues. Protect your guitars and stop buying flimsy stands for your gigs!

We’ve been bunny proofing our family room so I needed new guitar stands to keep them away from the bunny’s teeth. (I didn’t want to attach grips to the wall and I didn’t want to re-locate the guitars.) I kept trying to find reviews that listed the height of the cradle, since I wanted something higher, but couldn’t find any. Therefore, my review is primarily for bunny-proofers looking for the same answer. The height from floor to grip is 43 inches, fully extended. The distance between the bottom of my 3 guitars and the floor ranges between 9 and 11 inches (acoustic, resonator, electric). Hanging seems to be another deterrent, since it will swing if the bunny stands on her hind legs and investigates – preventing a firm grip for gnawing. This guitar stand is very sturdy and I love the auto-close feature. She’s noticed the rubber feet and has given them a bit of a nibble, but she doesn’t seem to notice the guitars hanging above her. I’ve ordered two more, but I will say that if I had expensive guitars that I wanted to keep in mint condition, I don’t know that I would trust this stand with those in regards to the bunny. I think this stand makes it more likely they won’t be damaged, but they’re not completely bunny-proof for our bunny’s size. If you had a dwarf bunny, I would think they’d be fine. Expensive guitars would likely find a home in another room, or I’d break down and install the wall grips.

The Ultimate Support GS-100 is an awesome guitar stand. Only complaint is the yoke does not swivel so not optimal for asymmetrical head stocks like on a Fender Stratocaster but still seems pretty stable. Folds up quick for easy pack up. If you are looking for a compact folding guitar stand this is it. Ultimate Support recently changed the design and probably just as good as this baby but I grabbed this one before they are sold out. Now I can keep one in my gig bag. I have been a customer of ultimate support for years. They stand behind their products. Most products are guaranteed for life. I have only needed to use the warranty once and they answered the phone and sent the replacement part out that day. I had it 2 days later. Now thats service.
