The VSIQ-200B 2nd tier is a cheap way to accommodate a 2nd keyboard if you already own a V-Stand Pro or IQ-3000 X-style stand. The V-Stand Pro and VSIQ-200B configuration can accommodate speedy change from seated to standing height easily. However, I was a little disappointed to see that the VSIQ-200B 2nd tier has to be attached/removed for every gig.

Item arrived with one bubble level raptured. It looks like this is a very common problem with this particular model. I hope Ultimate Support looks into this issue soon. I think the problem lies in the way the product is packaged and also Engineered.

This is a heavy duty second tier option of the Ultimate Support IQ-3000 and alos their V stand. Like the IQ-3000, it appears to be generally durable and well designed, though there are a few short comings, read on.

PROS: heavy duty construction without too much weight. It is cleverly designed so that you can set it up for a particular two keyboard combination and remove the 2nd tier for transport, then at the gig, quickly drop the tier arms into the clamps without further adjustment and you are ready to go. Setup should just be a few seconds. The height and angle of the 2nd tier is fully adjustable and I’d expect it can accommodate a very wide range of keyboard combinations.

CONS: there are two minor flaws in the product. The height of each tier arm is controlled by a “Memory Collar”, which is a clamp that goes onto the vertical part of the tier arm and is tightened with a 4mm hex screw. You position the memory collar on the tier arm to control the height of the tier above the base stand. To attach the tier arm to the base stand, you simply slide the tier arm down through a clamp on the base stand until the Memory Collar contacts the stand clamp. The flaw is that the Memory Collar is plastic and will snap if you tighten it too tight. But it has to be fairly tight to hold the vertical position of the tier once a keyboard is on the tier. I snapped mine when setting up the stand initially. The 2nd tier can not be used if the plastic collar breaks. This critical part should be metal.

The second con is that the little plastic “L” shapped tier arm end pieces that prevent the keyboard from sliding off the tier do not fit securely into the tier arm pipe right out of the box. I had to bent the tabs of these pieces slightly to get them to stay securely in place. Once I did that, the arms ends stayed in place so no big deal, but kind of a pain to figure out during the installation. A product of this quality should not have these issues.

So with the above CONS in mind, I would still highly recommend this product, which is otherwise quite good. Just be careful of the plastic Memory Collars! I’d like to try to find some simple clamping mechanism at a home store that is more reliable.

screw for both tier locks are short, when installed, it was impossible to put the bolt on other side of the clamp lock making the whole thing look “funny engineering”.
“THE ENGINEERS” could have provided little longer screws to address this issue!
Second issue was the main clamp (which fits onto the VS88B Stand) the left tier does not fit in left clamp so the only way is to install was to put right tier in left side. By switching left to right and right to left, the tilt adjuster screw of the tier were facing inwards which is not right.
Anyways long story short I have wasted hours on this useless thing.

A perfect addition to my Ultimate stand. The ability to set the height for the second tier makes this invaluable as a traveling stage musician. It feels sturdy even mounted with two, stacked, keyboards. I have a Roland RD800 on the bottom, main, stand; Korg Karma atop a Korg CX-3 on the second tier.

Missing parts – as others have said in prior reviews. And no instructions included. But I went to the Ultimate Support site to find the instruction manual, and then found that I was missing both of the “memory collars”, one spring, and two washers. Also missing the Allen wrench that was supposed to be included. It also appears that this product was previously used. A screw head connecting a bracket was stripped. The parts I got were just randomly strewn into a box. No “Ultimate Support” systems box, packaging, warranty card – nothing.

Avoid purchasing from “Keyboard Center”. The address is some guy’s apartment.

It’s difficult to setup, I had to use an adjustable wrench to hold the memory collars closed tightly enough to thread the bolt that is barely long enough to reach the nut.

Once assembled, it’s not even close to level. There is no way to adjust in the direction that would allow you to correct for the tubes fitting very loosely into their bases.

One part doesn’t fit where it has to…
I sent it back at first because they have some broken things and one piece was not a right one.
Now I got the replacement product and it’s not perfect because one part has imperfections!
I don’t wanna waste time sending it back for second time and I think it’s better if I send it to some metalwork in order to fix its imperfection.

After buying hundreds of items on Amazon, I should know that if I read reviews and there seems to be a single constant complaint….I will probably have that same complaint if I buy the item. In some cases, it is the thing I need and I roll the dice…as in this case. I do not know of any other 2nd tier that will fit my V stand (please comment if you have successfully used something else). This item is relatively expensive and has less than glowing reviews. I opened the box, found substantial parts inside and was feeling pretty good, while also realizing that I either had a pretty decently re-boxed product, or something that went through the worst QA ever from the factory. Mine had 1 screw and you need more to put this together. I stopped at that point and returned it, thinking who knows what else is wrong that somebody returned it for a good reason.
It is stuff like this that has me wondering why I got rid of my old sturdy X-stand…just because it wasn’t pretty…

Awesome 2nd tier addition to my already awesome V-stand, sturdy as heck and keeps me confident about my performance. Built in level gauge is a handy feature. Just make sure that hardware is TIGHT.
