after airing it up I took my first shot at a target never saw the arrow and it had a kick to it
I knew it was as dangerous as a real gun, dont play with it, use it as a rifle
don’t buy scope it sucks, get a excalibur overlook or tack one scope, and shoot first arrows at 20 feet
any further and you will lose arrows and never get it sighted in,,buy extra arrows to start

Right out of box it was nice super nice and light. 3 shots later I was done sighting in. But will say I live in town. It’s way louder than I thought it would be. About like a .22 but more mechanical sounding. I’d suggest buying a compressor the old hand pump will take u forever and then some. Great buy wish deer season wasn’t over.

It is fun to shoot. But for hunting it sounds like you rang a bell after the firecracker went off. the arrows can only be gotten from Umarex dealers. losing your bolts in transit will probably end your hunt. If it’s a guided hunt better mail a few ahead. I doubt you will ever see these in Walmart. That’s a total pain. Best for hunting Kodiac Bear as the arrows pass clean through the lighter big game at moist preferred bow distances. I am certain some deer will jump the bolt. as sound travels 2x+ faster than your bolt. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can get by with an HPA hand pump. We are talking around a1000 pumps. If I were to try that I wouldn’t be able to hunt for a week! PS lower pressure=lower DB. wrapping the tube=less ping. It would be a very rare occasion that I would attempt a 100 yd. shot. thankfully this weapon is unregulated. I don’t expect to shoot more than a few shots hunting. I fired the Sabre into my archery target after a few shots the tips blew off of 2 bolts. Umarex says I must ship the bolts back before they will replace them. How long will that take? How much is it going to cost me? What must I do when those bolts fail? The Umarex asked me several questions about my target. It is a standard archery target backed by a mudflap. If Umarex offered to send me the arrow and tip separately I know I would use a good glue. ALL the BS. would be over. I am sending my sabre back to Amazon. And I will continue to send them back until Umarex starts building the bolts correctly! I haven’t heard of the other airbows having this stupid problem. P.S. After much testing/shooting I realized the problem with the air bolts. The bolts get too dry. I now lube the inside of my bolts lightly with a water-based lube. No petroleum products. I have been using Easy Lube by white lightning. A bicycle chain lube. I have given up on Unamex air bow. Great design and the stock is perfect. But they don’t have arrows that work. And they cost you an extra $6.00 shipping each time they replace a defective arrow. And all the arrows I have tried were defective. Wouldn’t take long and I would have spent enough for a much better airbow. I am adding gto my review. I thought to make a video of the shortcomings of the Umerx sabre, but when I complained to Umerx about their arrows, they insinuated that I wasn’t using an archery target. I thoughtb I nwould be accused ofbbeing an disgruntled customer. I have watchedv a video (made by someone else) and the broad head blew vright off the arrow when he tried to make his first shot on a live animal. Imwas to;d by someone representing Umerx that the arrow problem had been addressed. Well. the FIX is obviously no better than the original.

Ok, review time… Had this for about 3 months now. I am going to compare this air rifle to a Barnett C5 Wildcat crossbow.
Pro’s: Arrow speed is crazy fast, there is a very noticeable difference in impact time at both 25 and 50 yards.
Pro: Arrow penetration is significantly better, but…this is a con as well due to the fact that it sinks the arrow up to (and sometimes and past) the fletchings in a standard YellowJacket target vs about half to three quarters of the crossbow.. I have ruined a half dozen arrows so far. I also had one arrow split on me so buy extra arrows.
Con: It is fairly loud, not gunshot loud, more like nailgun loud.
Con: pumping it up using the hand pump is a lot of work. I’m 53 y/o and by no means in bad shape but the hand pump causes me to stop shooting after a couple of refills.
Con: Consistency is difficult to obtain at 50 yds or so. Each shot lowers the air pressure, which changes the impact point. Additionally there seems to be a “sweet spot” for air pressure…too high or too low and arrow flight is erratic.
Summary: The jury is still out in my book. I am getting an electric pump to see if shooting without the hand pump makes it more fun. I also don’t know if I would trust it on a 160+ inch whitetail. I’ll keep you posted.
Update #1: Electric pump arrived. Went from 2500psi to 3400 psi in about a minute. Groups much tighter with 2 shots between refills. Gun pressure drops about 100 to 150 psi per shot. Tore the fletchings off another arrow due to target penetration. FYI I purchased the Simon-noger pump.

I have had this arrow gun for a couple of years now. Each year I have killed hogs and deer with this awesome weapon. Better than any crossbow I have ever had, and I have had many. As far as jumping the string or noise from the AirSaber, I have not had one jump it yet. They have all jumped to the frying pan. As far as the arrows go, I purchased a sufficient amount that I will not have a problem of too few. I also ship my arrows with my AirSaber, in the case along side the gun. TIP! Buy a good case for the AirSaber so you can ship it all together. Also buy a good air compresor for the PCP. I have other UMAREX airguns and if and when I have a problem with them I contact UMAREX and follow their instruction. They have always been fast, fair and courteous. Try that with some other dealers. I hunt in Florida and the temps and conditions here put any weapon through the toughest of any hunting conditions. I can’t wait until UMAREX puts their new 50 caliber carbine on special with Amazon. I will buy several of them. That is just how good their products and services are. The AirSaber is top of the line and I highly recommend it.

Was skeptical about it shooting 70 yards but the accuracy is dead on love this
