Weleda Skin Food Ultra-Rich Body Cream 2.5oz

Great company and awesome products. I was looking to replace lotion from J&J that I no longer believe in (my opinion, the company is a fail with their practices & questionable ingredients). When I searched for organic lotion … voila! Weleda popped up. I have used Weleda products in the past and have been happy with the results, so I ordered three. This way I could try out which one would be suited for what. I will post this review on all three lotion/creams.

Weleda Citrus Hydrating Body Lotion 6.8oz (label says Refreshing Body Lotion) – it’s amazing! It’s super light, a little goes a long way, has a wonderful citrus scent that also very light. I decided to keep this one at my desk. The pump dispenses the perfect amount and you only need a little bit. Lotion smooths on easily and absorbs into the skin nicely. This helps with all the hand washing and sanitizing, while using keyboard and shuffling paperwork. Even though it’s thin and light to apply, an hour later my skin still feels hydrated but no coating and does not feel greasy. A+ I would also say this would be a luscious after bathing application to wrap your skin with some heavenly loving.

Weleda Nourishing Body Cream baby (2.5oz orange tube) – this cream is nice and greasy, smooths on with easy and lasts all day. I put it on my face and I love how it feels. In the evening it was still feeling soft and moisturized. Might not be the best on hands as it did track oils for a while. But this is how I like my facial cream, goes on super easy because it glides.

Weleda Skin Food (green tube) – The skin food, is just that! It’s very stiff and very little is needed. Super yummy on the skin. I put it on the back of my hand when I first received package and it felt amazing. I put it on my face this morning, it takes some smoothing to get it everywhere. Even though it has oils, it is more solid and less gliding. But 4 hours later my skin feels just as soft and moisturized, normally it feels dry by now. I really like both the baby cream and this skin food … tomorrow I might put a little of each together and use on my face to get the benefits of the easy application of the baby cream as well as the nourishing from this one … it all boils down to personal preference and application site.

Each has a light scent, which flies after a short amount of time. Even the body lotion I am using on my hands … no scent detected after a while. I have washed my hands recently and do not yet feel the need to reapply lotion.

Loving each of these for specific reasons, all have organic ingredients and thus not putting questionable chemicals onto the largest organ of the body. Just one more thing as I continue to detox the unwanted elements that I have control over. I will be ordering more of these reviewed above … work, home, car etc.

If you suffer from really dry skin like myself, then this is something you definitely need in your kit! It is extremely thick, moisturizing cream. You only need a little bit and once you apply it all over your face or skin your skin just glows! My skin feels so soft after using this, and it makes my make up application, look flawless. Also, since I’ve been using this, a part of my nighttime routine, I have noticed less redness and inflammation in my face, and best of all, no more acne. I am really happy with this product and would put it on subscription.

I have been using this as a face moisturizer at night, and it has completely transformed my skin. I live in SoCal, and the weather is in the middle of changing. Yesterday we had 5% humidity, temperature has been vacillating between the high 80s and low 50s. My skin is unbelievably dry, especially my face. As a total skincare junkie, I’ve been using two different types of moisturizer, straight Argan oil, Marine Hyaluronics by The Ordinary, and rosewater. Nothing worked. My undereyes were peeling. My foundation and concealer caught every single dry spot to the extent that I couldn’t wear makeup without looking like I had a peeling sunburn underneath. I was just about fed up when I Googled “best moisturizer for dry skin” and this came up. This is a new holy grail.

The (Mild) Downsides:
The smell is not phenomenal, a bit like paint, almost. It scared me at first, but I have very sensitive skin, and it hasn’t irritated it. I believe the smell is natural. I also get reactive breakouts to some products, but not this, so even though it’s thicker than acrylic paint, fear not.

That brings me to my next point— this is THICK. Very, very thick, and depending on the temperature, difficult to spread. I usually just take the opportunity to massage my face, but once I get to the thin eye area I swap to a patting motion OR cut it with some Argan oil.

It feels sticky but once it sinks in it really isn’t. It may be best to think of it as an overnight mask, or in very thin layers, a primer. This will make your skin incredibly happy and hydrated, but it will also make you shine like a freshly waxed floor if you lay it on thick during the day. A little does go a long way, but it’s tough to get that little to go the way.

All downsides have been 200% worth it for me. My skin is no longer peeling at all. My light coverage foundation goes on the way you see in commercials. My concealer is working without issue. My skin feels plump and not-fatigued. I have even been able to return to using my retinol and glycolic acid in spite of the extremely dry weather, and my skin is STILL happy and moisturized.

I could not recommend this enough if you’re at a loss with dry skin, and if you aren’t afraid of stickiness, lay it on thick and sleep in it.

Ayant le syndrome de Raynaud j’ai une peau sensible et sèche voir très sèche. Je cherchais une crème pour les mains et cette crème est top, elle hydrate très bien et en plus elle sent bon les plantes médicinales. J’en mets vraiment une noisette 3 fois par jour et avant d’aller me coucher. Je la recommande. Elle peut s’appliquer sur le corps mais je trouve que vu le contenu elle convient mieux aux mains.

Thick cream that works well overnight. Dry skin has responded well to this, was tipped off about this brand by a makeup artist. Smell is quite strong but pleasant enough, and doesn’t last. It’s good stuff, value for money and no nonsense. Also useful for early morning so long as you give it time to absorb before you apply makeup.
