“Wild Planet Organic Roasted Chicken Breast With No Salt (12×5 OZ)” – this listing title indicates 12 cans, but you get ONE can. ONE can for ~$20 after shipping. I don’t really care how good the chicken is, at that price I could buy a full bird or a case of the competitor.

This chicken tastes good, but it comes out looking like a hockey puck…kind of makes me want to go ice-skating. But it’ll do it a pinch if you need some chicken and you don’t have time to cook one.

Congratulations, Wild Planet, for responding to derisive reviewers who named the earlier version of your Roast Chicken Breast the “Hockey Puck” because it came out of the can all in one piece. Now the product looks just like any other canned chicken–flaky large chunks in liquid, like canned tuna.
But have you forgotten the thousands of us who gave the Hockey Puck 5-star ratings? I was one of them. I loved the Hockey Puck, especially the salted version, because the meat was always moist, tender, and flavorful. It filled the whole can, with very little liquid, and it was versatile. It could be shredded or cut into any shape or size chunks and eaten alone, in salad or soup, or on crackers.
You have made some of your customers happy by making the product look like every other canned chicken breast. But what are we Hockey Puck lovers to do? I find the meat in the present chunk version dry, tough, and stringy. I can’t find the Hockey Puck version anywhere.
Please consider bringing the Hockey Puck version back–not as a replacement for the present chunk version, but as an alternative. Nobody does the Hockey Puck like you do!

Unlike other my chicken was chunks. Woulda liked the pate more. Why was it chunky! I mean big globs the size of my palm! Oh well. It was delicious! Thank you wild planet, you care about the planet as well as people with kidney issues and high blood pressure, ty for low sodium. I tried starkist chicken first in the pouch, it tasted like tuna, yuck. I highly recommend wild planet chicken.
Recipe:
Canned wild planet roasted chicken
Sara Lee 5 grain delightful bread
Avocado mayo
Canned mushrooms
An onion
Relish
Lettuce
Tomato
Avocado mayo only on bread both pieces. Make sure to saute your onions and mushrooms together and then place in fridge to get cold, unless ya like hot chicken salad sandwiches. Once cold, put on bread and make your sandwich, 😋🤤
I would buy again, but wish it was a little cheaper. I’m not rich. But I loved this sandwich and wild planet chicken!

Tastes clean, fresh and wholesome. Best canned chicken I’ve found yet. Can lining does not have an odor or affect flavor as with non-organic canned chicken, and it has no additives or broth to affect the flavor. I think the can was tightly packed with meat before cooking, but water naturally present in in meat separates out and meat appears to shrink while cooking, so you see meat in water when the can is opened. I don’t know why it is called roasted if it is actually boiled in its own juices. Also, I don’t think it should be called chunks when it seems actually to be shredded chicken tightly packed into a big lump. The shredding is ok with me, as it works well in salads and soups and saves me the time I’d spend chopping real chunks. I do wish the price weren’t so high and that they offered bigger cans at a lower price per ounce.

This is really the only second healthiest option available, other than vegetarian and vegan foods. Half a can provides 12 grams of protein. Yes, it is similar to canned tuna, but without the fishiness. Could it remind you a bit of canned cat food? Possibly but it’s way better than tuna if you ask me. I have trouble with my nose detecting “wet dog smell” when it comes to after tastes/smells from dairy and meat. This doesn’t really have that, if it does, it’s very subtle. Yes, it tastes like a canned item. So what. The chicken is fine ground and pressed into a very compressed pate’ so if that is not your thing, you might avoid this. I personally am very grateful for having a low sodium source of pure protein that has nothing else added. It is excellent mixed into salads/pastas, “tuna salad” sandwhiches, and frittatas!

I ordered this because I thought that 12×5 either meant 12 cans of 5 oz or 5 cans of 12 oz. anyway I ordered two and ended up with 2 cans of 5 oz. $20 is way too much to pay for two small cans of chicken. The description is quite deceiving!

I bought it because it had no added salt. The texture was good. It was packed with little water/ another plus for me.
My only issue is with how difficult it was to open the can. I have arthritis in my hands. I can handle other pop top cans with minimal problems. This can caused so much pain because it was so hard to pull up. I had to get my neighbor to open it!

I bought one can to try it out. When I opened it, my cat was very interested. So I gave her a slice. She gobbled it down. OK, I guess we will be sharing. That’s ok with me.
It’s a dense block of very flavorful and tender chicken. It slices easily with a sharp knife. It’s good cold or heated.
It’s a bit pricey, but not for organic chicken, and not as expensive as the vacuum packages of organic sliced chicken at the store. And I like it much better. Also, being in cans, it will keep in the pantry longer.
I recommend it for healthy protein snacks, sandwiches and quick skillet meals.

I like it crackers with salsa.
