I’m a pediatric home health nurse for medically fragile children, so I use this device a lot. It is definitely much easier and accurate to use on little fingers. The outer case makes it easy to keep clean and the partial cover on the device itself helps. It seems to be sturdy enough as I take it from place to place. I have removed one star because one of the client’s has a larger, more accurate, recently calibrated medically provided continuous device, and the numbers between the two are different on both the pulse and the O2 levels. Not by a lot, but enough to say it is not entirely accurate, but definitely, (in just my opinion, but I am not a doctor or expert) close enough for average use for a minimum cost.

I like the cute design and the helpfulness of the waveform to see the variations on the pulse. I’m seen a couple of reviews faulting the Acc U Rate for not working for adults, but it’s not designed for that! Better to buy one designed for adults. But on a whim I have used it with the adult pulseox on my adjacent fingers and the results were very close. I was not compensated in any way for this review. ~Shay

I had been looking for a SATs probe for children as all the ones on phones dont seem to work very well for you children. I bought this one based on the adult one having high reviews and must admit that I was very impressed.
Firstly the build quality is great and its design is a nice touch for children, the protective bag/carry case it comes with is made from good quality material too.
The display turned on straight away and was nice and bright even at its default (Its has options to make it brighter). Once on you can press the bears nose (the on/off button) to change the display and there are a lot of options some being the same design just a different orientation. my preference is the one with a small graph that way it makes it easier to see if you are going to get a good reading.
The reading is pretty accurate. Sometimes you do have to reposition the unit to get a better contact and for anyone who has experience with these things in hospitals would know that it takes a couple of goes to get a good measurement.
Anyone who is looking for one for children then this is it, you will not be disappointed.

My 3-1/2 year old, 27lb peanut of a Daughter has had pneumonia and RSV issues and has been hospitalized 2 times because it got too out of hand. On the 3rd occasion we caught it early, and because of the past issues we now have the expertise to give her some home care before it gets to the point of paying for a hospital visit. But since we didn’t have an O2 monitor we decided to air on the side of caution and take her in to be seen anyway. They told us to continue doing what we’ve been doing and if we had this, it could have been avoided all together. After purchasing and returning a ‘Box store’ monitor that wouldn’t fit her little fingers, I purchased this one, and it seems to work great! We tested it on my wife, my daughter and myself, and it seems to be accurate across the board. Some reviews said it wasn’t reading accurately, but it’s reading 98-100% on all 3 of us. Since I have nothing to compare it to, I figure if it’s a little “off” it’s not life threatening. The goal here is to make sure she never get’s dangerously “low” and stays above 90 when she’s sick, and this will definitely solve that problem in the future. I would recommend it to any parent with a child who’s sick often. (There was one night we could have REALLY used this at about 2am, while trying to make a confidant decision on if we should be taking her to the emergency room, or if we could get some sleep and take her in the morning….It would have been a HUGE stress reliever, and I’m glad we have one now. It’s super un-comforting laying in bed with your sick kid hoping that you’re doing the right thing, so any tools to help you make those decisions are very welcomed in our house! This was one of them for sure! )

Our daughter has viral-induced asthma, and whenever the winter season rolls around we have to watch her very carefully. This oxygen monitor has made it a breeze to check up on our sweet girl and make sure she’s getting the oxygen she needs.

It’s specially designed for children, which is a large reason we went with this one over others on the market. The bright colors make it unintimidating and cheerful during moments that can feel scary, and it reads quickly and accurately to put our minds at ease faster. It’s comfortable when worn, and she barely even twitches when we put it on. Recommend!

I bought this after my 9 mo old baby was diagnosed with RSV and her oxygen levels were dipping below 90 in her checkups. She’s a little baby (below 10% in length, and weight) so I was afraid her fingers would be too small to detect and yes, when she’s awake it’s impossible to get a reading but when she’s asleep I can slip the reader on her thumb easily and I get an accurate reading. It’s very fast to get a reading and seems to be consistent.
The first time I tried turning it on it wasn’t turning on, took a few tries to get it working but after it started working it’s been turning on every time I hit the power button so who knows if it needed the jolt of good batteries instead of the offbrands included.
It’s kind of flimsy looking and looks like it’ll fall apart every time you open it to put a finger in but the screen is very clear and informative. Cheap and effective, definitely recommend.

It worked well on my toddler finger and I checked while he was sleeping. It didn’t disrupt his sleep. He didn’t notice. It comes with a protection cover. It was excellent in my opinion.

Pretty good little device – we had an adult one that wouldn’t fit our 3 year old. This one fits and seems to track closely with the true value.

My daughter’s nurse has this and I decided to get one after seeing how quickly it gets a reading vs our adult one. She is 9 but busy and always moving. Now she doesn’t have to sit still for long because it works so fast! Wish I knew it existed sooner. Comes with batteries too. 🙂
