Amazon Customer –
We have been through 3 or 4 of these and have to replace it every 6 to 12 months. The motor keeps giving out. Buying a different one this time because the one we bought 5 months ago just broke.

It was cheap, it was small, and you could turn it sideways to sit in shallow water. It was exactly what I was looking for. About three weeks into running it, it started making a VERY loud grinding sound. It would still pump, but it was loud. It sounded like nails on a chalkboard. I rinsed it out, took it apart, nothing would fix it. Then all of a sudden the sound just stopped and it started running quietly again. Weird.
Then about a week later, the sound returned but so loud that we could hear it screeching like a wounded animal from OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. It seriously sounded like it was about to explode – And this time it wasn’t pumping water, just screaming. I quickly unplugged it and tossed it in the trash.
Very disappointed.
Ashley –
Work well for paludarium especially love the fact it has horizontal and vertical positions. I have mine horizontal for the six inch deep water I have.

Installed in a 3-4gal. paludarium. The 3 stage filter is tiny but does a good job. I use the outflow to create a trickle effect, it pulls water surprisingly high. In the video the filter is behind the slab of petrified wood at right rear

To be fair, I bought this filter used and it just didn’t perform well. It seemed to be constructed poorly. I returned it.
Jerold Anderson –
The Filter stopped working after about 2 minutes
James –
love these filters not strong enough to suck up my aquatic frogs but when paired with additional filter media keeps the water quality very good.
