This is a great product for those with larger reptiles. It really is perfect for my tortoise who when he wants to sleep or get out of the heat, just crawls in. Its a sturdy material, he climbs and scratches it but i don’t see it falling apart like other reviews. SO from my end i would say its a great product especially for the price.

I did not want to buy a resin hide but the size on the wooden ones are always unreliable. This resin hide is big enough for an Indoor adult three toed box turtle. However it did arrive cracked. I repaired the crack with tape but would not buy again.

I use these for my bearded dragons, not turtles (don’t own any). These are nice because they are very easy to clean and maintain and are large enough for an adult bearded dragon to use as a basking spot and as a hide with room to turn around in. These also cost a lot less then large hides and are just as effective and usefull. I just wish these were sold in stores.

Was looking for a natural looking hide-away for my baby carpet python. She loves crawling in and out of stuff, and generally sleeps on top, basking in the heat lamp. I places the hut under the lamp, with about two feet of space. The area varies from 85-90 degrees during the day, and is about 70-75 at night. The tank is moderately/very humid, using a exo-terra rs400. About a month after buying it, it began to crack. Thinking it was due to the heat lamp, we moved it to the other side of the tank. However, it continued to crack. So, I put it out of the way of the misting system too, thinking it was the water damaging it, but… it continues to crack until large chunks started falling off of the outside, into the hollow space between the bottom layer and top layer of plastic. Very upset. Had to throw it out because the plastic was sharp and unsafe for me snake.

I purchased this turtle hut in July 2023 and just 6 months later it broke in 2 pieces. It only sat at the bottom of a small turtle pond and was never dropped so the material is just made of junk. This is entirely too expensive to break so easily and quickly. I have written to ZooMed but no response.

Fantastic hide for my 800g ball python. I dont think there is anything out there that would beat this. Its so heavy, great quality, and my ball seems to like it. Do not hestitate to buy this. You wont be disappointed.

The outer box didn’t seem damaged, but as I went to open it , I could hear the broken pieces clanking together 🙁
I was thinking it would be of Resin material, not ceramic or whatever this was. I returned it for a refund.
If it Had been in one piece, it would have worked great though for our large Bearded Dragon , it was very nice and Very big.
It looked easy to clean 🙂

The description states “special resin hideout”, but is ceramic and highly breakable. So not happy as looking for something not that breakable. When it arrived, discovered it is ceramic and the tag states “NEW! Now made of Earth Friendly Ceramic”. If I had known ceramic I wouldn’t have purchased as we do lots of cleanings each week with our education animals. I am not a happy customer.

Like many people, mine arrived broken. Not in a few pieces either, looks like 6 large pieces tons of tiny fragments which means I wouldn’t have been able to glue it back together even if I tried. I also wouldn’t have confidence in it – the material is a thin, flaky, ceramic that seems very low quality. Unfortunately I made a rookie move and didn’t open mine for a few weeks as the tank wasn’t ready for it, so I’m outside the Amazon return window. I would not recommend this to anyone.
